Pirates Of The Caribbean

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer outdoes himself with this film. The cast of Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush (Shakespeare in Love), Keira Knightley (Bend it Like Beckham) and Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings) perform an epic adventure. Depp, however, flat out steals the show. The 10 hours of special features are amazing. The deleted scenes, making of, and outtakes are more than complemented by hours of info. Big highlights are featurettes on famous pirates throughout history and the creation of the Disney attraction of the same name. The DVD’s special features almost over-shadow the film, but moments like Jack Sparrow wanting to know, "But why is the rum gone?" prevent this from happening. [Disney / Ken Washburn]
