Second Chance
Let’s be honest. Sometimes Christian themed movies tend to be a bit cheesy. Second Chance dives deep into church politics and the needs of an inner city neighborhood without that dairy aftertaste. Ethan Jenkins (Michael W. Smith) is forced from his high profile position at a suburban super church to help out their sister church where he clashes with the head pastor played by Jeff Obafemi Carr. Through a series of events, and a few musical numbers, Jenkins realizes the church is more than a big building and a televised service; it’s about the people.

A very well done "Christian" movie. It's been a while since one has actually come out...actually, has their ever been one before? However, I think a lot of credit has to go to Steve Taylor who wrote and directed the film. He's always been very socially and spiritually grounded, and the film seems like a logical continuation of his thoughts and ideas that were first explored in his music.
