Destination : Beautiful

Listening to the current state of popular music is sometimes a difficult thing. To find something that is defying, or tries to defy what has become typical and expected does not often happen. Sadly, Mae doesn't seem to try to defy the musical world with their songs, but they don't have to; instead they create inviting pop songs of the Further Seems Forever, Dashboard Confessional (sans acoustic guitar) variety.

There is reason to listen, especially if you're a fan of said music, because Mae is by far one of the best bands (in their genre) that have called Tooth & Nail home. Furthermore, it's one of the best records that Tooth & Nail has released in a long time.

Pleasing melodies, created with beautiful guitar work, heart-on-their sleeve vocal deliveries and solid bass and drum work make Destination : Beautiful one record those teary-eyed emo kids will hold dear.

I haven't heard this whole cd but what I've heard is beautiful... like Christopher said, it is along the lines of popular music these days, but they do it well... When these kids put out their second cd I'm expecting some growth! watch out

they are decent.....not the best...but real catchy. i thoroughly enjoy them.

i have the cd and I love it. It seems to have sort of a dance music thing going on in a song or two, but it is very emo I am a big fan of emo, I am a especially a big fan of Saves the Day, Although they are more emo-punk. This cd has wonderful drum beats and some of the most harmonic, melodic, and emo sounding guitar playing i have ever heard, since I got the cd I have hardly put it down.

The first time i heard these guys i was a touch sceptical of the vocals but like many other bands it has certainly grown on me. Mae have some crackers of songs, this is one album that i can whack on and listen to without skipping songs, and it has to be played loud.

Mae is one of the BEST bands ive ever heard...becides COPELAND. Mae's tunes are so singalongable and enjoyable.I give the album Destination:Beautiful 10 stars.**********
