Since October Release Single
After scoring their first ever hit on the Active Rock charts last year with “Guilty,” Since October have returned with a brand new album and lead single which picks up where they left off. The band’s sophomore release Life, Scars, Apologies will be released on Tooth & Nail/EMI Records on 6/8th. The first single “The Way You Move” has already reignited the band’s fan base by becoming the #1 most added track at Active Rock radio this week. The foursome made up of Ben Graham (Lead Vocals), Luke Graham (Guitar / Backing Vocals), Josh Johnson (Bass) and Audie Grantham (Drums) are excited to get their latest single on the air. “This is a song about a relationship gone right, and my wife of 8 years is the inspiration,” commented Ben. “It seems like most ‘relationship songs’ are about what went wrong. Since a ‘happy marriage’ is rare these days I figured I should take advantage of my situation. Before we met, I was at a time in my life where I had decided to be ’single for awhile’, you know, focus on my life, my job, my faith, my whatever. However, let’s just say after I caught a glimpse of her, that philosophy went flying out the window! There was something about her that restored in me the idea of ‘true love’. We both took a chance and after 8 years I still enjoy watching her walk through a room!” Through driving rhythms, memorable choruses, moving melodies and rock solid bottom end, the Floridian bred band have connected with listeners in clubs across America, on the radio, and via the Internet. The band’s authentic, pure voice delivered a significant following through the release of their debut album This Is My Heart in 2008, which has built steadily in to imminent street date of Life, Scars, Apologies. Graham shares, “Anything in our lyrics is usually something I’ve dealt with or maybe someone in the band is dealing with. People are attracted to that level of honesty, especially in the clubs. When people see us on stage, they might assume that we’ve got everything together and our lives are perfect. We like to say, ‘You know, we might be on stage but we’re not any higher than you guys are and we’re struggling through this just as much as you guys are.’ We’re just trying to tell our stories.” Life, Scars, Apologies — the band’s upcoming album — will undoubtedly kick down even more doors for Since October, spreading their huge riffs and big harmonies further across the globe. The band is poised to do great things, but by no means have they forgotten how and why they started. “Our faith is a huge part of our lives — what we do, how we live,” explains lead vocalist Ben Graham. Since October was built from the ground up, kicking and clawing in the hardscrabble Southern club circuit as a self-made rock n’ roll band and selling 5,000 copies of their self-financed CD through word of mouth. They’ve toured with bands like Trapt, 10 Years, Saving Abel and Saliva and shared stages with Shinedown, Flyleaf, Papa Roach, Chevelle and Judas Priest, to name a few. Most importantly for the group they’ve been able to connect to a wider audience with their music and messages. “A lot of the songs are really upbeat and fast tempo on the first album compared to this new one,” Ben points out. “We really drop the tempo down and just chug a little bit on this album.” The band will head to Nashville to shoot a video for “The Way You Move” this month. After that, they expect to do what they do best – hit the road and tour. More details to be announced shortly.

New Album From In The Midst Of Lions
Facedown Records’ In the Midst of Lions are in the recording studio with Jamie King working on their Facedown debut, The Heart of Man. The band is excited to debut some of the new songs on this summer’s Scream the Prayer Tour. ITMOL’s vocalist Matt Janssen says the band feels blessed to be able to record with Jamie adding “He’s very knowledgeable about everything he does and incredible at it. The album is coming together well, we have already tracked drums and we’re about to start tracking guitar.” When asked about the concept behind The Heart of Man, Janssen noted that it’s a 3 part concept: “The tendency of corruption in man’s heart, the consequence of that corruption, and the transformation man must go through with God to get his heart past the corruption.” The Heart of Man makes its debut in August 2010.

Norma Jean Offer Free Download
Just a heads up that the almighty NORMA JEAN has just launched a FREE download of their new song “Leaderless and Self Enlisted” at their website. Fans need to sign up for the mailing list to get the free track. The song is from the band’s upcoming new album, Meridional, which arrives July 13th.

Haste The Day Debut New Single
Metalcore monsters HASTE THE DAY are not only announcing the track listing and artwork, but are debuting the lead single from their towering new album, Attack of the Wolf King, out 6/29 on Solid State Records. “Travesty”, one of several stand-out tracks from the band’s forthcoming album, is available to purchase today on iTunes, and can also be streamed via the band’s MySpace page. Wolf King proves to be the most dynamic, ferocious and art-minded album of the band’s career – an impressive feat for an act that is releasing its fifth full length and has compiled more than a quarter-million in album sales. Recorded in Richmond with veteran producer Andreas Magnusson (THE BLACK DHALIA MURDER, OH SLEEPER, etc), Attack Of The Wolf King is the first outing for the current incarnation of HASTE THE DAY, whose new members brought equally fresh elements to the writing process, adding new fuel to the tried-and-true metalcore machine of singer Stephen Keech and bassist Michael Murphey. While HASTE THE DAY are already among the metalcore elite, Wolf King sees the band reaching frenzied new heights for what, nine years into their career, could be their career-defining album. “I think that Attack Of The Wolf King has taken the musical elements of HASTE THE DAY – the breakdowns, the melodies, and the mood – and turned it up ten notches,” says bassist Michael Murphy. “Fans of the old HTD and the new HTD will be both be in love with this album. It has the raw aggression of Burning Bridges, the catchy choruses of When Everything Falls, the energy of Pressure The Hinges, and the mood and feeling of Dreamer. Get ready for your new favorite HASTE THE DAY album!” HASTE THE DAY have already announced a summer headlining tour in support of the album, from 6/4 to July 2, and will follow that up with a Warped Tour run from July 20 to August 15th.

