Shrek

A brilliantly funny animated film that irreverently beats the stuffings out of a millenium's worth of fairy tales. Check out the scene where the Gingerbread Man, who's given the Mr. Bill treatment, gets interrogated. Like the hilarious Toy Story films, this one is witty and smart enough for grown-ups to have 100 laughs, and charming enough to enthrall the kiddies with a good story. The two double entandras are carefully worded so as to be innocent, but might be sophmoric enough to keep from watching this in a youth group setting (BTW: better get permission first!). The movie's most obvious moral lessons is good — that people are important, no matter what they look like. Vanity and beauty are only skin deep. Hoorah for Shrek! [Dreamworks / Doug Van Pelt]
