Mortal Treason

Since their acclaimed debut, Mortal Treason has suffered four line-up changes – a critical strike that would sink most beginning bands. But after hearing their sophomore release with vocalist Seth Kimbrough’s wife Kimberly added on keyboards and their improved elongate epics, you will be reminded how true passion can never be subdued. Kimbrough’s lyrics reflect upon perspectives of substance abuse, domestic violence, and Judgment Day – which proves suitable for their clangorous metal assault as thick as the summer night air from their home of northern Alabama. And just as your ears are attempting to crawl away from the intensity (emotionally and audibly), another crescendoing riff grabs you by the ankles and virulently pulls back. It’s not over yet... [Flicker] Dan Frazier

They have potential, but it seems like the drums are always a bit behind...every song. I don't know if that's a recording issue or what. The first album was like that too.

Seth's wife's name is elizabeth.

I personally am a HUGE fan of mortal treason although I am very critcal when it comes to reviews. This is an awsome follow up from there first release. Lyrically this album is amazing, and vocally as well. However for being a sophomore release it seems like the production quality could be a little better. However besides that the thrashing guaitars and beautiful keys. This is a must have if you enjoyed the first album. 9/10

Well, after listening to this album i want their first album :)

yea i play most of their songs on my radio show

Really good album. But they just announced that they're calling it quits. Shame

shameshameshame of such a loss. they are so much better live though

they put out a real strong effort to ministry...and I very much respect that. they rip your face off. (which hurts a bit)lol. Mortal treason rocks!!!

They put out a real effort to ministry. I appreciate that. Most bands forget why we are really here. They totally rip your face off. (which hurts a bit) lol. Mortal Treason Rocks!!!

i like mortal treason but i do agree that the drums seem to lag a bit and i would like to know why.........

I like this album. I still think the first one had a lot more emotion into it. The vocals on the first one were a bit more metalcore/black metal and this one had more growls. The one thing I didn't like at all on the newer one were the guitar tones and guitar quality. They sounded so...raspy; like they were recorded in a garbage can. Other than that, good album, a good pickup.
