Simmons, Gene: Family Jewels
The batman from Kiss stars in his own reality show, the best part of which occurs on couch interviews, where family members comment on their dad. Whether its meddling in his son’s band or grieving over his daughter’s development into adulthood, we see Gene vulnerable and whipped. Those are the best parts. As a family, they're remarkably more "functional" than The Osbournes, with milder language. Simmons and his girlfriend (Shannon Tweed) are, by his description: "happily unmarried," even though his gal tries to trick him into a Jewish wedding ceremony in one episode. Her guy's philandering is brazen and shocking, which certainly doesn't go unnoticed by his two children, who seem bent on not repeating his choices. Surprisingly, perhaps one of the better reality shows yet. [A&E Home Video] DV
