Glass Ocean, The

Put On The Wooden Overcoats

With Colour Revolt-esque (how ‘bout that moniker?) reminiscence, Put on the Wooden Overcoat opens with an indie – almost mewithoutYou-Catch For Us The Foxes-feel – groove heavy perfection, as if to extend a hand and say, “Bond, James Bond… shaken, not stirred… I will rock your face off.” But this is no copycat band, and the fact that the afore mentioned artists come to mind should be taken complimentarily. The Glass Ocean have created a unique quality all on their own, with psyched emotion in each note. Raw, frantic sing-screaming vox compliment frenzied rock-along riffs, clapping hands, and honest, soulful lyrics into a record that’s… eh… awesome. Awesome. There’s the word. And what else could you expect from a band with two previous members of The Chariot? (Oh yeah… sorry, I just forgot to mention it...) [Audible Media Group] Levi Macallister
