Noise Ratchet

s/t EP

This new EP from Noise Ratchet seems to lean on a few elements that Helmet brought to the table with their last album, Aftertaste, as the first two tracks were birthed to rock. It's like Noise Ratchet started writing soundtracks for car chases in big budget action movies complete with break downs, anthem-like melodies and a bass tone that cuts through the mix.
Thankfully, this is all done in familiar confines – the album never strays too far from what you've come to expect of the band. The slower tracks retain the genuine heart, the good word, an encouraging warmth that those familar with Noise Ratchet can embrace.
A range of emotions fill this finely produced six track EP. Makes you wonder what a full length could accomplish... [The Militia Group/ Seth Werkheiser]
