Felix Culpa, The

Thought Control

First of all, this CD EP/DVD package is awesome. The DVD has a live show, a concept video, a making-of featurette, home movies, photo galleries, and a trailer for their 2004 Commitment album. Secondly, The Felix Culpa know how to sculpt sounds and craft songs. Musicianship and vocals that serve the song, warm and clean production, and lyrics that conjure common emotions are all complimentary elements showcased here that will easily build a reputation for The Felix Culpa. And if you think they’re playing it safe, they throw in enough dissonant and offbeat sounds to keep you guessing. Remember this name, cause you’re likely to see it on a few writers’ "end of year" lists come December. [Common Cloud] Doug Van Pelt
