A TRIBUTE TO LIVING SACRIFICE
It took Clenchedfist a while to get this Living Sacrifice tribute disc out, due to the nature of such things (basically, getting band people types to meet deadlines and such), but fourteen tracks of blistering homage to the mighty LS make it worth the wait. It also makes for a great introduction to some good ‘extreme’ bands that you may not be familiar with yet. Mindrage puts a tuff guy spin on “Haven of Blasphemy.” Crutch bleeds all over “Breathing Murder.” Mordecai’s horrifying handling of “Not Beneath” makes it a standout track. Rocky Gray’s Soul Embraced take on “Truth Solution,” and give it some more doom and guitar razzmatazz. Gnashing of Teeth pound out “No Longer” with some nu-metal edge. Kekal massacre “Mind Distant,” making it another standout track. Crimson Thorn dole some death with “Anorexia Spiritual.” Soterios shred “Distorted.” Clemency speed and pummel through “In the Shadow.” Mistral make their take on “Threatened” stand out with some wonderful synth work backing trademark LS guitars and growl. Dwell Beneath tear up “Unseen” with desperate, layered screams. 26 Days Till Freedom definitely stand out on the record, jazzing up “Dealing With Ignorance.” Dirge pound “…To Nothing.” And the last track, “Desolate,” is done by Living Sacrifice themselves.
