Stan Lee's Mutants, Monsters & Marvels

StanLees.jpg

Fans of the "Silver Age" of American comics will want to pick up Stan Lee's Mutants, Monsters & Marvels. Interviewed extensively by film director (Dogma, Chasing Amy, etc.) and comics writer (Daredevil, Green Arrow, Bluntman & Chronic, etc.) Kevin Smith, Stan "The Man" Lee, longtime Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics and its most prolific creator, bares all. He explains everything from how he approached creating and writing characters like Spiderman, the X-Men, the Hulk, and Daredevil, to his take on various Marvel controversies, both personal and corporate. Lee also delves into the commercial history of the American comic, and spends lots of time sending shouts out, speaking frankly, and demuring when appropriate. Great extras, too. (One of which is a cool poem that Stan Lee reads, about his greatest hero -- God.) [Columbia Tristar / Jason Dodd]