Ivoryline To Release Vessels July 27th
Ivoryline will release VESSELS on July 27th in stores and online. The band’s sophomore album follows their Tooth & Nail Records debut, THERE CAME A LION (2008) which opened as one of the bestselling releases from a new artist in the label’s sixteen-year history. VESSELS was produced by Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin, The Almost) and showcases a more mature and diverse Ivoryline than was heard on their previous record. “We just started writing,” says vocalist Jeremy Gray. “We didn’t really have a plan or agenda for the record. We just wrote what was on our hearts and hashed out the songs together. We had ample time to get the songs just the way we wanted and had a blast writing and recording the record. It really was one of the most exciting, joy-filled times of my life.” Joined by Guitarist Dusty Kittle, Bassist Robert Woodward and Drummer Wesley Hart, Gray and Ivoryline began taking the band’s sound to a new level. “With The Daylight” and “Hearts Open” harken to the heart of the band’s catchy rock core while “Search Me Out” and “Instincts” take that sentiment and forge forward to plateaus like “Made From Dust” and “You Bring Fire,” which are arguably the most ethereal and moody songs of the band’s career. “It’s been four years or so since some of the songs on THERE CAME A LION were written. Our tastes in music have changed, and we have changed as people,” explains Gray. “As a band, we listen to all different types of music from classical and movie scores to metal and hardcore. Since we do all our writing together, we influence each other all the time, and we employ each other’s strengths and different tastes in the writing process.” But the band also wanted their new music to have a renewed meaning. “During the recording process, I began praying that God would literally fill our songs, lyrics, and the album as a whole with His Spirit; that he would use us as His vessels. That was just really on my heart,” Gray says. Thus VESSELS was born. “The record is definitely more honest, revealing, and spiritual than our previous. We really want it to impact people in a deep way. Of course we want them to jam it and love the songs, but we also want people to be uplifted, loved, and maybe even challenged by some of the topics we address.”

Queens Club Announce Tour With Emery
Queens Club have announced a wealth of new tour dates for this 5/and June. Queens Club is a four piece who wield throbbing post-punk energy with a dollop of electronic pop gloss and infectious melodies. The band’s full-length debut Young Giant has recently been released on Tooth & Nail Records and a video for the band’s song “Less Talk” premiered on Absolute Punk last month. Favorable reviews have been pouring in including AltPress.com who gave the album a 3 out of 5 and The Kansas City Pitch who proclaimed “A metal-core history (drummer Jake Ryan and singer-guitarist Dan Eaton defected from the Chariot) means that Queens Club songs are bound to be imbued with intensity. But they also come mapped with predetermined pop purpose, making for enjoyable tracks.”

New Album From My Epic
Dreamt Music’s My Epic have been hard at work on their sophomore album for the past few months, and we now have the latest details about the project. The band has been working with Matt Goldman (Underoath, Copeland, Anberlin, Cartel) to produce their second album, YET. Vocalist Aaron Stone had this to say about working with Matt and the outcome of their sophomore Dreamt album YET. One of the things we realized early on was that [Matt] doesn’t exaggerate. He says exactly what he means. If it’s good he says so but he never uses words like “awesome” or “amazing”. That’s a quality we have really grown to appreciate over the last few years. The other great thing about Matt is that we already trusted that he knew what he was doing. This time around we felt really confident in the songs and we just wanted someone to help us maximize who we have become. We don’t ever want to make the same record twice. Matt was great at encouraging us to let this record become what it wanted to be. YET is about the distance between that which has already been traveled, overcome, and discarded, and the journey still to come. It is about the evidence, even now, of what will be. It is about a G-d who is so brilliantly and blindingly big that our rational minds can only be left to cower at His depths. He is so magnificent that we cannot yet look Him in the eye and yet He desires to live within us. It is about the hope that arises when one truly realizes that we will be completely undone when we stand before Him and yet He loves us still and makes us what we could never be on our own. My Epic will be touring in support of YET starting on 6/5th and ending at Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, IL. They along with So Long Forgotten (Come & Live) and label mates A Hope For Home are teaming up with 30 Hour Famine and World Vision for a tour that will hit the midwest, east and south. Dates will be announced soon. YET will be released on July 6th.

