Taking inspiration from George A. Romero and just in time for Halloween, House of Heroes premieres a new lyric video today for the song ‘Lovesick Zombie’. The song was written by House of Heroes and produced by Mark Lee Townsend who worked on the band’s albums “The End Is Not The End” and “Suburba”. The single will be available at all digital outlets on October 18.

“This started, like most things with us, as a joke. Everyone was making Christmas EPs and we were thinking what other holidays that would work with. So we adjusted the lyrics to an older song and came up with Lovesick Zombie! It’s just a silly and fun good time“

HOUSE OF HEROES PREMIERES NEW VIDEO FOR ‘SO FAR AWAY’ TODAY AT www.thehouseofheroes.com. BAND OFFERS BONUS TRACK AS FREE DOWNLOAD

House of Heroes premieres a new music video today for the single ‘So Far Away’. The video features personal home movie footage taken over the years by the band.

“This is an interesting song because it can be applied so many different ways. For the video we took the approach of telling the story of us as a band. We’ve been making music together for half of our lives, and we’re still struggling a lot of times trying to do it. The video shows the ups and downs of everything we’ve been through together. It fits with the song because even though we are far from being rich and famous, we love what we do and the hope that we hold on to is that we can inspire people with our music. Isaac Deitz was an obvious choice as a director for this video because he is a fantastic storyteller that we could trust telling our story because he has known us for so many years. Isaac had nearly 70 hours of footage to sift through when editing the video that we’re hoping to maybe someday turn into a documentary of sorts” explains frontman Tim Skipper.

The band is also offering a free download of a ‘Suburba’ bonus track called ‘The Voices Of Suburba’ now available at www.facebook.com/houseofheroes

“Our vocals have become quite a signature of our sound over the past few releases. Specifically the old school way we stand around one mic together to do group harmonies. Our producer Mark Lee Townsend took all of the group vocals we did on Suburba and created a “remix” of sorts to showcase the vocals” explains Tim Skipper.

The band’s latest release SUBURBA has been met with critical acclaim, Alternative Press Magazine said “Suburba shows off what the masses have been missing: catchy pop songs with well-written lyrics. Suburba’s songs remain full of power while retaining the delicate touch of songwriting craftsmanship“ while HM deemed it a “Radiant sparkle and layers on chain-gang vocals and multiple harmonies” and Absolute Punk wrote “Tim Skipper has one of the best voices I’ve heard in a long, long time“.

Gotee Record’s Holiday Compilation ‘TIS THE SEASON TO BE GOTEE Chosen as a $5 Album on Amazon.com
Stephanie Smith Releases Christmas Digital Single ‘I Celebrate The Day’ Thru Online Stores

Amazon.com is giving a special Christmas gift to music lovers everywhere. To help celebrate the holiday season, as they have added Gotee Record’s holiday compilation ‘Tis the Season To Be Gotee’ to their music promotion, offering the project for the low price of $5 for the entire month of December.

Gotee has long been known for their past Christmas projects for individual artists, however ‘Tis The Season To Be Gotee is the first full length holiday compilation that the label has created. ‘Tis the Season To Be Gotee features artists such as Relient K, House of Heroes, Ayieshia Woods, Stephanie Smith and Abandon Kansas, each performing songs that have never before been available for purchase.

To coincide with this special pricing, Stephanie Smith released the single ‘I Celebrate the Day,’ yesterday on multiple digital music stores, as well as to all radio formats. After it’s debut earlier this fall on the Gotee Records holiday compilation ‘Tis the Season to be Gotee, ‘I Celebrate the Day’ is available by itself, or in a Christmas EP that also features the young artist’s versions of the songs ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘Jingle Bell Rock.’ Originally penned and recorded by Relient K, ‘I Celebrate the Day’ truly encompasses the spirit of this most cherished of seasons.

Stephanie Smith began performing the song during TobyMac’s Winter Wonder Slam tour in 2009. Due to the overwhelming response, Gotee Records quickly knew they needed to record the song and add it to this special Christmas project. Mark Lee Townsend who produced the Relient K version of the song, was enlisted to be a part of the recording as well, so not only does the project keep the original spirit of the song, it takes on a whole new flavor with Stephanie’s unique approach and style.

The song “I Celebrate the Day” is currently being added to stations in multiple formats across the country, just as many stations turn primarily to Christmas music after the Thanksgiving holiday.

