And that's all folks. My internship is up, and I've got nothing but good things to say about it. If you're a kid looking for a great experience in interning, and you happen to be reading these journals (which I was doing before interning here) I definitely urge you to apply. Today, I finished up loose-end reviews, wrote some emails urging the outside contacts that I've made to write me at my non-HM email address, and burned a copy of all the computer work I've done while I've been here. Hello digital portfolio!
D2, if you're reading this, keep up the good work. You're too friggin wise about everything, and I attribute that to the fact that you read books and stuff, while I watch TV. Continue this, for I would say it is a good habit to have. And do the one thing I didn't have time to at HM...finish watching the ESPN Playmakers DVD series. It was a pleasure viewing Freaks and Geeks and Futurama with you, and I'm sorry I can't be there for the end of this epic football drama too.
And now I will head back to the college, graduate in about a year, and then we'll see if the music industry has a place for me in some capacity. Will I manage a band? Work at a publicity firm? Design and print bands' t-shirts on low-quality cotton materials? Only the future the knows that one, kids.
It's been a pleasure, and I sincerely thank everyone at HM Magazine for making it happen.

Today was more of data entry, with a side order of listening to indie CDs. But mostly data entry. And as the day drew to a close, I picked up a few CDs to review. So that's what I'll be doing tonight, along with watching TV, and eating Flinstone Push-Ups...love them frost frozen treats. And tomorrow is my last day...

After a lengthy break, I'm back. And now I'm 22. What does this mean? Absolutely nothing. If I shave, I still look like a 17 year old, and if I don't, I still look like a hobo. Gotta love it.
Today's schedule included unpacking and counting up merchandise that came back unsold from the HM staff's booth at Cornerstone Festival in IL. I get a free t-shirt out of the deal, so rock on. I entered in info from the signup sheets at Cornerstone too, so someday, those people who signed up will receive mailings due to my typing skills, or random people will receive unrequested mailing due to my lack of typing addresses correctly. One thing is for sure: people everywhere across the country have horrible handwriting and are partially accountable if they don't get onto the mailing list correctly.
Kobe a Clipper? Nugget? SPUR? I'd hate to start liking the Spurs now after talking so much trash about them in the past.

Today marks the first day my picture was added to the journal entry page...on week 7 of my 8 weeks here. It's at a weird angle, with my least favorite beanie on. Makes me look like I don't have a fully sized head. Well I have news for all of you. I truly DO have a fully sized head. Doug evidently opted against using the picture of me at age two holding a plastic guitar. It's darling.
Today was more of data entry, but the coolest news of all was the fact that both D2 and I are getting into Warped Tour for free. Me in SA, him in Dallas. I'm not Master P, but I got the hookup. And I'm white.

What can I say about today. I entered merch sales data into an Excel database.
I also finished spot-checking some old subscriber info, to make sure it was entered into other databases. Most of it was.
The NBA Draft is tonight on ESPN. I've got nothing better to do, so I'll be watching high schoolers and college dropouts walk across a stage and shake hands with a short bald dude.

I'm back, and feeling better. I typed up and finished the MTE and Hawk Nelson reviews, and did a bunch of sorting and looking through old subscriber info. I tried finding hi res images of old FSF albums but with no luck. Two I can scan, two are impossible to find. I put 6 old reviews on the website for view by anyone and everyone. I also watched more Freeks and Geeks. That's a darn good series. These journal entries just keep getting shorter and shorter...

I only made it through 1pm before my aching stomach prompted me to go home. I listened to and reviewed the 12 Stones CD, and started on the More Than Electric review, so the day wasn't completely wasted. Tonight I'll write my Hawk Nelson review from the comfort of my bed with pencil and paper in hand, and I'll watch more TV than should be allowed.

Work as usual today. Did a little bit of designing, did a little bit of inserting names into a database, did a little bit of watching Freeks and Geeks on DVD, did a little bit of staff meeting, got a little bit of assignments. Reviews for the following albums: Hawk Nelson, More Than Electric, and 12 Stones.
Although I have failed to write it in on most days journal entries, I do spend some time to eat lunch. For any future HM interns, this lunch break is a priveledge, not a right. Do not take this lightly, as even the slightest snarl in the direction of Dictator Doug will cause you to lose the luxury of nourishment.
But you can slap him a couple times, and that goes without penalty. Again, do not abuse this luxury either.

I took a trip down memory lane. All the way back to 3 weeks ago, when I was the only intern in the office. D2 was absent, so I was given task after task, to which I tried to multitask. Some success, some failure, but overall a quality day of work. I'm currently working on getting some photos for the FSF feature, and hopefully that will work out. I also have a little design something or other to do. I did a unrelated design today that will probably not be used, but then I tinkered with it so it REALLY won't be used.

Today was remodeling day. New desk in, old desk out, other desk changing rooms. Cleaning, reorganizing, and all kinds of dusty fun. And I watched a DVD called Osama, that bored me to the point of numbness. Unfortunately, I have no other stories for the day. And I forgot to Total Gym it up today. Bleep. Oh well, it was a fun day regardless of my lack of Chuck Norris-inspired muscle strengthening.

Wow.
I didn't know Colin Hobbs was murdered.
That is too crazy.
Have a great time at the show tonight.
And have fun riding that scooter thing around again soon.
