Once
By the time this movie played its strongest card in that studio scene -- where this minstrel guy (Glen Hansard) and his band are midway into its first song and the apathetic sound engineer is arrested from his distractions by the brilliance of the music being created -- it becomes apparent that this sleeper, offbeat romantic tale can really stoke and stir the heart. Those that recognize Hansard from his role in another brilliant music film (The Commitments) shouldn't be surprised by the coolness of this flick. [Fox Video] Doug Van Pelt