The Chariot To Headline The Tours And Rumors Of Tours
he Chariot has announced a headlining tour for early 2010 titled “The Tours And Rumors Of Tours” Tour. Speaking on it vocalist Josh Scogin said “We have not done a proper headliner in ages, so I am really stoked for this to happen.” Joining them will be Inhale Exhale (Solid State Records), Greeley Estates (Tragic Hero Records), Memphis May Fire (Trustkill) and The Color Morale (Rise Records). Speaking on the line up Scogin added “All of these bands are in the heavy genre and yet they all have diversity from one another…I think the shows will be very fresh and entertaining from band to band.” The Chariot are on tour supporting their newest release Wars And Rumors Of Wars (2009) of which Alternative Press said “The only rumor that should be spread about this album is that it’s the Chariot’s best yet” (4 out of 5 Stars). The album debuted at #112 on the Billboard Top 200 and received feature coverage in Outburn, Decibel, AMP and Metal Sucks.net among other places. The Chariot were among the headliners of the Scream The Prayer Tour along with Haste The Day, Oh, Sleeper and Project 86. Most recently the band was featured on the Explosions 2009 with Norma Jean and Horse The Band which ended on Dec 19th. Of the live set for this tour Scogin revealed “Our attempt is to try and play as many songs from Wars as we can, while trying to play all the songs we love from the other records as well. We will be doing a lot more medley’s, sort of combining big chunks of our songs together.” Greeley Estates last album Go West Young Man, Let The Evil Go East debuted on Billboard Heatseekers Chart it’s first week. The band recently toured with From First To Last and are preparing their next album No Rain, No Rainbow for release on January 26th, 2010. Vocalist Ryan Zimmerman said “Greeley took most of 2009 off to focus on writing our new record No Rain, No Rainbow. It’s tough taking that much time off of the road and performing but we feel like it was worth it. We’re confident that this is our best record and lineup yet.” I cant wait to get on the road with The Chariot. Josh Scogin has definitely influenced me over the years since his days with Norma Jean.” The Chariot will stream live video of their performances on select dates of the tour, via Stickam.com (Cities to be announced soon). The band will also give live video updates from the road.

Juliana Theory To Reunite
Broken up since February of 2006, Pittsburgh PA’s indie-emo-pop trailblazers The Juliana Theory have remained quite silent. Aside from the formation of Vesta (featuring 3 members of TJT), all has remained rather still in the Juliana camp. But with the recent announcement of an upcoming J’ Theory B-Sides Album, future vinyl re-releases, and a few cryptic posts on lead singer Brett Detar’s twitter, rumors have been abuzz on the web. August 2010 marks the ten-year anniversary of the release of The Juliana Theory’s defining and influential sophomore album “Emotion is Dead.” With this coming anniversary the band will put speculation to rest and reunite for two shows only to play the entire album from start to finish. Having not made music together since disbanding shortly after the final show of a European tour in January of 2006, this will be their first time to share a stage again as well as the first time playing the record in its entirety. “There’s a few songs off of Emotion is Dead that we’ve never even played live before so I think it’s going to be pretty great to play the whole album in sequence. I’m really looking forward to it,” said frontman Brett Detar. “I’m super excited for these shows, not only for us, but its finally the chance for all of our fans to get that last show. And my 2 year old daughter will get to be there this time around too,” added guitarist Joshua Fiedler. “We haven’t played in the US since 2005 so I think it’s going to be pretty great to get back up there together,” remarked bassist Chad Alan. As for the impetus behind this reunion, Detar elaborated, “When we broke up it was for real and it still is. We’re not into pulling a KISS move – getting back together all the time. The thing is, we never played a farewell show. We posted a goodbye blog and that was it. I think it was pretty unfair to our loyal fans and to us too. Now the five of us get to do what we always should have done and say goodbye properly – to do right by everyone. It’ll be great to share the stage with my brothers again and with the anniversary that just makes the whole thing even better.” In addition to playing the record from front to back each night, the band will also be performing a second set of songs comprised of fan favorites culled from all of their other releases. Dates and venues are currently being determined but fans who want the best chance of grabbing tickets should sign up for thejulianatheory.com/email_list.html where exclusive tickets will be made available first. Detar explained, “The reunion dates will be announced very soon but the shows won’t be until late summer of 2010. We did this to give our die-hard fans, far and wide, plenty of time to make travel arrangements after they get their tickets. We also did it to give us plenty of time to knock the cobwebs off and make sure these shows are top-notch. We’ll be working hard to put on the best shows possible and, in this information age, to give our fans updates and insight into the process of knocking those cobwebs off as well as input on the set-lists. I’ll be taking requests, answering questions, and posting unfiltered updates on my facebook and twitter and you can be certain we’re going to make sure these are some of the most memorable and fan-friendly shows of our career. We’re anxious to make it happen.”

