"WELCOME TO THE MASQUERADE TOUR", PRESENTED BY CREATION FESTIVAL: THE TOUR.

Nearly one year after their stellar release, “Welcome to the Masquerade,” Tooth & Nail Records’ Thousand Foot Krutch continues to build on the success of their 2009 album with the announcement of the fall headline “Welcome to the Masquerade” tour. Creation Festival: The Tour will be the presenting sponsor, and it begins October 1st for 20 dates and will also feature Disciple and special guests Ivoryline. Decyfer Down will take Disciple’s slot for the last week of the tour. For information on cities and dates, visit: http://www.creationfesttour.com

“We’re so excited to bring the ‘Welcome To The Masquerade’ tour to you this fall! We really wanted to do a full-blown rock tour – that’s just pedal to the metal, and that’s exactly what we plan to do,” shares TFK frontman Trevor McNevan. “Along with good friends Disciple and Ivoryline, we’ve also teamed up with Creation Festival: The Tour, who’ve come along side us to bring you the very best tour we could. We’ve had a long standing relationship with the Festivals and the Tour, and it’s humbling and inspiring to see how much they’ve accomplished over the years, with so many lives God’s changed through their work. As a band, we’ve also teamed up with Compassion International to spread the message of hope in sponsoring children all over the world. There will be something for everyone. Bring your ear plugs, things are about to get loud.”

“Thousand Foot Krutch have proven themselves time and time again as one of the top acts,” states Nick Kulb, Creation Festival: The Tour producer. “They have built a passionate fan-base and have grown into a natural headliner. Their passion, energy, and testimony are what Creation strives to work with. We’re looking forward to teaming up again for this amazing tour.”

This tour announcement follows a huge summer of festival touring for TFK including Creation Northeast and Northwest, Lifest, Sonshine, Ichthus, Unity Festival, Purple Door, Heaven Fest, Fish Fest and YC Edmonton. Not to mention, TFK’s upcoming appearances rounding out the summer at Rock the Light, Disney’s Night of Joy, Awakening Festival, Freedom Festival and FallQuest.

The past year has been a whirlwind for TFK since the release of their fifth studio album, “Welcome to the Masquerade,” which has produced two No. 1 Christian Rock singles (“Fire It Up,” “Bring Me To Life”), two top 10 Christian CHR singles (“Forward Motion, “Already Home”), one top 15 Active Rock single (“Fire it Up”), as well as numerous TV, film (GI Joe), gaming and sport arena placements including being featured at the Super Bowl in February. The album was touted by media as a “their best,” the “best album of its genre to be released,” and one of the “very best albums of the year.”

July 31, 2010. While the rest of the country drooled over every detail of Chelsea Clinton’s wedding, an estimated 35,000 people migrated to Longmont, Colorado the new site of the 3rd annual Heaven Fest. 70 artists filled 7 stages on 300 acres making Heaven Fest bigger and badder than years before. Kutless, Casting Crowns, Mary Mary, and a Petra reunion all graced the main stage, while harder bands like Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Sleeping Giant, The Devil Wears Prada and White Collar Side Show rocked on the debut of the hardcore/metal stage. But like last year, my time was exclusively devoted to the rock stage.

Decyfer Down

This year’s rock stage kicked off with Decyfer Down. From the very first song I was reminded of the excellence in sound quality that comes with Heaven Fest. Unlike pretty much every other concert I’ve been to where the guitars tend to drown out, well, everything, at Heaven Fest the vocals were so clear one could very easily follow along, assuming they knew the words, of course. Decyfer Down definitely didn’t waste time rocking the stage, starting their 45 minute set fast and hard for the first three or four songs. Then they slowed things down a bit in what singer T. J. Harris described as an “altar call” with an explanation of their song “Best I Can” informing the crowd that they didn’t have to feel the need to be perfect. They then finished up with fan favorites “Fight Like This” and “Ride With Me”.

Next up was the rock/worship group, The Kry. Coming all the way from Quebec City in Canada, they would be the first of three Canadian bands performing on the rock stage. They opened up with the song “Everywhere” and a shout out to Canada. One thing especially notable about the set was that this was the first time in 10 years that all three original band members Pete Nelson, Yves Lajoie and Jean-Luc Lajoie had played a show together. The performance mostly consisted of songs that leaned toward the praise and worship side of the rock spectrum with songs like “Something About You” and asking the crowd to sing “Believe in God”. They fittingly ended with the reading of Bible passage 1 Corinthians 15.

