Jesus Wept

If this great hardcore/metal band has flown under your radar screen thus far, you need to get a new one. From the ashes of xDisciplex A.D. comes a band that’s impossible to be confused with a “Christians in a band” kind of thing. Short songs, killer breakdowns, unrelenting riffs and chant-able choruses are in abundance here. I love it all, but especially cool are the title track and “Break Me,” which sounds like it would’ve fit well right in the middle of that Outer Circle album. Listen to Show’s Over if you want one small reminder why this magazine exists.

I was honestly a little dissapointed with this full length from JW. I love their ep but most of the songs on the new album are very "cheesy". They put on a great live show but this album could be better.

i havent listened to the whole cd, but from what ive heard im not too crazy about the vocals (as they are kind of cheesy) but the music sounds pretty good.

i like it. i know we had bands like stretcharmstrong and dogwood, but i miss the old hardcore sounds of bands like sick of it all, agnostic front, cro-mags, etc. jesus wept brings it all back.....*sigh*

Hey you said oldschool? what about NIV? 1rst it was NIV not JW or xDx. They had and have that sound, they've done the touring with AF, 25 ta life, for more than a decade!
BTW, Shows over is really good!

nobody said xDx came before NIV, bro

the album is awesome!!

Great Review, HM. This album really is a refreshment for those of us who miss old school hxc. The lyrics may be cheesy, but isn't that what old school was about? HXc lyrics didn't start out as 'poetic' as some bands try to make them today, thank God.

this has been my album of the year so far. I dont see how its "cheezy"?
