Downhere

Ending is Beginning
Downhere is like engaged bystanders cheering on marathon runners -- constantly encouraging believers to run the race to win. This encouragement is not merely blind faith, however as “Cathedral Made of People” makes painfully clear. It asks hard questions about what Christians will do, if one day persecuted for their faith. Americans don’t comprehend what persecution means, but many believers around the world – particularly in Muslim nations – know well what it’s like to take that hard road. Sonically, “My Last Amen” is a fascinating recording. Believe it or not, the track combines Queen vocal extravaganza with Randy Newman’s “I Love L.A.” Musically, Downhere mainly leans toward the gentler side of alternative rock, with a sound akin to Coldplay in many places. The band doesn’t neglect guitar, but piano is especially upfront in songs like “All At War.” All told, Downthere belongs right up there with the best, sincere Christian music. [Mono Vs.