A New Showbread Album Looms
Showbread harbors some strange tendencies when it comes to music and art. Hardcore punk, pop, alternative and industrial are only a few of the genres that make up the bizarre amalgamation that is Showbread’s self described “Raw Rock” sound. Stranger still is the way one genre devours another on each new Showbread record, jarring and dividing their fan base every time. On the band’s sixth album Who Can Know It?—which will be released as a free download through Comeandlive.com on November 16th, 2010—Showbread showcases their most grandiose stylistic shift like a badge, and rightfully so, it’s the best the band has ever sounded. Earlier this year Showbread announced not only their departure from longtime home Tooth And Nail records (one of the largest independent record labels in the world) but also their intentions to partner with non-profit organization Come&Live! and offer their subsequent album and its supporting tour both as gifts; completely free of charge. Who would fund the album? The fans… and quickly; within one week of Showbread’s 90 day fundraiser the band had raised the entire album budget by offering special pre-order gifts to donors. Before the 90 days ended they had raised several times as much. With absolutely no mainstream popularity and no record label Showbread raised more money than most independent record labels can offer a band of their size to record an album. Times have certainly changed. Singer Josh Dies acknowledges the crumbling state of the music industry but insists the Showbread’s new model wasn’t in the same spirit as, say, Radiohead or Trent Reznor. “Even considering the sorry state the industry is in, the move wasn’t about reinventing the wheel, it was about believing in a message of hope so sincerely that you’d much rather hand it out as a gift than charge someone for it.” The message in question comes to full flower both sonically and lyrically on Who Can Know It?: the band’s most sincere and developed sounding effort to date. Teaming once again with long-time production collaborators Sylvia Massy (Prince, Tool, Johnny Cash) and Rich Veltrop (Phantom Planet, Slayer) familiar listeners have come to expect the unexpected, but will they expect a record this unexpected? Those expecting traces of Showbread’s blistering Refused and Nine Inch Nails influences might be more than a little surprised to find the latest change finds the band sounding like a Raw Rock version of The Eagles and R.E.M. If those same listeners can recover from the initial shock they’ll go on to find the most expanded, earnest, heartbreaking and original music of Showbread’s career; piano driven ballads, haunting vocal melodies, simultaneously dark and uplifting lyrics, dense layers of instrumentation and a notable lack of power chords or screaming vocals. It seems that Raw Rock has developed to a completely unexpected full maturity; Raw Rock is all grown up. Who Can Know It? will be released as a free download on Comeandlive.com and to traditional online media outlets on November 16th, 2010. Showbread will begin their first completely free tour in early 2011. The chameleon we’ve come to know and love as Showbread has unveiled an album teaser for their upcoming Come and Live release Who Can Know It? The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9

Dustin Kensrue Releases Christmas Album
Dustin Kensrue’s Christmas music album, This Good Night Is Still Everywhere, is available now for the first time on limited edition vinyl. The solo, mostly–acoustic collection was originally issued as a digital-only release in 2008. This new vinyl edition features two bonus tracks, including a cover of mewithoutYou’s “A Stick, A Carrot & String.” For fans that previously purchased the digital album, the two additional songs will be available for individual download at all digital retailers. “I was really excited to be able to put this out on vinyl,” said Kensrue, “especially since we didn’t even have time to release it on CD before.” Only 1,000 hand-numbered pieces of vinyl will be pressed and will be split in two colorways – 500 red and 500 green. The package is $15 (plus shipping) and features brand new artwork, liner notes with track descriptions written by Dustin himself, includes a digital download card and can be purchased here. Kensrue, who is also vocalist and guitarist for Southern California’s Thrice, wrote, recorded, and produced This Good Night Is Still Everywhere, while mixing duties were handled by Thrice guitarist Teppei Teranishi. In December Kensrue will once again be joining Matt Pryor (The Get Up Kids, The New Amsterdams), Chris Conley (Saves The Day, Two Tongues) and Anthony Raneri (Bayside) for another Where’s The Band? tour on the east coast.
Tour Dates:
12/8 – Cambridge, MA
12/9 – Baltimore, MD
12/10 – Philadelphia, PA
12/11 – Brooklyn, NY
12/12 – New York, NY