BEC Signs The Museum
As the year rapidly comes to an end, BEC Recordings looks ahead to 2010 with new artist signing to their freshman class, The Museum. Involved heavily with their local church, Briarlake Church in Decatur, GA, as well as leading at North Point Community Church partner churches, this pop/rock foursome is ready to share their music with the new and loyal fans they’ve made during 175 tour dates in their first year together. “We’re excited to be working with BEC Recordings and the great team established there,” shares the band upon joining the BEC family. “We’re pumped to produce a great sounding record and get on the road as much as we can. It’s the new faces we’ll meet along the way that make traveling great.” The Museum has just finalized their debut radio single with producer Jason Ingram in Nashville, TN. The band is anxiously working out the details of their freshman album, which will release in 2010, date to be determined.
Inhale Exhale Release New Video
Cleveland’s metal alchemists INHALE EXHALE are debuting their new video for “Did You Ever Have A Touch To Lose?” this week on AOL Noisecreep. The video is the first from the band’s bombastic, career-defining third album, Bury Me Alive, out now on SolidState Records. The video can be viewed here. We wanted to go with more of a live, performance-based video this time around,” guitarist John LaRussa told Noisecreep of the dark and gritty track, which AOL called “nothing if not creepy.” The video – which also features an eerie host of hooded men and women lurking around a dilapidated warehouse where INHALE EXHALE are performing – was shot and produced by Iron Curtain Media from North Carolina. “The characters in the video represent the masks people hide behind, and this is also why the band disappears at the end of the set,” LaRussa says. “We were able to find out who we really are.” The video for “Did You Ever Have A Touch To Lose?” paints in bold strokes the message that INHALE EXHALE are sending with their new album, Bury Me Alive, which was released on October 6, 2009 – this is a band that knows exactly who they are and where they’re headed. The album was met with instant acclaim for its artful inventiveness and bone-shaking heaviness. The video comes at the tail end of INHALE EXHALE’s successful U.S. tour with buzzband IWRESTLEDABEARONCE. The band will continue its onslaught in 2010 with another extensive tour, to be announced shortly.

TobyMac Set To Release New Album
With three back-to-back RIAA Gold-certified records under his belt, five GRAMMY® Awards, and now his fourth solo GRAMMY® nomination as well, GMA’s 2008 Artist of the Year, TobyMac, will release his fourth studio project, “TONIGHT” on February 9th. “TONIGHT” is getting a great head start this fall with TobyMac’s hit single, “City On Our Knees,” the fastest charting and selling track in his career. The single has already sold over 133,000 copies and has hit No. 1 on the top 100 Hot Digital Tracks chart as well as on the Billboard Top Singles chart. In addition, it held the No. 1 spot on both the National Christian Audience chart for 9 weeks as well as SoundScan’s Christian Digital Track chart for eleven weeks. “City On Our Knees” was fervently embraced at radio with 96 stations adding it to their playlist in the first three weeks, and sped to No.1 on AC Monitored and at CHR, while currently No.3 at AC Indicator. Produced by TobyMac along with Chris Stevens (Portable Sounds), Jamie Moore (Ayiesha Smith, Stephanie Woods) and Dave Wyatt (a.k.a. “D-dub) also his musical director, TobyMac has spent the last two and a half years creating “TONIGHT,” in a recording process that he doesn’t take lightly: “The recording process means a lot to me, and I don’t approach what I do haphazardly” he says. “I have a lot of passion when it comes to my records. I don’t know if it’s good or bad, but there’s this range of emotions that come with making a record. Music is something that can actually open people’s minds to who God is. Music will never change the world, but God can choose to use music, and that’s what I count on. I want my songs to be said in a way that anyone can relate to them. I want them to move people’s lives forward; move people toward God, and if I’m accomplishing that, whether or not anyone loves this record, as long as I feel like that is what I’m doing, then I feel like my job is done.” As with previous TobyMac projects, “TONIGHT” also features special guest collaborations and a diversity of musical styles. The title track brings in John Cooper of Skillet, while “Wonderin’” features Matthew Thiessen of Relient K, and Nirva Ready belts her vocals on “Changed Forever.” A true highlight, and one of the most anticipated moments is with TruDog, TobyMac’s 10 year old son Truett’s, full song debut with the track “LoudNClear.” In an effort to offer only the best variety to TobyMac’s audience, “TONIGHT” will be available as a physical CD and in digital form, both of which will feature bonus remixes and behind the scenes video. TobyMac is currently on the road on his annual Winter Wonder Slam tour and will announce exciting 2010 tour plans soon.