Filling the 2:30 to 3:30 slot was last year’s main event at the rock stage- Disciple. They played several songs from their upcoming album Horseshoes and Handgrenades as well as other fan favorites like “321” and “The Wait is Over”. Unfortunately, I missed most of Disciple’s set due to being hassled by event security staff. Which brings me to my next point; if you do decide to make the trip to Heaven Fest next year, do not waste your money on premium passes. You’re basically paying 50+ extra bucks for a sparkly wristband that doesn’t get you to the front of the rock stage like I was told it would. Disciple, however, would remain unfazed and continue to rock the crowd to the point of earning the day’s first encore. Singer Kevin Young would once again take the mic to talk to the crowd about not always asking God to give them things, but instead to give back and be a blessing to others. He then urged the crowd to go visit Compassion International’s table in the main tent and to consider making a difference in an impoverished child’s life.

OC Supertones having fun

The midpoint of Heaven Fest came at 4 o’clock and with that brought the first ever signed Christian ska band the O.C. Supertones. It has been several years since the Supertones played a show in Denver and for people like myself who had yet to see them live, it was well worth the wait! They walked onto the stage to Peaches and Herb’s “Reunited” and began their one hour set with a song that was older than half the kids in the crowd “Adonai”.

OC Supertones fans having a go

The energy on stage was consistently high throughout the performance as the self-proclaimed “old guys” were constantly jumping around and off the stage and that energy was clearly mirrored by the crowd. They played a massive 12 song set from their first four albums including “Supertones Strike Back”, “Grounded”, “This is What it Comes to” among others. They then took it down a notch with “Away From You” off of their 3rd album, Chase the Sun. After that, they had a line-up switch as the crowd was led by drummer Jason Carson donning an acoustic guitar in a worship song while Tony hopped on drums and Matt covered bass. The set was supposed to end with “Little Man” and “Who Can Be Against Me?” but the crowd would not let them leave the stage so easily. After several shouts of “encore”, they came back with “Unite”. The Supertones’ set was filled with great music and all kinds of craziness. Between all of the jumping on and off of the stage, several mic tosses into the crowd and Darren wanting Matt to jump off of his back, the Supertones definitely had the best all around performance of the day.

Barlow Girl had the stage between 5:30 and 6:30 but after a breakfast of water and a lunch of more water, I needed to go get some food because there was no way on earth I was going to miss the next band. Sorry Barlow Girl!

TFK

Now I will start this section off with a disclaimer: I am EXTREMELY biased. Thousand Foot Krutch is one of my three favorite bands, so anytime they take the stage I’m going to love it! These Canadian rockers walked onto the stage to “The Invitation”, the opening track on their newest album Welcome to the Masquerade. One of the first things I noticed was there had been a change in the lineup since I last saw TFK. Long time touring guitarist Nick Baumhardt had been replaced by new guy Ty Dietzler but that did not affect the performance one iota. With extremely intense facial expressions and dreads flying every which way, Ty actually enhanced the viewing experience. TFK got the party started with title track “Welcome to the Masquerade” followed by “Bring Me to Life”, “E for Extinction” and “Scream”. I almost died of shock during “Bring Me to Life” when a photographer from a local magazine asked me who was playing. I looked at him and said “Are you serious? It’s only one best bands ever!” as I pointed to my shirt. Probably not the best response I could’ve given but I’m still astonished that some people don’t know TFK. It’s just wrong. Anyway, concert staples “Move”, “The Flame in All of Us”, “Falls Apart” and “Rawkfist” all made an appearance. And after 45 short minutes of awesomeness, they finished off with “Fire It Up” and “Puppet”.