Chapter 14 Is A New Band Featuring Chad Ackerman
Though Chapter 14 features two members of recently departed metal-core unit Destroy The Runner, 14 was in the works long before their tenure in Runner. Vocalist Chad Ackerman (who has also spent time as a guitarist in As I Lay Dying and vocalist in Austrian Death Machine) says “Me and Tanner [Sparks] were doing Chapter 14 full time before we were asked to join Destroy The Runner in 2006.” The original Chapter 14 also included future members of Confide, Chiodos and In Fear And Faith. Ackerman reveals “We did two full U.S. tours on our own, which I actually booked through MySpace and opened up for As I Lay Dying a number of times. The band had a following but we never got a chance to record so towards the end of Runner we were into recording these songs and touching them up with some of our newer influences.” The result is the forthcoming EP Like Trees In November which has Sparks taking on the role of guitarist, bassist and drummer recorded in his own Sparks Studios. Ackerman who is known for his soaring melodic vocals has delivered his best work here with a confident and powerful range. The music is technical with a post-hardcore attack and at times metallic drums pushing it forward but make no mistake this is vulnerable and emotional rock. Ackerman reveals “Chapter 14 is actually the most poignant chapter in my favorite book, Watership Down.” Watership Down is a popular novel written by English author Richard Adams about a group of rabbits who encounter death and destruction from all around them while searching for a safe home. “Chapter 14 [of Watership Down] is actually titled “Like Trees In November” and it’s in this chapter that the main rabbits go to persuade their friends to leave the rabbit farm where they live and warn them that the farmer who runs it will destroy them. However none of the rabbits on the farm believe the main characters and think that they are lying. The main characters have to leave their friends behind knowing it is their doom. While the songs on the EP aren’t entirely about Watership Down, relationships including the types that the rabbit shared are a central topic.” Producer Brian Grider recorded vocals and handled mixing and mastering on the EP at his own SCM Recordings. Long time friend Matt Geise of Lower Definition adds guest vocals to the song “Moth And Rust.”

Listen To New Affiance Song
Bullet Tooth will release the debut album “No Secret Revealed” from Cleveland’s own Affiance on November 30, 2010. “Affiance”, meaning to betroth in trust and confidence, is a name that can be taken to heart as these guys have banded together and endured every trial a new band faces. Affiance kicked down doors, shattering expectations, and broke the mold of how metal “should” sound, and are confident that they present a new breed of metal that is intense, with vocals that soar, and live performances that leave the harshest critics in awe. “We are very excited and we believe, with the help of Bullet Tooth, we will be able to work harder, push further, and accomplish more than we ever have before,” says Brett Wondrak (Guitar). The album is 10 songs of intricately written metal fused with harmonies and vocals that will leave the listener humming along after the first listen. Lyrically Affiance touch on political and religious themes, and lyricist and vocalist Dennis Tvrdik commented, “We are a band that strongly believes in the pursuit of truth and happiness. In order to achieve these ideals we must delve into concepts and that we often don’t want to think about. We hope that through our music we can inspire people to think for themselves and be pro-active in society”. The band wrapped up a recent full US tour with their friends in Across The Sun (Metal Blade) and No Bragging Rights (Blk Heart Group) and gained tons of new fans in the process. Most importantly, scoring a record deal. When Bullet Tooth Pres. Josh Grabelle saw the band on this tour, he said, “These guys were one of the best live bands I had ever seen. I truly needed to see them play live to make sure Dennis’ vocals weren’t studio magic, and they certainly weren’t! I was blown away. The whole band was incredible, and the songs on this album are gonna knock people’s socks off.” It should also be noted that the night Affiance played in NJ there was a hurricane with 60+ MPH winds and rain… proving nothing will stop Bullet Tooth from seeking out the best new music! Brett commented on the album, “Releasing No Secret Revealed is an incredible milestone for us. This album is basically the result of us locking ourselves in a room and not coming out until we had songs we all loved. It was pretty intense. Half the time we were productive and the other half we were ready to throw each other out the window. We really pushed ourselves, both musically and lyrically, and what we walked away with was better than any of us had anticipated. It was through the hardship and stress that we established our identity. This album is a testimony of how far perseverance and hard work can take you.” You can listen to two new songs from the forthcoming album “No Secret Revealed” on their Myspace page. Check out “Dissent!” (Featuring James Baney from The Devil Wears Prada) and “Call To The Warrior”.

