The above album has a wonderful review of this album. You can buy it for $4 or $5 now on www.indievisionmusic.com It's definetly worth it.
The Portland-by-way-of-Hawaii guys in Pennylane write well-crafted and powerful emo-pop songs, five of which have ended up on this questionable full-length. Those said five show great promise: The melodies are catchy, the music is moving. The CD consists of nine total tracks, but the last three are from a live show and there is an intro track that’s only a bit over a minute. All this would be well and good, but the live recordings are of ridiculously horrible quality and showcase a worse side of the band. There’s so much mid-range, you can’t turn up the volume without it piercing your ears. The aforementioned five tracks are definitely worth their weight, but the live "bonus" songs do more to hurt the overall quality than boost it.
