Northfork
The town of Northfork is about to be wiped out by a new dam, and a cast of characters play out the last two days of this place. Filmed with subdued lighting, it’s all very surreal. Anthony Edwards plays probably his most wacked out character yet, and Darryl Hannah his odd equal. Nick Nolte plays a muttering minister, and James Woods rounds out the oddballs as a trench-coated agent charged with evacuating the last stragglers (including a zealot with an Ark and two wives). Thankfully, the extras help explain this confusing flick. [Paramount / Doug Van Pelt]