Visible School News
This note from the President, Ken Steorts, shares some cool news regarding their funding for moving into their new building: I have an amazing, special announcement: An anonymous donor has announced a challenge match for this week only. Until next Monday morning, any gift we receive will be matched dollar for dollar before our matching foundation match. That’s right, every dollar is matched and then that doubled amount is doubled again – 4x, this week only! That’s leverage of giving if you want to support what we are working on here in Memphis with young musicians! Penny jars and rock stars jumping on this cool and generous offer – Memphis never ceases to amaze me in generosity.
Take a look at the making of “Courage,” the new video from Orianthi and Flyleaf’s Lacey Mosley. “The idea for the music video was to really bring the lyrics to life by interspersing my and Lacey’s performance with images that we think project courage,” said Orianthi. The singer also let fans in on a secret – she’s not a very good driver. “We had lots of different scenes; the first one was set in an RV, driving around… thank god [Lacey] was driving, otherwise we’d probably end up in the closest tree!” Luckily for Orianthi she has her guitar to fall back on – “I love her playing guitar – I’ve never seen a girl play like her, she’s really strong and powerful,” Lacey shared.

Mr. Talkbox Signs To Save The City Records
Artist and performer extraordinaire, Byron “Mr. Talkbox” Chambers has signed with Seattle-based Save the City Records. The deal includes a number of future projects in addition to the label release of Chambers’ popular My Time CD today through Save The City Records/Provident-Integrity Distribution. “Byron brings energy and joy wherever he goes,” declares Derek Hoiem, president of Save the City Records. “His enthusiasm for life and his excellence shines whether he’s onstage with tobyMac or performing as a solo artist. Byron has brought his multi-faceted musical talents to many Grammy-winning and Dove-award winning platforms, and now we have a chance to showcase his career as a solo artist. He is a perfect fit in our artist family and he shares our passion for excellence in music and in ministry.” “I am very excited to partner with Save The City Records!” comments Chambers. “Derek Hoiem’s vision is exactly what I’ve been praying for to happen in this music industry — someone who’s cutting edge and excited about bringing new talent that can not only reach the church, but the world at large! So, let’s go!” The Orlando-born performer is no stranger to the stage or the recording studio. Chambers grew up in a musical household where he was exposed to everything from Gospel to Jazz, but the one particular sound that captured his heart and imagination was the Talkbox. He heard it used by R&B Funk Master Roger Troutman and knew immediately that he had to make it his own.His excellence as a writer, arranger, musician and performer opened doors for him, and Chambers soon found himself performing alongside such Gospel greats as Jonathan Butler, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Fred Hammond, CeCe Winans, Kurt Carr and Bishop T.D. Jakes, to name just a few. Chambers’ career exploded with he was offered a shot at playing keys with mega-pop band *NSYNC, and he has since toured and performed with pop superstars like the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, O-Town, Gloria Estefan and Jordan Knight. But as heady as the bright lights of fame and fortune can be, it can also take a toll. Chambers took a good hard look at where his life was headed, and he didn’t like what he saw. He decided to step away from *NSYNC in order to focus more time on his wife and family. “God told me at the height of my blossoming career to leave the road and dedicate my life to him, and he would bless my music to minister to the world,” Chambers says simply. And God has been faithful to His Word. Chambers connected with hiphop superstar tobyMac and was featured on the Grammy-nominated, Dove Award winning projects Welcome to Diverse City and Portable Sounds. He won his own Dove Award for Hip Hop Song of the Year for co-writing the Group 1 Crew song “Movin.” He did guests spots for such influential artists as Martha Munizzi, O-Town and American Idol finalist Danny Gokey. “Byron ‘Mr. Talkbox’ Chambers has the unique ability to make brilliant music that not only motivates and inspires the heart and soul, but makes you wanna get up and dance!” says Gokey.
Chambers’ debut independent solo CD, My Testimony, impacted sales in more than 17 countries and went on to become one of CDBaby.com’s top sellers. Mr. Talkbox’s latest project, My Time, is set to impact an even broader audience, due to his new relationship with Save the City Records and Provident-Integrity Distribution. My Time has already made quite an impact with its first radio single, “Ground Zero,” cracking the Top 10 on the Rhythmic Charts. Jesus Freak Hideout declared, “Chambers expertly lays down the beats…leading to a very catchy and infectious record.” “Mr. Talkbox is bringin’ new flavor to our industry,” says tobyMac. “He has been on the road with me for over a year now and his heart is as big as his hooks. The Mac household has his CD in regular rotation. For real!”