As the sun set, the lights turned on and that can only mean the headliner for the 2010 Heaven Fest rock stage would soon appear. Canada’s third and final group Hawk Nelson hit the stage running with “Friend Like That” off of the similarly named album Hawk Nelson is My Friend. After playing “You Have What I Need”, “The Job” and “Things We Go Through”, they began to talk about every Canadian’s favorite sport (or so I’m told) hockey. Which led to a ukulele solo that I did not recognize but the rest of the crowd did as they all sang along. “Bring ‘Em Out” got the crowd jumping again but that was short lived as Jason Dunn gave a message about Christians who are on the fence and referenced something that he had recently seen that stated “What if God only thought about you on Sundays?” and transitioned into the song “Try to Be”. “California”, “Let’s Dance” and “Live Life Loud” finished off the evening to the screams of the hundreds of adoring fans.

About Tooth & Nail Records:
What began in a bedroom over a decade ago has grown organically to become the enthusiastic support system behind many of the most important rock bands operating, including Underoath, Emery, Hawk Nelson, Thousand Foot Krutch and The Almost. With headquarters in Seattle and offices in Nashville, Tennessee and elsewhere, Tooth & Nail Records is also the parent company to Solid State Records (Demon Hunter, Haste The Day) and BEC Recordings (Jeremy Camp, Kutless). Label founder Brandon Ebel became immersed in the network of musicians, clubs, fanzines and promoters who were making waves with bands whose positive messages (whether translated through melodic punk or heavy rock) and creative, inspired music. Driven to this unique perspective, the music press has caught on and embraced many T&N bands the kids already knew. With new signings like Family Force 5, The Letter Black, Sent By Ravens and The Becoming injecting fresh life into the company, Tooth & Nail continues to be a vital, dominant presence in the contemporary music scene.
About BEC Recordings:
Originally launched as a more commercially minded side of Tooth & Nail Records in 1997, BEC Recordings has since expanded with its own identity into one of the music industry’s most celebrated imprints. BEC Recordings was placed on the map with artists such as Jeremy Camp, KJ-52, and Kutless when the label began to receive significant CHR or AC radio attention. BEC artists soon became a staple at both formats. Outside of breaking through in multiple radio formats (a trend that continued with Hawk Nelson, Adie, Seventh Day Slumber, Bebo Norman and many more) BEC also branched out to audiences from all walks of life, as evidenced by its increased presence in literally every facet of pop culture (including movie soundtracks, major retailer advertising campaigns and countless package tours). The Classic Crime is Giving Back to Haiti
Tooth & Nail Records’ The Classic Crime left their hearts in Haiti last November on their first trip to the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Months before the 7.0 magnitude earthquake, The Classic Crime visited Bon Repos, a collection of villages in rural Haiti, with JesusInHaitiMinistries (JiHM, a non-profit) experiencing first-hand the poverty-stricken country. Upon returning from Haiti, the band set their hearts and minds to using their musical platform to do good for others. Two months later the country was devastated by the largest earthquake in 200 years, amplifying the band’s passion to give back to Haiti. The Classic Crime is set to release their third studio album, “Vagabonds” on Tooth & Nail Records April 6, 2010. The band will begin a pre-sale of their album this week, donating all profits from the pre-sale to JiHM in Haiti. Link below for pre-sale purchase. “All profits generated from our pre-sale will go to JiHM for earthquake relief in the rural areas of Haiti,” explains Matt MacDonald, vocalist. “JiHM leader Tom is the only lifeline to thousands of Haitians in Bon Repos and surrounding villages, as food and water haven’t left Port-Au-Prince in two weeks. He spends 18 hours a day with his staff of over twenty delivering water, food, and medical supplies to hundreds of people who would otherwise starve. This pre-order is designed to provide specifically for his relief efforts. It will save lives.” In addition to raising funds for Haiti through their album pre-sale, the band will be releasing a series of videos from their time in Haiti to show others the condition of this country prior to the earthquake, which will be a reminder that this country was already in rough condition. Beginning February 1st and leading up to the release of the album, each video will be posted on The Classic Crime’s Facebook, MySpace and YouTube pages. “JiHM is a small yet effective non-profit, made up of individuals obsessed with helping Haiti in all the right ways,” shares MacDonald. “After experiencing the mission first hand I can say that not only do I truly believe in the effectiveness of their brand of servanthood, I am blown away by the conviction of their love for the people they serve. Now with the earthquake, putting a face to the devastation, it really hits home.” This third studio album, “Vagabonds,” recorded in just three weeks time, is pared down with the most basic elements mirroring The Classic Crime’s live sound. A band that doesn’t follow musical trends that fade quickly, The Classic Crime makes music for their dedicated fanbase. The band also hopes that their fans see what they are concerned with and that they are trying to make the world a better place. “Summing up the theme of this album, is it’s not about needing money or material things to be happy, it’s about playing music as this is what we were place on earth to do,” MacDonald states. “After our trip to Haiti, we have a much better perspective on what we value and what we want to do with our platform.” You can pre-order the album

