7.21.07- All our stuff is packed away, the house is vaccuumed (what a funny word) and smells nice. The only thing that remains is this very computer, some salad dressing, mustard, and some refrigerate only natural peanut butter (help yourself future interns and doug).

My time here has been awesome and I've learned so much about magazine and myself.. so much that I probably don't even know the half of it yet; it will surface later and major blogging will ensue. This internship is one of the most awesome things I've ever done.

Doug and his family are some awesome God lovin' people (I can tell ;)) and it was awesome getting to know them and getting to serve and to be blessed by their knowledge, skills, grace, love, the list goes on.. oh and most importantly Pastor Russel.. haha.

And Jenn, I am going to miss you! We were thrust into this adventure together not knowing what to expect, but pulling through together. It would have been brutal alone and I'm sure the "car that sits outside our house at 1am" would have scared me off. Thanks for sharing your heart with me, you are a very special and beautiful person. I know you will do great things through our Lord. Baadadaaa. Arrested Developement is pretty hilarious, now I need to go buy it so I can watch the rest, I'm hooked.

As far as the Sept/Oct Issue goes, it's going to be AMAZING. For reasons other than my contributions.. haha. It is filled with an amazing variety of music and covers lots of different angles. SUBSCRIBE NOW!

I could probably write all day about my very short but sweet time here, but it's time to say our final goodbyes at Chuy's (of course) then hit the road home to Flo Mo (Flower Mound). I miss my kitty Oliver and of course my parents, brother and friends too.

I'll miss you HM Ranch with your breathtaking sunsets and your perfect bike riding roads through the corn and cows.

7.20.7- It's our last working day here at HM.. so sad. The issue actually isn't going to be sent to the printer until Wednesday which is kind of a bummer we won't be here until start to finish, but we were here for most of it. I've learned so much about EVERYTHING music related, HM related, life related, relationships related you name it. When you give God room to move, he sure will.

Today was spent finishing some layout stuff, researching bands, Bible studies, and I did a last minute DVD review.

Tonight for dinner Charlotta, Doug's wife, and their daughters Kaela and Rachel came with pizza and chocolate cake! That totally made my day/night and I'm so glad we got to see them before we left. Then Tornado and her daughter and Cecily stopped by too with lots of goodies-- TORNADO brownies, cookies, all that amazing stuff she can bake. It was so great to see everyone before we leave.

I'm really happy with the magazine and I know it's going to be an awesome issue. I can't wait to have it in my hands to see it for myself. Doug is working on the feature layout and it's looking KILLER.. haha, I've never said that before, but it is.

7.19.07- Did Wednesday even exist? Time has been flying by the last two months, but especially this week (DEADLINE WEEK, DUH). Ahem.. anyway, we spent all day hopelessly devoted to the Kutless Direct Mail project. Printing, cuting, folding, stuffing envelopes all day.. 1,000 of them. We did about half Wednesday and it still took us hours to do the rest, BUT we're done now. We've also been racking our brains and past issues for insight and wisdom to provide to all you wonderful readers via the Word of God. In other words, we're working on the Bible Studies adjuct to the magazine.

Also we spent time with our Bible study friends who have shared more than they even know. Goodbyes are sad, but why say goodbye? How about See ya later.. which I hope we really do see them again real soon. 11th hour, this is my shout out to you. It's been so awesome and truly a blessing to get to know these people. I would advise future interns to check out the ministry, 11th hour. You guys are in my prayers, where ever your paths may lead you.

7.17.07- My silly computer crashed today just in time for me to finish the enewsletter and news update and before I was able to send it to Doug, so it was lost and I will need to redo that tonight. BLAH! I worked out laying out some EC's and the news bullets for the news section today, that was fun. I like learning new things and InDesign seems to be a pretty handy program to get to know! I also spent a lot of time formatting and selecting photos for one of the features.. it's going to be good. The whole issue is going to be amazing so get ready!

7.16.07- Monday, the last monday I will be here to be exact. I stayed busy by knocking out the enewsletter and internet news update all in one day. I also did some proof reading of sorts. I complied some more news bullets for the news section too.

7.12.07- Things are coming together. Today I worked on writing up little snippets for the pick of the litter bands we selected.. there's some pretty good stuff I would say. I'm also working on the News Bullets section for the magazine, it's taking forever but that's okay. Tonight we may go to a CD release party for a local Austin band called The Still Life, but who knows. The drive from Thrall to Austin is never fun...