As They Sleep Reveal New Track
Motor City metal act, As They Sleep, has updated their official MySpace and Facebook pages with a brand new song, taken from the band’s forthcoming full-length record, Dynasty, entitled, “The Darkest Ages”. “The Darkest Ages” joins three other recently revealed tracks from As They Sleep’s Solid State Records debut, which are currently streaming at their MySpace and their Facebook. Dynasty will hit stores later this month on November 22nd, and delivers a package of brutally heavy and savagely technical death metal, tied together with the help of powerhouse audio wizard, Jason Suecof (All That Remains, Chimaira, Demon Hunter). As They Sleep will support their sophomore effort on the road this December on the “Solid State Records: A Very Metal Christmas Tour”, alongside label-mates Living Sacrifice, The Showdown, Becoming the Archetype, and To Speak of Wolves.

Mike Farris Debuts High
Americana/Gospel artist Mike Farris’ new Entertainment One release, The Night The Cumberland Came Alive, debuts at #10 on the Billboard Blues Chart. The 6-song EP, released on October 26th, commemorates and celebrates the rebirth of Nashville, a city and its surrounding communities devastated by a “1,000 year” flood on May 1, 2010. Although short in length, it is not short on spirit, offering up “Farris’ trademark evangelical rock n’ roll,” as Steven Gaydos wrote recently in Variety. The project was recorded just weeks after the flood, as the people of middle Tennessee regained their civic pride and rallied to help their neighbors and rebuild. The Night The Cumberland Came Alive features an all-star cast of musicians including: Sam Bush, Kenny Vaughan (Marty Stuart), Ketch Secor and Gill Landry from Old Crow Medicine Show, Byron House (Robert Plant), as well as Ann, Regina and Alfreda McCrary (The McCrary Sisters), Derrek Phillips and Eric Holt from Farris’ own Roseland Rhythm Revue. The Night The Cumberland Came Alive, which Dustin Ogdin of No Depression called “some of the finest roots-rollicking soul and gospel you’re likely to ever hear,” rolls out a decidedly pre-war Americana sound while delivering a hopeful message of restoration. “Stylistically, pre-war American music has long been a passion of mine,” Farris says of the project. “Before the flood, we’d been searching for songs that would evoke the struggle and the victory of the working class, a sound rising up out of flesh and bone, of spit and spirit. But then, as a city, we were hit square in the gut by this unbelievable flood. And that sound meshed with the spirit of resurrection we saw rise up all over this area. When we gathered in that historic church to lay it all down, what happened was beyond our imaginations.” The title track’s lyrics deal directly with the flood, and Farris penned “Dear Lazarus” along with Ketch Secor just days before the recording. According to Mike, “Playing these songs—sight unseen, without so much as a lead sheet—and with such a dream team of musicians was the thrill of a lifetime. You can hear the passion. You can feel the love in the room. And I’m thrilled to release it to help this community get back on its feet.” This release comes hot off the heels of Farris’ recent GMA Dove Award for Best Traditional Gospel album of the year for 2009’s SHOUT! Live, a sweat-drenched document of his Sunday Night Shout residency dates at the legendary Station Inn in Nashville. The EP is also a continuation of the musical and spiritual journey that Farris began with his 2007 release, Salvation In Lights, which contributed to him receiving the 2008 Americana Music Association’s New & Emerging Artist of the Year award. The music is steeped in traditions explored on that record and widens the lens of the American treasure that it represents – roots, gospel and blues. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the EP will be used to benefit the Downtown Presbyterian Church’s ministry to the homeless in Nashville, which seems fitting as the record was recorded in less than a day at that historic building. Mike Farris is performing select dates to showcase the material on the EP in addition to performing monthly with The Roseland Rhythm Revue as part of his Sunday Night Shout residency at the Station Inn this fall. He is currently working on the full-length studio follow-up to Salvation In Lights, which is scheduled to release sometime in 2011.
The Chariot Announce New Album
Georgia’s THE CHARIOT is pleased to announce the upcoming release of their highly-anticipated new release, Long Live, on November 23rd, 2010. The record will mark the first release for the band on their new label, GOOD FIGHT MUSIC; home to such acts as CANCER BATS, MADBALL, and other heavy greats. Behind the boards on Long Live is seasoned producer Matt Goldman (UnderOath, MyChildren MyBride, Four Letter Lie), who is known for his work on several past records by THE CHARIOT, such as Wars and Rumors of Wars (2009), The Fiancée (2007), Unsung EP (2005), and Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead And Nothing Is Bleeding (2004). “This is easily my favorite material that we have ever written for an album,” affirms vocalist Josh Scogin. “I believe it is the most passionate release we have ever done, as well as the most impulsive. All of our records have a very spontaneous pulse to them, the songs are always in a constant state of evolving and growing, but for the songs for Long Live, we literally just let go. It was a very natural process and I think that comes across in the music.” Long Live is a phrase that has preceded everything from revolutions and