Hart's War

Without the humor of the old tv show "Hogan's Heroes," this WWII German concentration camp setting magnifies the drama of the continuing battle between POWs and their captors, and manages to underscore the concept of sacrifice. A mystery until the end, American soldiers become pitted against one another in a complex story within a story. The documentaries and director's commentary are a tad intriguing and end up adding more to the experience. [MGM / Doug Van Pelt]
