This album exceeds any of my previous ideas of Dead Poetic. This has to be the best rock album in my opion in years! Dead Poetic Rocks...
Dead Poetic has blessed us with the perfect blend of emotionally charged hard rock with a touch of screamo. They are not overly emo, and they continue to experiment sonically. The new disc finds a more mature Brandon Rike, both lyrically and vocally. This has to be the best hard rock album since the days of that lad named Kurt Cobain. Favorites are Glass In The Trees, New Medicines, and Taste The Red Hands. Their songwriting has really blossomed, and this is a very mature and innovative record by a very young band. Best disc of 2004 so far hands down-Noah Millheim
dead poetic rocks my socks off. im actually going to see them on the 27. i def plan on purcasing their cd while witnissing their beautiful performance.
I was fortunate enough to catch the Project 86/Dead Poetic show in Papillion, NE this past Saturday night, and all I have to say is that was well worth the wait and price of admission ($10!!!). Dead Poetic is an amazing live band, and the new album is so, so good...I hope to see/hear more about these guys in the near future...New Medicines is a great statement and a brilliant album...a must have...
I went to See Dead poetic at the metro with Norma Jean, haste the day, and underoath. They were just awesome they sounded fresh. They definitly made an impact on me. Their performance was awesome live. I've heard of them before but I never saw them live and they blew my socks off!
One of the best new releases of 2004 .... Looking forward to seeing them with Demon Hunter in June ......
This album is ULTRA!! Screams are lower than their prevoius release "Four Wall Blackmail" The lyrics are profound and singer has an amazing range of tones. It really keeps you listening. This album is a MUST BUY!! If you like them check out UnderOATH and Emery!!!
I got 4 wall black mail so I'm looking forward to getting new medicines because DEAD POETIC IS EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL
Four wall blackmail was an excellant cd for any band to start off with...now with the addition of a second guitarist, DP sounds HELLA better than ever before. I saw DP live and they were perfect. New Medicines gets an A+. Nice job guys

this cd was good on the first listen but it doesnt have any staying power.
I LOVED Four Wall Blackmail, and bought New Medicines at Cornerstone NC recently. I have listened like 4 times so far, but it hasn't done that much for me. I hope it'll grow on me with more listens, but until then, I wish I had my 10 bucks back. I recommend downloading songs to test before buying.
I've seen them three times so far this summer, and I want to see them again! They're awesome live and are always able to get a crowd moving.
i agree with chuckmagnum. this album sounds great at the beginning, but quickly becomes monotonous after a couple listens. i got sick of it the first day i bought it. it's severely over-produced and pretty over-hyped. everything that was raw and somewhat emotional about this band was lost on this album. hopefully further releases will be better.
i love dp.
the album is awesome in my view. my favorite song has to be modern morbin prophecies