riots to heartfelt cheers and joyous celebration. When stated alone those two words can be perceived as innocuous and tame, but pair them with a celebrated entity or righteous cause and they can conjure up the zenith of the human spirit. For THE CHARIOT to name their upcoming full-length album Long Live, one could take the implications of the title on face value as a bombastic proclamation. For those that have experienced the group perform live, the new album title will instead resonate a deep and meaningful truth. For they have witnessed the harnessed whirlwind of crafted aggression and therefore understand that Long Live is not bravado, but the manner in which the band has and shall continue to flourish. With a hard earned and accomplished sales history of over 100,000 units and years of vigorous global touring, THE CHARIOT have entrenched themselves as a standout in the hard and aggressive music movement. Founded in Douglasville, GA by vocalist and band leader Josh Scogin, THE CHARIOT forged a path for themselves with a tireless work ethic. With their 2004 debut Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead And Nothing Is Bleeding, THE CHARIOT immediately distinguished themselves from the musical masses by recording the entire album live in one take. It was an approach seldom dared by any musician, but it perfectly captured THE CHARIOT and set the tone for their performance driven ethos that remains at the core of the band’s being to this day. The following years saw the band continue to ascend through the burgeoning underground music scene with studio releases like The Fiancée and Wars and Rumors of Wars; both debuting on the Billboard Top 200 chart. While THE CHARIOT have produced a number of critically and commercially acclaimed recordings, it is their live show that shall forever live on as the beating pulse of the band’s heart. The sheer force of their thunderous live renditions, while maniacally pouring their entire physical being into each note, captivates and jolts an audience into awe and utter appreciation. The band has seen an accompanied trek of worldwide touring with every release, sharing stages with the hard and heavy elite like P.O.D, As I Lay Dying, and Every Time I Die. While their profile and reach continue to rise beyond that of their genre, their work ethic and values remain grounded in the roots of D.I.Y. punk. The band took on the painstaking yet ultimately fulfilling mission of creating hand-made artwork and liner notes for Wars and Rumors of Wars, completed by numbering the first 25,000 copies. Most people would scoff at the thought of taking on such a process, but the love of the art and a commitment to their fan base is what sails the ship of THE CHARIOT.
39 Stripes Release Debut
Tampa, Florida-based rock band 39 Stripes announces the release of its first full-length project, Beyond Broken, 10/26. The album’s debut singles “My Desire” and “Mustard Seed” are currently vying for adds at Christian AC and Rock radio, respectively. Produced by 39 Stripes lead guitarist Steve Henderlong, Beyond Broken has been two years in the making due to a slew of significant hardships for the band, both personally and professionally. Consequently, the album, which 39 Stripes describes as its “best sounding and most well written CD to date,” focuses largely on trusting God in life’s joys and heartaches. “Really, when you think about it, faith doesn’t really matter if you don’t trust God when the hard times come,” says 39 Stripes lead singer Mike Wilson. “Everything we’ve gone through the last two years–every heartache, disappointment and loss–couldn’t help but bring us closer to Him. Ultimately, we didn’t really have a choice but to trust, and that’s a message that everybody needs to cling to.” Standout track “Saving a Place” pays tribute to a family member who has passed away, while AC single “My Desire” reminds listeners what a kernel of faith is truly worth, and Rock single “Mustard Seed” serves as an anthem of praise. Even the project’s title track is an always-relevant treatise on God’s presence—and inevitable intervention—when life is handing out those proverbial lemons. In addition to the radio singles, 39 Stripes will support Beyond Broken with an extensive new media campaign, music video for “Beyond Broken,” and a headlining tour. Additional tour details are forthcoming. The album will release digitally via iTunes and other online music stores as well as to physical retail outlets via CLG Distribution. Florida natives 39 Stripes comprises Mike Wilson (lead vocals), Joe Costa (drums and percussion), Ray Schurr (bass guitar), Steve Henderlong (lead guitar, vocals) and Jason Bradley (rhythm guitars). Having released two well-received independent projects, the Saving Me A Place EP (2002) and Burn EP (2005), 39 Stripes has toured extensively, self-booking hundreds of shows and sharing the stage with top artists including Jars of Clay, newsboys, Superchick and Flyleaf. In addition to appearing on Petra’s 2005 “Farewell Tour,” 39 Stripes has showcased its talents at major festivals Atlanta Fest and Ichthus, while performing on behalf of Gibson Guitars at the summer 2005 National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show. The band has been covered by major media outlets, Billboard, Guitar World, and the St. Petersburg Times while receiving endorsements from major companies Pop Icon Clothing, GHS Strings, PRS Guitars, Evans Drumheads, and RockStar Energy Drink, among others. Most recently, 39 Stripes took first place in national restaurant chain Tijuana Flat’s Fourth Annual Music Contest.