Tonex Gets Grammy Nomination
The Grammy nod is the latest accolade for TONEX’s “Unspoken” album. The New York Times called it “… a vibrant admixture of secular and spiritual. … Sometimes he’s channeling Babyface’s sensualism (”Glorex”), sometimes he’s a funk eccentric in the Prince mold (”When I Call”), but always faith is near. …” It’s also been named “Top Gospel CD of 2009? by amazon.com. “Bring It,” another single from “Unspoken,” was featured during CBS March Madness 2009 and on “MLB Tonight”. TONEX is a visionary artist who has built his career by pushing the envelope of what’s regarded as “Gospel Music.” His music couches raw, honest lyrics in cutting-edge mainstream-music production techniques — then delivers it all via a four-octave vocal range that’s the envy of singers of all genres. L. Michael Gipson of Soul Tracks calls TONEX “… arguably the most multi-talented composer, arranger, producer and male singer gospel music has birthed in the last quarter century.” TONEX shares his Grammy nomination with The Foreign Exchange, Robert Glasper & Bilal, India Arie & Dobet Gnahore, Eric Roberson, and Ben O’Neill & Michelle Thompson. The 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Switchfoot To Play BCS Tailgate Party
SWITCHFOOT will kick off 2010 with a performance on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on Monday, January 4th. Later that week, the band will be one of two groups playing the ESPN National Championship Tailgate, which will take place at the Rose Bowl Stadium just before the Alabama Crimson Tide face the Texas Longhorns in the Citi BCS National Championship Game on January 7th. The band has been playing sold-out shows since November, coinciding with the release of its latest album, Hello Hurricane, which debuted in the Top 15 of The Billboard 200. The North American tour, which has been extended through January, features SWITCHFOOT playing Hello Hurricane in its entirety, followed by an assortment of fan favorites from its previous albums. SWITCHFOOT will continue to collect donations for local food banks along the way, so fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to the shows. (See below for the itinerary and a list of food banks that will receive donations.) “Mess Of Me,” the lead single from Hello Hurricane, is used in the trailer and television commercials for Samuel Goldwyn’s Films’ “To Save A Life,” which will be released on January 22nd. The track has also been tapped for use by NHL Music Nights on Fox Sports Net and by ESPN for college football bumpers. Numerous other tracks from Hello Hurricane have been licensed – “The Sound (John M. Perkins’ Blues)” was used in the recent Verizon Wireless ad campaign for the BlackBerry® Storm™ 2 while “Bullet Soul” was selected for WWE’s “TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs” pay-per-view. “Yet” was heard in The CW’s new hit show, “The Vampire Diaries,” while the network’s “One Tree Hill” used six minutes of the epic “Your Love Is A Song” to close a recent episode. Recorded with producer/bassist Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Rilo Kiley, Eminem, and Pink), Hello Hurricane is SWITCHFOOT’s seventh full-length and its first on Atlantic Records. The band was featured in a Rolling Stone “In The Studio” piece and on the cover of Relevant Magazine while the new album was a critic’s pick in USA Today’s Fall Music feature. “On ‘Needle and Haystack Life,’ singer Jon Foreman works his breathy croon over surging pop-punk guitars; ‘This Is the Sound’ has a brutish, heavy-metal vibe; ‘Enough’ rides a percolating art-folk groove; and ‘Bullet Soul’ could be something by Swedish garage rock band the Hives,” said Billboard while Alternative Press hailed the title track as “an uplifting, hope-giving affirmation of resurgence.” Band members Jon Foreman (vocals/guitar), Tim Foreman (bass), Chad Butler (drums), Jerome Fontamillas (keys/guitar) and Drew Shirley (guitar) are continually seeking new ways to convey that message of hope. In that spirit, that they are launching a new website, which will spotlight goodness, beauty, and truth in everyday life. Fans are invited to contribute stories about people they know who are making this world a better place. With the holidays quickly approaching, Jon Foreman addressed the timely topic of “Compassion vs. Consumption” in the second of two articles he penned for The Huffington Post.

Gungor News
Gungor, alongside Brash Music, will release Beautiful Things, a collection of songs birthed out of an honest journey of faith on February 16, 2010. “This album is an expression of hope that God will make beautiful things out of the dust in our lives,” explains band front man Michael Gungor. “That God will somehow use us, use our obedience and love, our feeble human effort, and build Himself a kingdom.” Formerly known as The Michael Gungor Band, the socially active, Denver-based foursome is comprised of Michael Gungor, his wife Lisa, as well as friends Brad Waller (guitar) and Josh Harvey (bass). Gungor hits the scene with a different perspective than most bands as the lead singer is perhaps best known for co-writing distinguished songs like “Friend of God” and “Say So” made famous by Israel Houghton. The music is not the only impressive thing about Gungor, as likewise the band is also incredibly involved in missions both in their hometown and abroad. Michael and his wife moved to Denver and eventually founded a community of believers called Bloom. The connection between worship and social justice became concrete in Denver with regular involvement with the homeless & needy of that area, and the outcome is evident on Beautiful Things. The group of four also headed to Africa in late September to further their involvement with the Mocha Club, an online community of people funding relief and development projects in Africa including clean water, education, women at risk, orphan care, children, HIV/AIDS and healthcare. Ironically, most of the music is not directly about caring for the poor and ministering to widows and orphans. Instead, much of the album addresses the spiritual journey and the understanding of God that happens when we do these acts. The self-produced album’s credits, which reflect a loose and varying lineup, include Gungor’s wife Lisa on glockenspiel along with bandmates on horns, strings, banjos, a melodica, “foot-stomping mayhem” and Gungor’s now-signature toy piano. Filled with unique instrumentation, the album features original songs such as “The Earth is Yours,” “Dry Bones” and “Call Me Out.” Israel Houghton even guests on a bass-driven romp called “Heaven.” The band’s 2008 debut on Brash Music, Ancient Skies, garnered critical acclaim. Beautiful Things will be the band’s sophomore release, and the third CD release for Michael Gungor.

