Dead To Fall

Everything I Touch Falls to Pieces

Technical death metal mixed with hard/metalcore usually leaves the listener confused if not uncomfortable. Those accustomed to hardcore breakdowns often squirm at piercing squeals and ostentatious guitar riffs. While technical followers deem the simpler as lacking prowess. Dead to Fall have almost married the two, with strong leanings towards the intricate. Gutteral and forced, almost slovenly, Jon's vocals contribute the ominous to a nearly evil ideal: an inward reflection if only to protect himself from pain distributed by others. Depricate those if even figuratively with a desire to let 'em "choke on their blood filled breath". Ah, but the negative is slightly pleasant within mad leaps of melody. Complex, consecutive chord progressions bolster a strong Nordic influence. Coupled with rapid double-bass drums and detuned bass lines, Dead to Fall offer a powerful blend of what was once droning metal, but now keep your attention long enough metal.[Victory/ David Allen]