Paramore Reveals Spring Tour Plans
Fueled By Ramen recording group Paramore has unveiled details of its upcoming headline tour. The tour is set to kick off on 4/26th with a home state show at Tennessee’s Knoxville Civic Coliseum. Dates will then continue through mid-May. Support will come from Relient K and fun. Pre-sale tickets are available to members of the Official Paramore Fan Club now. All remaining tickets will then go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 5th and Saturday, February 6th. The tour comes hot on the heels of Paramore’s recent European itinerary, a blockbuster trek that saw the Grammy Award-nominated band blowing the roof off of sold-out arenas across the continent, including London’s 12,500-capacity Wembley Arena. Next month will see Paramore venturing across the Pacific for a long-awaited tour of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, which already includes sold-out shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. In addition, Paramore is set to headline the first day of 2010’s installment of The Bamboozle New Jersey. The hugely anticipated annual festival is slated for Saturday, May 1st at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Paramore’s acclaimed third album, “brand new eyes,” has just been certified gold by the RIAA for sales now exceeding 500,000. The collection was among 2009’s biggest popular and critical successes, coming in as the “Album of the Year” in Alternative Press’ “Readers Poll ’09,” as well as the #2 favorite on the magazine’s own “Best Albums of 2009” tally. The New York Times’ Jon Caramanica placed “brand new eyes’ on his 2009 Top 10, praising it for “choruses (that) roll up like tidal waves.” What’s more, Spin counted “brand new eyes” among its “40 Best Albums of 2009,” noting that Paramore have “entered the rarified world of rock that matters.” Spin also named the opening night of last fall’s “The PARAMORE Tour” as one of its “30 Biggest Concerts of 2009.” Further honors keep piling up, with Paramore recently being declared “Favorite Rock Band” at the 2010 People’s Choice Awards. In addition, the band’s smash single, “Decode” – featured on Summit Entertainment/Chop Shop/Atlantic’s “TWILIGHT—ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK” – has been nominated as “Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television, Or Other Visual Media” at the upcoming 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. “Ignorance,” the sensational first single from “brand new eyes,” is now poised to impact at CHR/Pop radio outlets nationwide, having already been a top 10 smash at Alternative Rock outlets. Furthermore, a second single, “Brick By Boring Brick,” is currently blowing up at Alternative Rock, with its companion video clip – directed by Meiert Avis (U2, New Found Glory, matchbox twenty) – now topping FUSE’s No. 1 Countdown. “Brick By Boring Brick” is also a top 10 video smash at MTV2.