INHALE EXHALE's Release Video for "Did You Ever Have a Touch to Lose." Debuts this week on AOL's Noisecreep. First video release from new album, Bury Me Alive

“We wanted to go with more of a live, performance-based video this time around,” guitarist John LaRussa told Noisecreep of the dark and gritty track, which AOL called “nothing if not creepy.” The video – which also features an eerie host of hooded men and women lurking around a dilapidated warehouse where INHALE EXHALE are performing – was shot and produced by Iron Curtain Media from North Carolina. “The characters in the video represent the masks people hide behind, and this is also why the band disappears at the end of the set,” LaRussa says. “We were able to find out who we really are.”

The video for “Did You Ever Have A Touch To Lose?” paints in bold strokes the message that INHALE EXHALE are sending with their new album, Bury Me Alive, which was released on October 6, 2009 – this is a band that knows exactly who they are and where they’re headed.

-NOISECREEP

“Bury Me Alive blows all of INHALE EXHALE’S previous work out of the water… the entire album is fresh, hard-hitting, and very creative.”
Inhale Exhale Film New Video
With the release of their sucker-punch of a third album, Bury Me Alive, on 10/6, Cleveland, Ohio art-metalers INHALE EXHALE shifted into high gear with the filming of a new video for lead single “Did You Ever Have A Touch To Lose?”. Shot near Greensboro, NC on September 28, the video echoes the push-and-pull tension of “Did You Ever Have A Touch To Lose?” – the ferocious riffage juxtaposed with singer Ryland Raus’ pleading melodies, the snarling screams colliding with the frantic guitar leads – with its striking usage of lighting in the darkest contexts. “We wanted it to be a feeling of being surrounded,” says guitarist and primary songwriter John LaRussa. “There is going to be a lot of live performance shots, and a lot of lights and blinders going on.” Coinciding with the video shoot is the stream of a third track (and album opener) from Bury Me Alive, “Rooms,” on INHALE EXHALE’s MySpace page which was posted on September 29th. With each released track, the band demonstrates in no uncertain terms that Bury Me Alive marks a sea change for an irrepressible young force in metal music.

Austrian Death Machine Stream New Single
Austrian Death Machine pump “Iron Fist” on their myspace! With the new album releasing this week, Tim Lambesis adds: “Ahhnold and I were able to put together an entire CD full of great cover songs related to his movies. Since we released one song from the originals disc already, we figured it was time for everyone to hear a cover as well. Even now you’ve only heard less than 1/10 of the album, so make sure to pick up the whole thing on Tuesday!” Ahhnold enthusiasts and metalheads will have a chance to catch Austrian Death Machine live soon on the west coast.

Victory Releases Before There Was Rosalyn
Five boys from Houston Texas who attest that they are a ministry first and a band second, Before There Was Rosalyn is the kind of band that strives to become more than just the sum of their parts. With a passion and sincerity that’s all too real in a world where so many things are not, they invite you into their lives and their struggles, hoping to share in yours. After extensive touring, and a great response to their 2008 release “As Far As The Moon From The Sun,” this post-hardcore act has set out to make a powerful statement with their Victory debut entitled THE FUHRER: An Allegory Of A History Of Deception, an album about humanity’s potential to create and its power to destroy. With a release date of 10/27/09, THE FUHRER is a bold and emotional journey into the heart of a humanity left to its own devices. Characterized by a sound of driving beats, powerful lyrics, and tasteful songwriting, Before There Was Rosalyn is here to remind us that music is still the best way for us to offer the only thing of value we really have to offer one another: our hearts. “This record is for our generation,” Vocalist Carlos Salazar conveys. “It’s for all of us. This is about humanity. It’s not about the black and white lines that divide our morals or our beliefs, but the gray matter that makes up the lives we lead and the importance of the choices we make.”

