Napoleon Dynamite

To use a sports allusion that Napoleon would hate: “When you swing with all your might, sometimes you knock it out of the park.” That is what MTV Films have done with this cult-comedy hit. Hilarious, demented humor, giving you the ability to root for and laugh at the underdog in gut-splitting laughter. This is the kind of stuff that makes imitating movie lines fun, almost time-printing itself in your mental scrapbook. Be cautioned, though, some of this humor just doesn't seem funny to certain people. They won't laugh at your, "Gosh! Idiot!" jokes. [Fox Video] DV

As Doug stated, some of this humor just doesn't seem funny to certain people, and that's a shame. I've watched Napoleon Dynamite with a few different people and their reactions were as different as night and day.

This is one of those movies that you'll either love or hate, there's no in-between. Pop it in and you'll know within 5 minutes whether or not this is your cup 'o tea. As for me, I loved it!

Some people complain that it's too 'slow moving', but how fast does a movie with no real plot have to go? I find that the speed (or lack of it) is really part of it's genius.

Lastly, this is a good clean movie. Even if you don't like the humor, you can at least appreciate the fact that it has no foul language, no nudity or sexual references, and no glorification of drugs.

Funny or Not?
NOT!

When I first put in Napoleon Dynamite I had no idea what it was about, but an hour and a half later I had laughed so much I made my sister and mom watch it. They both loved it and thought it was hilarious. Although we thought it was funny there are some people that hate it with a passion. So the best thing to do is watch it yourself and decide for yourself.

I loved this movie. I think it is absolutely hilarious. If you do not think it is funny you must check to see if you may have a problem with your sense of humor. It tops Dumb and Dumber my personal favorite for many years now.
