Nariman Sakafish
8-16:
"Gone But Never Forgotten...." that is going to be the latest title for me before I leave here. You know what? I like it here. It's pretty laid back. I have learned a lot about dealing with the clients and designing something from scratch, prioritizing my designs and budgeting. There was so much things I had learned. Taking a newer steps of designing with metallic colors via foil and pricings for reserving an ad space. There is so much I have learned it is incredible. I think Lee is very talented and creative, he is a great addition to HM!(cynical SARCASM). Honestly I REALLY HELPED HIM OUT WITH PHOTOSHOP AND GAVE HIM A HARD TIME ON DESIGNING. To everyone at HM you know who you are I'm not going to exclude someone. I'll miss you all and I'll keep you guys in touch
8-15:
Nothing happened much today. Just this court day I have to go to. It's horrible. I never like going to court but I have to go. Lonny had the idea about the silver emblem and he said it is very cheap. So I give it a try for it and I did. Doug is going to leave for Harrisburg leaving us three behind. I'll be leaving tomorrow to take care of last minute ordeals before I go. He had given me recommendations of record companies where I should go to. I was grateful of Doug helping me out where I should go because not only I want to work or intern but I need some $$ to make ends meet.
8-14
Lonny and I are designing the folders again... we were testing out the colors and it seems like the we can work something out with the colors but we were playing around with it and found some killer designs with the bird. We made a few more folder designs with some color
8-13:
Well another day has rolled by as I count down the days until my "DEATH." Speaking of death I need to take care of that ticket GRRR or else I do not want to deal with this again. I have better things to do rather than go to court for a ticket. I am relieved. Doug got all the print estimates for the folders so he had given me the costs of it. I have lay out the designs to decide what doug wants. It's pretty much there for him. Oh I saw a pic of Lee with the long hair. He totally reminds me of Weird Al. Its just too funny looking. I am basically done with the layout of the band list. Since I cannot make any last minute ideas for some new ads. I wish I could at least stay a bit longer I'll be better off investing more time.
8-12
Well I had been assigned another task to do since it is my last week here at HM. I am feeling very down right now but I wish I can stay here a bit longer. School is really getting in my way and I definitely do not want to go back. But I am almost done with school. Enough of academics for now. But I am basically done setting up the quark layout for the folders doug wanted to see. In other news I saw pics of Zao Sarah took. Must I say WOW!!! I am so impressed. I need to get myself a better camera than I have now.
8-9
I had helped Lee with the Christmas Ad and I've given him a hard time. I was really picky with the ad. First I never liked the Santa Claus at all and I wanted it to cover the whole body. He STILL needed help with the cloning tool and I had to help him with it. Oh Lonnie gave me a happy face sticker and I asked to have another one for my forehead. "Greedy" said Lonny (laughs) but I started to act like an Indian with the accent!!!! I talked to Lee with the accent and Talking about Master Zao (hysterical laughter) I was all "Master Zao, does not appreciate your designs. Once a teenager was harassing master Zao and master Zao slapped him silly." It drove Lee nuts!!! It was great we had a good time.
8-8:
Today I went to the seminar and there were parts that was just boring. I was kind of confused because I did not know what he was talking about. Lee was getting all excited about the whole seminar. I wanted to get to the main point about the whole ad sale. For me I wanted to design something with creativity and at the same time send out the message on what I wanted it to say to engage the readers. Anything to provoke. Lee and I were doing the christmas tree AD and I was really given him a hard time with it. (hysterical laugh) I have a list of references for Doug to check out several record companies that I can work with when I go "home." I miss the weather badly.
8-7:
Hopefully Doug decided to take care of the calls regarding the pricing for the folders. I am pretty much excited. Well I was kind of pissed that I wasted my time doing the Illustrator logo for nothing. It was a Christmas tree. So lee and I looked for a Christmas tree for the November/December ad. I said to him "NO CHEESY PHOTOS". One of my biggest pet peeves. I've decided to help him out. Oh yeah Lee and I went to get the photocopier for today. It took us about three hours.
8-6:
Well I have decided to finish up the folder designs that I have made. I was stoked about it. Doug have made some calls and he said to me that he would get an email regarding the price. I have to wait until tomorrow to find out the prices. Since it is a week and a half away from me I am going to get all of my stuff burned in a CD and take care of what I had done.
8-5:
Well I'm happy that the crew is back! It was really nice of Jason to give me a shirt from the Furnace Fest. I'm pretty tired myself and I only live once to see the Padre Island and feel the WARM WATERS of MEXICO. Everyone went somewhere for the weekends. Doug went somewhere Lee went to his HS reunion and the rest, well FURNACE FEST. Doug liked my idea for the folders but he wanted to do some spot colors. So I did. Yes, Due to some budget consistencies I have to make some engagements to find several design solutions. (sighs) I finally installed Illustrator 9 on "my" computer here and Doug LOVED it. It's a BIG relief for me and for the coworkers as well. They will appreciate me later. I'm out.
