Ivan Reitman, the genre-spoofing maker of Ghostbusters, made a side splitter here that takes on the theory of Panspermia, where life travels from one planet to another by way of meteors. This movie, which of course features Dan Akroyd, includes some goofy characters, like Orlando Jones and X-Filer David Duchovny. They do their best to make this sophomoric romp bearable, but it falls pretty short of Academy Award levels; instead wallowing in frat house humor and sight gags. [ Dreamworks / Doug Van Pelt ]