Confide Announces Split
After six years together, hardcore rockers CONFIDE have announced they’ll officially part ways as a band upon their return from Japan. “I want to let our fans know that the break-up is a positive thing and that everyone in the band is still friends without any hard feelings,” explains lead singer ROSS KENYON. “We decided that Confide would come to an end after our Japan tour in early October.” From the group, “We do plan on playing some ‘farewell’ shows on the West Coast and we’ll announce those final dates and details once we return from Japan. We want to thank fans with these shows and let them know we truly appreciate their support over the years. It’s hard to see CONFIDE end, but we know that God has a new chapter for our lives right now. Every member of the band remains friends and the band breaking up was not due to any one person–it was a group decision.” Hardcore rockers CONFIDE released their sophomore album RECOVER (Tragic Hero Records) earlier this year. The LP ascended to the #6 spot on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, moving CONFIDE into top ranks of their genre. With their positive lyrics and passionate, anthemic music, the band earned respect from peers and the media. CONFIDE–ROSS KENYON (lead singer), JEFFREY HELBERG (Rhythm Guitar), JOSHUA PAUL (Lead Guitar), JOEL PIPER (Drums, vocals) and TREVOR VICKERS (Bass)–recently performed on the entire Vans Warped Tour 2010 this past summer. They’ve shared stage around the world since 2007 with everyone from Bring Me the Horizon and Blessthefall to Maylene & The Sons of Disaster and From First to Last, among others: their show cemented them as a veritable live presence.

Fans Spark “Save Blue Like Jazz Movie” Campaign
Two Nashville, Tenn. based men have launched a viral campaign to raise $125,00 in only one month to save the making of “Blue Like Jazz,” the movie based on the book of the same title from New York Times’ Bestselling Author Donald Miller. With over 20 days to go, the online efforts have already surpassed the halfway mark in only six days and have caused an unparalleled stir on www.kickstarter.com, the site where fans can donate to the making of the film, causing it to be the most popular project on the website. Miller’s Blue Like Jazz has sold 1.3 million copies to date, and the writing of the movie’s screenplay was even highlighted in his latest New York Times bestseller A Million Miles In A Thousands Years. The movie, to be directed by Steve Taylor, was set to start production in Nashville, Tenn. and Miller’s hometown of Portland, Ore. when financial backing fell through. After seeing the news on the author’s blog, two fans of Miller’s famous Blue Like Jazz, Zach Prichard and Jonathan Frazier, created a grassroots style effort to save the film with the launch of savebluelikejazz.com. One of the movie’s investors committed to matching the amount raised if their campaign reaches $125,000. “Blue Like Jazz was a huge book for us,” explains Prichard. “One could say that it is our generation’s Mere Christianity. It comes at faith, religion and Christianity in such a unique light…one we weren’t accustomed to seeing. We believe this story is important, and we believe that if this film is made, it could change things in way’s unthought-of. We want to see this come to fruition, and if $125,000 is all that stands in the way, then we say… ‘Let’s do this.’ We have seen incredible response in less than one week’s time. People from all over the world have stepped in to become a part of this story, including donors from Sweden, Singapore, Australia and the United Kingdom. Early on, it was evident to us that we were merely a small piece of a much greater story, and we haven’t looked back since.” The website encourages viewers to download and pass along “Save Blue Like Jazz” posters, place Twitter hash marks of #savebluelikejazz, “like” on Facebook and, most importantly, donate on www.kickstarter.com. Pledge incentives include recorded voicemails from Miller, “Associate Producer” credits in the film’s end titles, t-shirts, screening tickets, digital downloads, personal “thank you” calls from the film’s director and more. The public has resonated with Prichard and Frazier, whose efforts have created over 1,300 Facebook fans and an estimated 900 financial supporters. The website raised $15,000 in the first 36 hours after the launch. Notables such as Derek Webb, Dan Haseltine and Charlie Lowell (Jars of Clay), Jeremy Cowart, Robbie Seay Band, Bebo Norman and Michael Hyatt (CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishing) have echoed the campaign’s endeavor on Twitter. www.savebluelikejazz.com saw 36,000 plus page visits in the first 48 hours alone. Relevant Magazine, Christianity Today and local news stations have covered the campaign as well. “This movie was dead,” adds Miller. “I pronounced it dead, knowing we had to film in a few weeks and most of our investors backed out. It was the fans that brought it back, and it’s certainly alive and kicking. I simply can’t believe we are watching this happen. It’s filmmaking history. I never thought I would get to watch anything like this happen. “

