Immortal Souls

Immortal Souls
Ice Upon the Night

I had a soft spot for this Finnish metal band’s debut on Facedown from the get-go. The quickly-paced melodic guitar work immediately drew me in. Don’t get me wrong, I love the chugga chugga chugga stuff that Facedown usually cranks out, but this seems to go way beyond that “elementary” level stuff. There are actually bona fide lead guitar solos! Whoa! And they are all over the place too! The somewhat drab vocals that sound a lot like most scary metal bands these days are easily excused because the guitar work is absolutely amazing. If they ever make The Blair Witch Project Part Three this band has just got to be included on the soundtrack. Possibly the finest Facedown release ever. [Facedown Records] Chris Francz

An awesome cd. Heavier and faster than but not quite as melodic as "Under a Northern Sky". Still this is an incredible band. Great musicianship, really cool Scandanavian melody, creepy monster like yet awesome vocals, and the beauitful cover art make this cd a must buy for anyone that has metal running through their veins. Probably the best facedown release, and hopefully they will release more in similar genres.

a decent cd but not as good as their previous effort, i thought some of the riffs were too "poppy" for my taste, so i traded this off. ultimately the riffs were just not memorable enough to really hook me. too much filler.

Hola amigos a mi me parece un disco excelente, de una calidad competitiva con cualquier banda secular de black metal.
Gracias

With a name like immortal souls, they've gotta be good. This disc will blow you away. Tremendous vocals, equally good guitars, and suprizingly good drums, in fact, the whole cd is AWESOME. GO BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!

Meh, it's alright. They don't have any of the really blistering-on-fire stuff that they used to do. I dunno, I just don't think they're contributing anything new to the melodic death scene. Nothing compares to Snow Soul.

If you think megadeth is the new death metal then maybe you will like Immortal souls.but if you are like me and can't stand cheesey 80's metal throwbacks then you will think that Immortal Souls wreaks of old sweaty spandex. thank you.
