Nothing Is Sound

Never been a fan of Switchfoot’s music. Nor have I been slightly excited at the news of a release. Alright. As catchy as pop can be, this harder version of Switchfoot rock seems to be even more addicting. Now, this "hard" won’t hold anything to what we at HM consider the same, but really... it doesn’t matter. Figure out a way to release that cocky genre elitism, and Nothing is Sound will stand closely behind Kelly Clarkson’s "Since You’ve Been Gone." Now, the lyrics are solid. (There is a slight overtone of dismay and unease towards the state of many things, but it works to pull us in.) And the production is incredible. There are some wonderful level decisions made: vocals, guitar, and even kick drum. Okay, so, the quick summary: First, this album is sticky, you’ll be singing it (especially track four, "The Shadow Proves The Sunshine") for weeks. Second, the majority of this release is good. Both of which make this worth the money. [Columbia] David Allen

Dude, I love HM, but I want to know, why haven't you been a Switchfoot fan? They rock and their new album is awesome!

Hey, I just heard Day of Fire's 'Cornerstone' on my otherwise contempo-mellow Christian radio station - omg! [translated O my goodness!!!] they really rock! I even read Josh Brown's testimony - how he OD'd on "H" then came to know Christ & subsequently turned his life over to the Lord ... have you already reviewed their debut album? PS: I agree w/you about Switchfoot, they have a few songs that I listen to, but for the most part, they're a drag ... I prefer Pillar, Kutless, Stavesacre, etc ... now they're hard & edgy, just the way I like it!

I used to love Switchfoot, what with The Buetful Letdown. Now, though, I can't stand there depressing veiw on life. There're new album, Nothing is Sound, frankly, stinks. I hate the fact that they are so scared to be veiwed as a Christian band. Come on, Switchfoot, learn to love what got you here!

Hi I'm from Puerto Rico so excuse my language, I really love the music of Switchfoot the new album is just amazing sons like Lonely Nations,Easier Than Love, The Setting Sun, Stars,The Blues, Golden etc., really rocks. Giving the guys a change they do it right and they are christians too. Keep doing the good job boys and God Bless you...so long. The Latino Rockero ha ha ha...

LOVE SWITCHFOOT!!!!

i dare you to move......

yah baby.

I have to say I understand what you mean by "never been a fan". But this album like the last has some moments of real greatness. The sad thing is they can ruin those moments by adding lame pop heavy choruses to other songs to ruin the end to end joy. But in a nutshell these guys have some great song writing talent.