Flatfoot 56 On The Road
In what has been an unprecedented year for FLATFOOT 56, the Southside Chicago band’s 10th year anniversary has been marked by well-deserved milestones, all resulting from the strength of their sincere live show and critically-lauded Old Shoe Records debut, BLACK THORN. Produced by Johnny Rioux (STREET DOGS) and released in March 2010, BLACK THORN debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart, in addition to healthy positions on eight other charts in its first week. True to the band’s hard-earned reputation of remaining devoted to the road, FLATFOOT 56 has spent the better part of 2010 on tour in support of BLACK THORN. Mainstage appearances at festivals both home and abroad, a successful run on the 2010 Vans Warped Tour, and now the launch of their fall US club tour alongside Street Dogs. While FLATFOOT 56 continues to cement their place within the hierarchy of the punk rock genre, the band’s broad appeal and universally inspiring themes have managed to resonate with people outside of the punk rock scope just the same. Producers of the FX Network hit Sons of Anarchy have tapped the band for music to use in their new season, while WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) had Flatfoot record an all-new entrance theme for their current champion Sheamus. Never having to compromise their artistic integrity, FLATFOOT 56 manages to appeal to more than just the punks.

Raging Storm Signs Rent Veil
Building on an ongoing relationship of at least three years, Raging Storm is happy to announce the signing of Rent Veil to its roster of artists. Self-described as “southern praise metal”, Rent Veil consists of death metal veterans who have taken a whole new direction in their music, quoting a long list of references from almost every rock and metal genre. Having recently completed work on their EP “Praise, Honour & Glory” at the Sound Lair in Knoxville, RSR and Rent Veil will be announcing a release date soon. In mid November of 2007, in the backwoods of eastern Tennessee, the chill in the air was simply a promise of another long winter to come. There was a sound that rang through that cold air, a din – if you will, of something new and exciting. This clamor carried with it the beauty of an Easter morning sunrise service, the aggression of a “hell fire and brimstone” southern Baptist preacher and the soul of southern roots that had once been covered with the filth of a Godless world. This sound, this music became – Rent Veil.

GSR Records Launches Now
The vision for GSR Records started when Allen Cuffey and his wife Leah, who own a recording studio called GIG Productions, were developing their own music ministry and producing their own recordings. Over the years they have served many Christian artists in and around New York City, developing friendships and connecting with other like-minded artists. Allen is a member of “Rev 7,” one of the group’s on his new label. He’s also an Associate Minister at the Old Ship of Zion Church and a DJ on Long Island’s WLIX Christian Radio. In the past, Allen has assisted and produced recording projects for Atlantic Records, Sleeping Bag Records, City Beat Records, Bulldog Evans Records and Black Rose Productions, just to name a few. GSR Records has already established a following on Facebook and Twitter under the umbrella name “GSR Media.” Along with some highly aggressive long term marketing goals, they have implemented a campaign that has already established a wide fan base due to the variety of original music represented by the different artists on their roster.
“We’re breaking ground with a fresh sound in Christian music on many levels, while keeping the quality of artistry and a radio-friendly appeal in mind,” says Allen.
Gotee Records rings in the holiday with ‘Tis The Season To Be Gotee Christmas compilation, releasing today as a digital and CBA exclusive. Each song on this project has never before been available to retail, and features Gotee Records’ favorites Relient K, House of Heroes, Ayiesha Woods, Stephanie Smith and Abandon Kansas performing a variety of favorites. At the low suggested retail price of $7.99, ‘Tis The Season To Be Gotee promises to become an instant seasonal favorite.

One favorite on the project is Stephanie Smith’s newly recorded version of the Relient K song “I Celebrate the Day”, which she started performing last year on TobyMac’s Winter Wonder Slam tour. This song, produced by Mark Lee Townsend (who also produced the original Relient K version) will be the debut single from the project.
