The King In A Rookery
Industry has been getting a lot of talk in HM these days and there’s not a better example of a Christian band with a capitol C than Pivitplex. Never mind the fact that I can’t pronounce or remember how to spell their name; on The King in a Rookery, Pivitplex have composed a smooth album of safe songs complete with smart production, a companion devotional and safe inspiring lyrics: “We’re a part of a generation of massive dreams / with half-brained schemes of love / there are people who stand in line to freeze our minds and say it’s not our time” (“One Goodbye”). At their best, Pivitplex are catchy and nostalgic, but overall they just sound like everything playing during any youth group, 10 years ago, without the memories or big hooks. If you’re missing All Star United, I recommend checking out The King In A Rookery, or better yet just go listen to ASU, as they just reformed. [Hawley] Nate Allen

This review was not helpful at all. saying this is a "smooth album of safe songs" says nothing about the music. I did get the feeling from this review that they are infact christian lyricists.. with a style that happens to match music from 10 years ago, but that is such a blatent lack of any identification. This review has not helped me what so ever with deciding to listen to this band/album.
