Dogwood - Siesmic
Ahhh, one of my favorite bands returns with a strong release reminiscent of the More Than Conquerors / Building... era. Simplistic but passionate and preaching anthems come alive with a snapping energy and a spittle-flying quick pace. The title track smartly starts things off with the strongest song, but things don’t slack off until well past the midway point (the slower sing-song-y mid-tempo “Trailer Full of Tragedies”). By that time, it’s tempting to hit the previous track button and start over again, but there is a reward for the loyal persevering listener – the frenetic “Faith” and “What Matters” bring the pace back up to workout speed with straight-forward messages of priority and the 41-second sermonette of “Crushing” that closes the album. It’s good to know you can count on a musical friend like Dogwood to deliver the goods. Like AC/DC, they aren’t likely to win any awards for forging new musical ground; but like any good punter would say, “Leave that to the artsy bands. Just give me what I like!” Dogwood has done just that. [TOOTH & NAIL] DOUG VAN PELT

Well I haven't yet gone out and gotten myself a copy yet, but Dogwood is such an awesome band!! I saw them at Spirit West Coast last year and they rocked! The guys are so nice, funny, and down to earth too!! Everyone should listen to Dogwood!

i was at that show, it was really great. the best part was when they put a stilt walker in the middle of the mosh pit.