Thousand Foot Krutch News
Football fever is at a high as the 2010 Super Bowl XLIV nears on February 7, 2010. Thousand Foot Krutch’s music will be present at the Miami football party as the band’s hot song “Fire It Up” will be used in the arena on the jumbotron to pump up the crowd with a highlights video. This month, NFL Network has also used the song on NFL Total Access, NFL Nike Rewind and NFL Game Day Morning. “Fire It Up” has also been featured in recent months in the summer blockbuster movie trailer for “G.I. Joe,” ESPN’s NASCAR Nationwide series, the Versus Network IndyCar race as well as a pre and in-game song for various sports teams (New York Islanders, Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, Seattle Sounders and Seahawks, UFC, and many others). This single has also brought chart success, giving TFK their fourth Top 20 hit on Active Rock radio including current top 10’s in Seattle, WA (KFNK), Santa Rosa, CA (KXFX), Burlington, VT (WLFE), and Denver, CO (KBPI), Chicago, IL (WIIL), Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (KEGL), Las Vegas, NV (KOMP) and Fresno/Visalia, CA (KRZR), and many other stations increasing spins. As their most recent studio album “Welcome to the Masquerade” catapulted the band with many song placements, radio singles, year-end album mentions and reviews, TFK has also risen to the occasion on the touring market. With new booking agent Pardiagm Agency, the band has landed a tour with Breaking Benjamin in March (dates below). TFK is also replacing the Newsboys at the January 29 Winter Jam Spectacular Tour in Cleveland, Ohio.
Disciple Guitarist Needs Your Help
For those of you who don’t know, Micah has been through a LOT lately. about a month ago he had his wisdom teeth taken out. for the next few weeks he had headaches and numbness in his face that continually got worse. he kept going to his orthodontist to see what was up and they kept sending him home with pain medicine. about a week ago Micah’s mom was in town visiting and decided to take him to the hospital. by the time they got to the hospital Micah couldn’t even walk because of the pain. they ran a CT scan and found there was an infection that started in his right jaw and spread to the entire right side of his head. they have since done three surgeries to try to remove the infection and Micah has spent a week in the hospital. Ok, so obviously the best thing we can do is pray for Micah, and trust me he appreciates our prayers. But on top of that we’re going to start taking donations to cover some of his medical expenses. I’m not sure on the number exactly, but I know he’s had at least 3 surgeries and that’s a lot of money. I’m asking you to give whatever you can. Whether if be you’re daily gas station coffee money for a week or if you feel the need to give more. Every single little bit helps! I know times are tough right now, but I know Micah has touched the bands’ life, and if you’ve seen them in concert yours, even if it’s just by putting a smile on your face.
So here’s what we can do:
1. Donate at the shows, they will be more than happy to make sure the money gets to Micah

New Song From Wrench In The Works
Wrench in the Works has released a song from their upcoming album, Decrease/Increase. The song, called Project AK-47 is about child soldiers and was inspired by the organization of the same name. Here the band explains why this project means so much to them: “This past Cornerstone [Festival] we learned about the ministry Project AK-47 and what they are all about. It really just hit close to home for us as a band and we felt a Godly calling to support them and bring awareness to people. Even to the point of us writing a song called “Project AK-47″ on our new record which is inspired by the ministry. Basically the calling they have is to save child soldiers in southeast Asia (over 300,000 kids) who have been kidnapped, orphaned or deceitfully recruited to serve as soldiers in government armies or drug cartels; for $7 you can save a child through them. Just think about what you were doing at age 7 or your little brother or sister or nephew or niece and then think about yourself or them training with a machine gun. It makes my stomach turn to think about what these kids go through in the fear they must face everyday.” Hear the new song 3.
Tumbledown Announce Tour Dates
In an era of cookie-cutter, made for radio, musical acts, the raw talent and energy behind MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN’s multi-genre appeal has fans scrambling for access to more live shows. Now, their collective plea has been answered and a new tour is scheduled to cover the Pacific Coast and outward into the Southwest. The month of March will feel as wild as a Texas tornado with a packed series of 19 show dates, aptly named the North by Southwest Tour. TUMBLEDOWN fans can also look forward to their favorite punk-a-billy band making an appearance at the annual SXSW Music Festival this year. Under the creative influence of many of the great American songwriters and countless classic punk rock shows, forged out of personal heartbreak and reflection, MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN was born. Following the release of their self-titled debut album, through End Sounds, and the praise for the hit single “Butcher of San Antone”, Mike Herrera and company now face the open road yet again. They will be kicking off their new tour on Friday, 3/5 in Yakima, WA, winding it all up back in Seattle, WA on Friday, 3/31. While the world-traveling Bremerton, WA musician Mike Herrera may be most well-known as the dynamic bassist and lead singer of the Left Coast three-piece punk band MxPx, beneath all the tattoos and piercings, the ranting and stage wrecking, Herrera has long been an acoustic-wielding songsmith. MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN captures the punk rock energy of MxPx, while also displaying the soulful experiences of Herrera’s travels along the lonely, open road, coining their own unique pop-punk-a-billy sound. MIKE HERRERA’S TUMBLEDOWN consists of Herrera as songwriter/lead vocals/guitar, lead guitarist Jack Parker, standup bassist Marshall Trotland, and drummer Harley Trotland.