White Collar Sideshow Late Summer Recap
White Collar Sideshow has had an extremely busy summer. They posted the news in their latest enewsletter: It’s hard to believe the Summer of 2009 has come and gone…we had an amazing journey. We got to hang with old friends and meet many new ones. We even hung with one of my elementary school girlfriends in Cali and stayed with friends in Colorado that were at our wedding back in ‘01! Philippians 1:3 says I thank my God every time I remember you. We are so blessed with such amazing friends and I am truly thankful for each of you!! We had The Leech (Tristen, my bonus child/T’s son) in the beginning of August for a Daystar TV show called Check The Sound. It should air within the next few months. It was so fun. Our buddies from Children 18:3 filmed the same day, so we got some good hangtime. We also filmed for the Dog Whisperer a few weeks later. That was SO amazing, such a great day. We filmed in Ventura, California at a venue called Epic. This place is INCREDIBLE. First off, it’s a venue, and that’s where we did most of our shoot. It also has a coffee shop, a theater room and a video game center. The interior design of the whole place is amazing. If you’re ever in Ventura, I highly recommend you stop by as they’re open 7 days a week-grab a cup of coffee or one of their crazy drinks in a bottle! The DW shoot was great. We started playing The Parasite Matrimony and in walks Cesar Millan. He is such a great guy-it’s like we’ve known him for years (perhaps since I’ve been watching the show for a while, lol). He is passionate about his job and truly loves dogs. As far as him whispering to my dogs…this dude is LEGIT! Seriously-they’re not 100% calm submissive, but we’re so close I can taste it. Just gotta keep working with him. This should air around January. The producers of both shows told me they would keep in touch and let me know when they air so I’ll keep you posted via facebook/myspace/twitter. If you’re not following me on twitter, our username is wcsideshow. Harvey the RV was definitely a champ this summer. We drove all the way up to Washington State for TOMFest (which was amazing), down the 101 in California (which was amazing), all throughout LA (traffic was insane), south to Carlsbad, CA (which was amazing) and back across I-40 as I’m typing this in Nashville. Harvey is a trooper for sure. We have definitely talked about an upgrade though. Nothing bigger, length wise, just engine-wise. We’re thinking a diesel would be good as Harvey’s transmission has been rebuilt once and isn’t really made to pull our 5,000lb trailer. Definitely praying about a change, anyways. I mentioned last email that we got the cover of the Sept/Oct HM magazine. Such a huge blessing. If you haven’t picked up a copy-they are still in stores. We also have some we’re selling at our merch booth. We all signed the cover (even The Leech) so if your store has run out, come to a show and get one from us! We spent a lot of time at the end of August/beginning of September with our friends Sleeping Giant. Our buddy, Travis (777 Productions) who filmed all of the White Collar vids, drove out with another guy, Lee, and they collaborated with T for SG’s latest music video. It’s to the song-The Army of the Chosen One and it’s gonna be sick! We’re hoping for the release within a month or so. Keep an eye out-T of course went for creepy but it definitely has a message. Our Online Merch Store is UP!! Please check it out and support the Sideshow! We’re hoping to get new designs soon as well as a hoodie!! T and I have been asked to be on the board of directors for RYFO as artist liaisons. We absolutely love RYFO and everyone associated has been incredible. RYFO was established to holistically care for the unique physical, emotional and spiritual needs of touring musicians. If you sign up on their page, we would love for you to “adopt” us! We are currently on the road and I am still booking shows for the rest of the year, even into next year. We’re working our way up to New York with a weekend stop in Maryland for the Unified Underground Conference next month. If you have that weekend off, you should definitely join us! You can see all of our dates on our page. If you are interested in booking the sideshow, please email me at whitecollarsideshow@hotmail.com We have played at all different venues, churches, groups, bars, clubs, conventions and festivals. We would love the opportunity to challenge, inspire and love on everyone in your group! Mid-November, we are doing a week long tour with The Great Transparency, the tour is called “A Night of Transparency.” I’m still needing to fill a few dates that week as well. It will primarily be in the eastern US. We are hoping to spend January in California. We figured SoCal would be a great place to hang in the winter. We played some great shows while we were there in Aug/Sept and are looking forward to more next year.

Family Force 5 To Do Christmas Tour
On 11/28th, “The Family Force 5’s Christmas Pageant” first annual tour will kick off in Grand Rapids, MI. The Atlanta-based band’s combination of dance and rock, funky rhythms and percolating club grooves will get anyone up out of their seats. “The Family Force 5’s Christmas Pageant” tour promises to be no different, putting the Family Force 5 touch on classic holiday tunes and age-old favorites. The inspiration for the tour comes from The Family Force 5 Christmas Pageant album, set to release on 10/6. In accordance with the holiday spirit and in an effort to give back to the communities that “The Family Force 5’s Christmas Pageant” will be visiting, Family Force 5 has asked that their fans bring canned goods for donation to local food banks. Family Force 5 is currently ruling the road with their very own “DANCE RAWR DANCE 3” tour, powering the rise of their most recent album, DANCE OR DIE. The tour has already proven a huge success, but the band, feeling no need to slow down, wants to bring their notoriously crazy style on the road with them throughout the holidays as well. “We encourage fans to dress up in costumes, whether it be a killer whale, a big chicken or a Skeletor outfit,” says guitarist Chap Stique. Or a Santa Clause suit! Family Force 5’s recent notable partnership with Target and Skelanimals has also been drawing national attention lately – The Target EP exclusive “Keep The Party Alive” features six songs including the new title track and enhanced DVD video. “Keep The Party Alive” debuted at #12 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Album Chart this week!

