Evergreen Terrace - Burned Alive By Time
When searching through the halls of hard-core these days, it's hard to find something that really strikes my fancy. I just reminice of those first notes I heard on a Minor Threat (not that this is anywhere near that caliber) album and sigh. Most of it sounds the same – you know the recipe – a scream here, a breakdown there, and a nice little intro to start it all off. Then comes along Evergreen Terrace to throw a wrench into it all and mess up my current listening habits. Sure, they have breakdowns and solos, but they also have that "no blood no fun" hard core 'tude that makes you want to dance and beat that brat next door. Please don't take this record for granted, it's a gem to be had by all, Eulogy Records did themselves a favor by picking these kids up. There is a special cover at the end of the record that New Wave listeners should get a kick out of. [EULOGY] LONNY HURLEY
