Friday, July 26:
Thanks a whole bunch for teaching me this summer all ye HM staff and fellow interns. Oh and be sure to be on the look out for a new band, The Shunned, coming to a town near you. Words cannot describe how amazing they are. Peace.

Thursday, July 25:
Today I scanned some pictures of Whitecross for Doug, proofread some album reviews, looked over Lonny's shoulder and searched for CD's for Lee. Tomorrow is Friday and is my last day at HM.

Wednesday, July 24:
Jason gave me till the end of the day to write 500 words on the new Blindside record, which in my opinion is a good rock and roll record. Also, I learned that rounding up photos of bands is a little harder than one may think. I entered in the data that I compiled from the surveys onto the computer today and I also sent out a couple mass e-mails for our sexy ad director, Lee Haley. Wendy's was for lunch and on the way to Wendy's we listened to Maladroit which in my opinion is a good rock and roll record.

Tuesday, July 23:
Today a couple of us interns got to model some fancy HM T-shirts. Doug Van Pelt was the fashion photographer, I hear he's the best so I am hoping this shoot is really going to launch my modeling career. Luke from Anah Aevia sent back the answers to my interview questions so it looks like there will be a newspiece story on them in the next issue. In the afternoon Jason and Lonny worked on the cover for the next issue with Denison Marrs, it looks pretty rad. Tomorrow is Wednesday.

Monday, July 22:
Doug and I just got back from a trip to H.E.B. On the way back we discussed the best writers ever to write for HM and the process of planning for the next issue. Jason gave me a 500 word assignment on Anah Aevia today and hopefully tomorrow I'll get the answers back for the questions I sent. Also today I and the rest of the HM staff wrote a paragraph about their favorite act from Cornerstone. Tomorrow is Tuesday.

Friday, July 19:
Yet again, an HM intern is leaving and moving on to other things. Chris Rose R.I.P. Today I worked with Lee to get some all important ads. I also proofread some more stories that are going to be in the next issue. Doug and I had a conversation about swearing and drinking during lunch. Other than that, next week is my last at the HM offices.

Thursday, July 18:We continued to proofread stories that are going to appear in the Sept/Oct issue from the likes of Stavesacre, Living Sacrifice, Denison Marrs, Lifehouse, Element 101, twothirtyeight, and rockandroll worship circus. I really enjoyed the Living Sacrifice article. The article gives a time-line of events for LS and its really comprehensive. Lee and Chris went to Sonic today and I think they got lost. Lonny, Amanda, Nari, and I watched videos during the lunch hour. Jason stays in his office. Ok, now I've mentioned everybody.

Wednesday, July 17:
Lee was a madman today as he was trying to round up all the ad contracts he had sent out. Needless to say, it was a little hectic for good old Lee. I worked on my indie pick of the litter reviews and I thought all three bands (Nourish the Flames, Antiskeptic, and Proclamation) had redeeming qualities that made each band interesing. We also started proofreading some of the stories that are going to be in the Sept/Oct, such as: mewithoutyou, Deadsy, and Chevelle.

Tuesday, July 16:
Today I finished up my 2 stories and my album reviews. Doug is now assigning the interns different albums to review/talk about for the pick of the litter section (I got three of them). Jason talked to me today which is a change of pace, seeming he usually just grunts in my general direction (because he's usually tired, overworked, swamped in deadline, > etc). I don't see Lee Haley as much anymore as he is furiously attacking the music industry for more ads. Also, and this I found extra hilarious: Lee's baby said its first word today and I kid you not, it was "boob." The child pointed at his mother's breast and said "boob." Thats gold.

Monday, July 15:
After breathing the same contaminated air as the other sickies at HM, I now have come down with a cold. I think I have Lonny to thank for that. Anyway, today I worked on the Lifehouse story and was assigned another review (the live Stavesacre album). I have been listening to the new Denison Marrs a lot lately and it is full of good pop tunes. Definitely check it out when it comes out. Personally I am looking foward to seeing this issue in a hard copy, I think it's going to be out of this world.

Friday, July 12:
I got assigned three more reviews today (Hanover Saints, Denison Marrs, and Nodes of Ranvier(Go SD)) and one more story(Lifehouse). I wasn't supposed to do the Lifehouse story, but I guess they are not doing interviews at this time so I am going to do to it with research and jedi mind tricks. Another intern left today, Daniel, and again we all said goodbye and had a good cry. That's all true except for the cry part. But it was sad. This weekend is going to be filled with sun, reading, writing, no arithmetic, maybe some running or basketball, movie watching, church at Austin Mennonite Church, and dreaming of Lee Haley.

Thursday, July 11:
I entered the last of those nasty e-mails into the computer today and fine tuned all my writings that are going to be in the next HM. Nari is proofreading them as I write this. Chris dressed up today for us. He says he's running out of clothes that are clean, but I know the truth, he wanted to look pretty. Doug was calling everybody Hank and Coltrane today because he's crazy.
