Something To Sing About

This DVD package has the most serious need of a graphic redesign I've ever seen. Judging by its cover, it looks like the most uncool movie I'd never want to see. The movie, however, is actually quite good, telling the story of redemption in urban Chicago. Main character Bob (Joe Actor) gets saved, his voice is discovered, and he gets a shot at Nashville/ccm glory, but has to make several hard choices -- from fame to friends to love. I love what he tells his astonished friend at one point: "You lied to me, you betrayed me, but I forgive you." Like the movie itself, it's simple yet powerful. [World Wide Pictures / Doug Van Pelt]
