Solaris

In this Alien meets Ghost movie, we are treated to a slow but intriguing look at a few heady subjects, including the existence of God. Hats off to George Clooney, who must monopolize the screen time as an astronaut in his confused but stubborn character that seems to loosely base his sense of reality around a god-less explanation of life and the afterlife. "We are mathematical probability. That’s all." He states coldly to his re-animated wife.
The "Behind The Scenes" featurette called "Inside Solaris" is very helpful, which goes a long way in explaining the complex story. [Fox Home Video / Doug Van Pelt]