The Elms Self-Release 4th Album
The Elms debut on Billboard Heatseekers chart with fourth album ‘The Great American Midrange’ released via the band’s own label in conjunction with A2M Distribution and Warner Chappell. They had their best first week sales ever for as radio support continues to grow across the country. THE GREAT AMERICAN MIDRANGE–the latest set for Indiana foursome THE ELMS–debuted at #18 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart this week and #1 on the Heatseekers chart for the East North Central region. It follows the band’s weeklong promotional tour of appearing on national & regional radio including The Bob & Tom Show, performing at Best Buy in-stores and special release week concerts, and making a high profile appearance live at a Chicago White Sox game. The fourth album from the band also sees their best first-week sales ever, exceeding those of all three previous major label releases. Released on their own label TRUST Incorporated, in conjunction with Artist 2 Market (A2M) Distribution–who have also had recent success with independent albums from Dolly Parton, Hurt and Spinal Tap and whose support of THE ELMS’ record has been substantial–and Warner Chappell, the album was co-produced by THE ELMS and longtime collaborator Brent Milligan; engineered and mixed by Adam Kasper (Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age); and mastered by the legendary Bob Ludwig (Rolling Stones, U2, Pearl Jam, REM, Radiohead). THE ELMS build solidly upon a tradition that stretches from The Band to Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, with deep roots in the muddy working soul of their home country. In the eight years since its inception, the band–Owen Thomas (Vocals, Guitar), Christopher Thomas (Drums), Nathan W. Bennett (Bass) and Thomas Daugherty (Guitar)–have become an extremely tight unit, embodying the hard-working values that they sing about. Radio support behind rousing first single “Back to Indiana”–which debuted on television in May as part of national coverage of the Indianapolis 500–and AOR single “Strut” has been steadily growing all over the country. THE ELMS will be on the road in support of THE GREAT AMERICAN MIDRANGE throughout the fall, including confirmed headline shows and support dates with Cowboy Mouth, Pat McGee and a special Halloween performance with Better Than Ezra. See below for current tour dates and look for additional dates to be announced soon. Since forming in 2001, THE ELMS have played more than 700 shows sharing stages in the U.S. and Europe with artists as diverse as Band of Horses, Shooter Jennings, Neil Young, the Fratellis, Switchfoot, Goo Goo Dolls and Buddy Guy. They also had the opportunity to perform alongside fellow Seymour, IN-native John Mellencamp at Farm Aid.

Dreampilots Debut Album Out Now
Comedown, the highly anticipated American debut album from Norway-based foursome Dreampilots, has officially landed on U.S. shores through Red Hammer Records and E1 Entertainment Distribution (formerly Koch Entertainment). While new to stateside audiences, the Dreampilots have already found fame and fanfare in its homeland thanks to their debut album If You Ever Come Down (2005), international touring and performances at such world renowned venues as Oslo’s Valle Hovin (which has literally hosted every prominent music act including the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Madonna and more). It also doesn’t hurt that the band is comprised of music veterans with an incredible track record. Frontman Oddi Nessa is a former Word Records UK artist, and bass player Gulleiv Wee is a founding member of the platinum selling pop band The September When. The pair was later joined by sought after keyboard player Inge Engelsvold and drummer Karl Oluf Wennerberg, who is also the current drummer for legendary Norwegian band a-ha, best known for their global smash hit “Take On Me.” The imagery created by the band’s name is intentional. “It comes from our fascination for planes and flying, we like the word ‘dream,’ plus we want to pilot people to the Lord,” explains Gulleiv. Adds Karl, “For me it reflects some of the mission in the band. We want people to fly away from daily life, both mentally and spiritually. When people are traveling, they are more open minded, and based on our stories, hopefully this can point people to God and their ultimate salvation.” Earning comparisons as diverse as U2, Switchfoot and Foo Fighters, the Dreampilots consider themselves to be the cure for musical and spiritual complacency. “We wanted simple, catchy and energetic music that would have humor and depth at the same time,” explains Inge of the songs that make up Comedown. “It’s about facing the real world and taking the fight head on – not the easy way out,” adds Oddi of the theme that runs throughout the record. “We want to play great music that can change people’s lives and write songs that matter. We want to reach young and old and make a difference by singing from the heart and sing about the cross in an honest and truthful way.”

Confide Cancels UK/European Tour
In an unfortunate turn of events, Los Angeles based Confide have announced that they have cancelled their UK / European tour that was scheduled for the month of October due to failed contractual obligations on part of the promotion agency. “We were really disappointed and disheartened when we had to cancel the tour” singer Ross Kenyon said. “This would have been my first tour with the band back home to the UK and it was something we were greatly looking forward to. We’re hoping to reschedule dates after the release of our next record.” In a classic good news/bad news situation, the band is now freed up to work on writing their sophomore album which is already scheduled to be recorded with Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Attack Attack, Asking Alexandria, etc.) in December.

Cryptacize Start A Tour With Sufjan
Recently, Cryptacize and Sufjan Stevens began their tour in Philadelphia. We imagine it will be very exciting as both put on a truly terrific show. Unfortunately these tours dates are all sold out. But fret not! Cryptacize tours on! On 10/10th, Cryptacize will trade in Sufjan and his pals for another set of Brooklyn-based musicians: The Fiery Furnaces. Together, along with Dent May, they will tour from Hoboken (Jersey not Georgia) to the always-sunny palm-kissed LA in November, with a little Canada tucked in there for good measure. It’s on Cryptacize’s own blog (replete with out-of-sight mixes and so-so funny pictures!) that we read with great sadness that this coast-to-coast tour may be the last chance to catch them live for a while. Don’t let the opportunity, and Cryptacize playing in your city, pass you by!
