Apprentice, The
THE EPIC STRUGGLE
The Apprentice is an acoustic rock act featuring Eric DeLong and some of his friends. The songs follow a simple format, dealing with a range of issues from social fears to lost love to putting faith in God through parables and metaphors. Ballads are animated with a full acoustic guitar sound and the occasional bass or drum loop. While the music composition is solid and thoughtful, DeLong’s voice often falls short of the notes for which he is reaching. The flat-toned vocals really distract from his music, but The Apprentice gets high marks for effort, considering the complexity of many of the tunes. [FUTURE DESTINATION / JONATHAN NOLTE]

i disagree, i belive that his voice is something different, that shows the authenticity of the music. i think that it proves to be something different and not another convention like most acoustic stuff these days. the down side to the album is i think some of the tracks tend to be alittle culttered, i think sticking to the acoustic and vocal only is the way to go
