friday, july 12th:
today was my last day at hm magazine. i was sitting in my room last night watching "almost famous." i was wondering why i hadn't seen that before i came to hm. oh well, thanks lonny for lending it to me.
today was a very sad day for me. i tried not to show it. goodbyes are always hard for me. through my experience at hm i've made some of the greatest friends who i hope to see again someday. justin was the first to go, so i thought i would just kind of sneak off in his shadow, or something, haha.
so here's the deal. my first night in austin i hung out with lonny at some crazy little dive called graffiti's. little did i know that lonny would be one of the best friends i'd ever have. i'm really glad that i got to know you lonny. remember the alamo will rise again, for the first time, haha. tell kate i said bye for now, at least until she makes some of those "wicked" sausages.
i didn't think much of chris at first. he was emo, and i was metal, haha. but today (!) i realized that i would have a hard time saying goodbye to him. we became great friends during the festivals, and we're on the same team, haha(he'll get it). gatlinburg and country bears forever.
now jeff, or stevedave, whichever you'd like to call him. i liked him right off the bat. his accent alone was enough to entertain me for weeks. i hope i didn't offend him with my nod to the menonites. i was just trying to make a point that they're good workers. i love menonites!!!
amanda and i seemed to have a lot in common, with our love of 311 and a certain t.v. show that i will not mention. i liked her a lot. at first i didn't really know about her. she seemed to be obsessed with chad kroeger, but she ended up being a very rad girl. i hope i see you again soon amanda. don't forget me when you go back to fresno. tell nick i said hello, haha.
lee haley taught me so much about advertising, even though he doesn't think he did. even though you make your coffee too strong, i still like you lee. one bad pig forever!!!
i learned quite a bit about rock music from jason dodd on our way back from the two thirty-eight show in san antonio. he's one funny guy. i just hope he's not still jealous, haha.
doug's pretty cool too. i mean, come on, he was in lust control, hahahahaha. doug, regardless of what you think, i like your hair, and the fact that you like creed when no one else does. it takes guts man, guts that i don't have. honestly, you taught me a lot about so many things.
i'm honored to have the chance to volunteer. i will miss you all very much. i'm sorry i couldn't stay longer. let's all have an intern reunion in 5 years. i'll make punch. well kiddos, that's it for daniel. thank you for tuning in one last time. until our paths cross again...i miss you guys.

wednesday, june 19th:
today i emailed the crud out of people. i got kimberly at george l's to send the prizes she promised us to pennsylvania. i called a ton of labels to see if they'd be interested in giveaways. the only one i got a hold of was jason dunn at facedown. he said he'd think about it and get back to us. right now, i'm about to take lonny to drop off some magazines at a church somewhere. it's hot outside. i'm going home tomorrow to gather my things for the festivals. that should be fun. rock and roll!!!
tuesday, june 18th:
Today was pretty cool. We had a short bible study on the beattitudes. Then we went and ate some killer barbecue at Rudy's. I transcribed my interview with Elijah Blue. I'm proud of it, haha. It was funny to listen to us talking. Now Jeff is asking me a question about his journal ending. We're going to the dollar movies after work. That should be fun. DEADSY is the best band on the planet!!!

monday, june 17:
today i found out that i was going to do my deadsy interview. i spent the whole day in a panic, as i hadn't actually written down any of my questions. i came up with more than enough questions, though. at 4:30, elijah blue, the son of cher, and the head of one of the sickest bands ever, gave me a call. we sat there and talked for a good 30 minutes. it went really well. he responded very well to the jesus questions. so now i just need to transcribe it all. man, what a day!!!

friday, june 14:
i helped lonny out again today. i don't know exactly what i was doing, but it had to do with the email list. i also split duties with jeff on calling bands for the sampler. we mostly got voice mail, but we did get a few replies, so that's good. i'm going to dallas tomorrow to play a show. it's going to be fun. we're opening for beanbag. there should be a lot of people there, i can't wait!!!

thursday, june 13:
i helped lonny again today. i separated email addresses, but i messed up a little. amanda just asked me why i write in without using capital letters, haha. now i'm about to email juliana plotkin about the deadsy interview. i can't wait to do that. i'm a huge fan. i also got my oil changed. that was boring. i was there for like an hour. anyways, thursday's over. tomorrow is friday, YAY!!!

wednesday, june 12th:
today i helped lonny clean up and organize the shed. it was fun, except for the spiders. there were these massive spiders everywhere out by the shed. i'm so scared of them. they just freak me out in every way. but fortunately, i'm alive still. i found out that i like the ramones alot!!! i also like this band called blaster the rocket boy. anyways, today was cool.

tuesday, june 11th:
today was cool. i helped trace pictures of denison marrs. we all had a big meeting to talk about what was going on with everyone. now i'm just writing this here journal thingamjig. tomorrow will be a super busy day for me, so my entry should be longer.

monday, june 10th:
today i revised my falling cycle story. i also did a little bit with the sampler. we mostly sat around reviewing indie cd's. some were good. some were not-so-good. now i'm sleepy and hungry.
