Project 86

SONGS TO BURN YOUR BRIDGES BY
Hearing people call P86 “hardcore” or “metal” has always turned my stomach. I am a stubborn purist when it comes to those genres. When I got this in the mail to review I broke out in a cold sweat. In good conscience I could not write about this record using hardcore or metal as reference points. To liberate myself from this quandary, I decided to think of P86 as hard rock. It worked. I began to enjoy the record and I must say, it’s a darn fine one. These songs have a genuine drive, a nice forward thrust, and with the exception of a few weirded-out moments, they are relentless (think of a pit bull locking its jaws on its victims neck – you know the dog ain’t gonna stop shaking its head and salivating until it’s all over). Yes, the hardcore and metal tendencies are clearly there, but P86 is not really building on anyone else’s foundation and one listen will convince you of that. Clear, over-the-top aggressive vocals? Check. Punching you in the face even after you’ve lost consciousness guitar work? Check. Good production? Check. Check. Check. Wear your neckbrace.

i agree completely

When you purchase that neckbrace, purchase some ankle straps as well, because you're going to need them for when you can't bob your head, and you're tappin' your foot instead.

This record is great. There is so much passion, conviction, and anger in Scwabbs voice and lyrics. Few front men come off as intelligent and as powerful as he does.

Truthfully this cd was not near as cool as there previous three . There other albums had more hip hop influences and the album seamed watered down . Truthless heroes was a gem and drawing black lines was great . The self-titled was fair , but this was very weak . There are a few good songs though . Project 86 has always had a nack for catchy moments on their albums and this cd had very little

As soon as I heard P86 had self-produced a new album, I placed my order. Man, am I glad I did. That was back in November. Somehow, I knew I would NEED this CD. Did I ever!

"Burn Your Bridges" was about so much more than guitars, drums, and deep lyrics. This album makes a statement! Buy the CD, open the case, read the poem on the insert, rawk out to the music, and let the bridge burning begin!

I needed this CD because of what was about to happen to me and my family. I needed this CD because it prepared my soul for the fight of my life. This CD is as Prophetic as it is Powerful!

I will spare you the personal details of my life, but I must say this:

When the foundations of your faith are shaken... and you find that the institution that you dedicated your life to serving is just the Matrix... and you decide to pull away the veil that hides the truth from the masses... only to find your head in the crosshairs of the Babylonian leaders...
you will know that it is time to join the Brotherhood of the Bridge Burners, and sing along as we sing "Burn, Burn, Burn!"

Its a good album, the band has put their heart and soul in to it and you can hear the result of it.

I wasn't able to pick up the first release of the album, but I did get the Tooth & Nail release. The album is pretty good, but it sounds a bit sloppy at times. I personally liked Truthless Heroes more, mainly because of the excellent lyrics... Although I was glad to hear them doing a more Drawing Black Lines-style album, I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed... This is a very good album, but it just didn't do it for me. Maybe it's because I expected way too much... Nevertheless, Project 86 is one awesome band.

This Album is easily one of my all time favorit albums. it easily blows truthless heros out of the water, it takes Project in a new direction, one i like. and though it thought Project 86 was good, and Drawing Black lines was great, this is even better, this one hasnt left my 5 disk changer since i got it, about a month ago.

This cd is one of the best i have ever heard in the industry. It has been one of the only things that I have listened to in about a month! The lyrics are powerful, and you can't help but bang your head along to the music.