7.11.07- Today was busy as deadline is approaching quickly. In the morning I worked on the enewsletter to sent out, there were two this week. The rest of the day was dedicated to polishing all my articles and CD reviews to get them sent to Doug. We selected photos for the bands that sent us several to choose from, and we narrowed down most of the Pick Of The Litters.

No one's giving us comments! Boooo!

"Hi, my name is Amanda. I am inturning at HM. I pretty much have mad skillz in everything I do. My roomate back at school loves me so darn much and misses me too but she is coming to visit me this weekend. I love music and I could be a rock star. I totally already look like one. My roommate told me. Oh, and my balogna helmet wearing cat, Oliver who misses me very much as well. I am going to do an awsome job this summer and my roomate Erin is so stink'n proud of me.
The End"
I love you! See you soon!

We should be white rappers like "Yungtown"-- "if you think you spelt it wrong you spelt it correctly."
Only we will be called Durty Spoonz.

Brian agrees with Erin; you are stinkin awesome! Brian is also sad because he thinks the starbucks in LBK won't hire him, but he will call again tomorrow. Brian misses his friend Amanda and Erin and needs to be reminded that Amanda is in Austin when he goes down there (maybe July 5-7) so they can hang out. Brian gets jealous with a godly jealousy of how well Amanda is doing. Brian says thanks for being a constant friend to a guy that gets in trouble a lot b/c he has a big mouth and says stupid stuff. LOVE YA AMANDA!! You are an AMAZING friend!!

Hey I was so honored to have the opportunity to meet the " Durty Spoons"...maybe ya should of rapped for me..LOL...hope to see ya soon..

That sounds like an amazing cake.. I've seen something like that before.. It was a very cute cake..But I also have to say what an amazing scripture.

"11.I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. 12I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it"

That's so amazing and proves and just speaks an incredible amount of truth. If only many could see those words and believe the words instead of thinking "Of course they're going to say something like that".
Anyway hope your time at HM is super amazing.

Your insight into life is refreshing. Keep writing, it brightens my day!!! Unexpected new friends and cool cakes are the best.

Chocolate cake with Smarties and Cookies sound De-freakin-licious right now!!! Texas is great, HM mag is great, and Amanda Curtis is GREAT! I'm glad you're having such an amazing experience.

every one is so excited about the chocolate cake you wrote about. (which is cool) but BBQ is just as cool.

Ahhh....yes. Eh, emmm...How shall this begin? How 'bout:

To the Mayor of Blogtown,

Your dawgs have been not been following the poop rules in accordance with the Town's strict recycling program, for that matter, neither have your frogs. Can you please address this issue for the townspeople? Otherwise, and I'm not threatening or anything...But impeachment procedings 'may' need to take place....Your welcome!

Glorify God and keep yourself feeling brand new! Luv-Beatific W.

Whoever said you looked thirty is an idiot!

Buzy B. I heard that if you take a bath in tomato juice and mayonise that the 'train jumping' smell will leave the boxcar! If that doesn't work, you may want to call Avon and see if they can sell you a case of Pink Posy Fun Fun Bubble Bath and try mixing that with a solution of vinegar and cake mix and put in a spray bottle and squirt liberally! That last one takes the most work, but its a sure way to elimanate the residue of said Skunk 'spray'. See:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skunk

Its quite interesting to know, where the odor actually originates from...I didn't know that...Luv, Beatific W!!!

Hey Amanda,

Former HM Intern Kelly Benson here. I think, maybe, you emailed me before you started. I hope I gave you an accurate description of the internship. Pretty awesome, huh? Quick question: When you take your bike rides, do you ever fear that the cows along the road will suddently attack you and no one will be around to stop them? Just wondering. Anyway. If you ladies are going to C-stone this summer, I will more than likely meet you at some point and I think that could be fun. Until then...

Hey I am so glad u liked the fajitas...have fun tonite and rock out...

Ha ha, STANK! STINK STANK STUNK! Hey, come home, I'm trying to finish that painting of you and its not going very well. I need you to come back and drop your job for another hour or two;) Love you. Still prouder than heck of you gorgious.

I must say you typed that last entry incredibly fast. I'm pretty sure I took twice as long to type mine which is less than half the length of yours HAHA!

Please pray for my grandson Jesse. He has been through a lot these past two months. First, he turns gay at Disney world and now he has Gonorrhea and you can tell because his skin is yellow. He looks like Bart Simpson.
I hear the rapture trumpet! Badada!
