If skateboarding has ever held an interest in you, then getting ahold of this DVD is a must. The street skating sequences are phenomenal. One of the best parts is that the crash scenes aren’t sequestered in their own section, but interspersed throughout the footage – adding an element of suspense (“is he gonna pull this trick off or not?”). The security bit (“Dyrdek Security”) is hilarious and the location footage is nice (Europe, Australia, Philly, LA, SF, and Vancouver), but the be-all bit here is the uber-incredible “Mega Ramp” footage with Danny Way. Like one person says in commentary, this skater’s bravado and accomplishments goes beyond Tony Hawk. Danny Way truly has taken this sport to an unbelievable level. And if the footage of him breaking both a distance (he flies 75 feet through the air, spinning around while holding the rail of his board, no less) and vertical (23.5 feet of vertical air) in one single run; bonus footage shows him exploring the concept that he’s only scratched the surface. He adds a platform from which he slides on, taps, and alternately lands on. Then he adds a huge convex rail that he performs some amazing slides and grins on as he flies by at top speeds. Prior to watching this with others, make sure you’ve brushed your teeth or rinsed with mouthwash, cuz your jaw will drop and stay open.
