Bombworks Records Update
Bombworks Records recently began its most aggressive release schedule ever. Earlier in the year the label released the debut from Ukranian black metallers Usynlig Tumult ("Voices of Shadows"). Starting in April, though, a flurry of releases began. Norway's atmospheric death / black band In Grief released their debut album, "Deserted Soul", which was followed up the next week by the sophomore release "Terraphobic" from Michigan's ocean metallers Dagon, released as a deluxe 8-panel digipak with amazing original artwork by Jan Yrlund. The week after that saw the reissue (and 10 year anniversary) of Mexican prog thrash / death band Lament's very hard to find second album "Through the Reflection" as a Special Edition 6-panel digipak (art done by Matt of Darkwave, who also did the art for My Silent Wake's "A Garland of Tears"), additionally featuring the original 1995 4-song Beheaded cassette demo for the first time on CD. 2 weeks later saw the release of the debut album from Bloodline Severed, released as an 8-panel deluxe digipak with artwork also done by Matt of Darkwave. During the month of April and May, David from Bombworks also personally attended CD release shows for both Dagon and Bloodline Severed and even offered some vocal assistance on a few songs at the shows. Now that we are in June, the impending release of the first new album from Seventh Angel in over 15 years is nearly upon us. "The Dust of Years" will land on 6/23 as an 8-panel digipak with original artwork done by Matt of Darkwave and will feature 9 brand new tracks that tread new ground while still hearkening back to the classic Seventh Angel thrash sound. Cornerstone Festival is 6/29 - 7/4, and for the third year in a row, Bombworks Records will be sponsoring Day of Metal (cosponsored by Nokternal Hemizphear), a full day of nothing but metal bands on one stage. This year will be the biggest one yet, with 16 bands slated to play, 7 of which are part of the Bombworks roster. The full schedule will be posted later this
week. To coincide with Cornerstone, Bombworks will be releasing 3 brand new albums. Though not officially streeting until 7/21, all 3 albums should be available for Cornerstone attenders. The first is the melodic black metal debut from Illinois' A Hill To Die Upon titled "Infinite Titanic Immortal", which will be released as an 8-panel digipak with amazing original artwork from Bogdan of Serbia. The second is the debut full length from California's symphonic black / death outfit Dark Lay Still titled "Through Hell", a concept album being released as a 6-panel digipak and featuring the classic artwork of Gustave Dore's depiction of Dante's The Divine Comedy. The third album is the debut full length release from Arizona's modern death / black band Darkness Before Dawn titled "King's To You", tracked and mixed at Lambesis Studios, being released as an 8-panel digipak. All 3 bands will be playing the nightcap of Day of Metal at
Cornerstone and should have the new CDs available for sale. Bombworks Records will be including a metal sampler in the upcoming issue of SOD Magazine, a magazine specializing in all forms of extreme metal, and the sampler will be available with all copies of the magazine. Tracks will be included from all albums mentioned already and will also include tracks from bands like Holy Blood, My Silent Wake, Sympathy, and Arnion. The magazine will also be featuring Bombworks own Dagon.

A Skylight Drive News
A Skylit Drive will premiere their upcoming album, Adelphia, on MySpace Music on 6/6th and 7th. The record is set to be released on 6/9th via Fearless Records. This is the follow up to last year's work, Wires And The Concept Of Breathing, which scanned close to 30,000 copies and received a full page AP Recommends profile as well as appearing in the 100 Bands You Need To Know in February. Vocalist Michael Jagmin (Jag) describes Adelphia the fictional city that is the focal point of the album as "It’s a city where a lot of dark, creepy things happen and in the middle of it are two people, a couple who realize how messed up things are and are trying to escape the city.” “It’s a parallel situation to someone growing up and trying to break away from a strict upbringing without damaging the relationship and ties with their family. The couple are trying to extract themselves from Adelphia but not destroy the ties they have to the city.” Possessed by progressive, hard hitting arrangements and soaring melodic hooks, A Skylit Drive’s music bridges rock, emo, prog and post hardcore within the same song.

Decyfer Down Thanks You For Your Support
As many of you know, the members of Decyfer Down have come across some life threatening battles in the last month, and with numerous inquiries about such, we thought we would let all of you know about such at the same time. On April 21, guitarist Chris Clonts and his wife Meghan welcomed Christopher Hayden Clonts into the world. Shortly after their son’s birth, Meghan became extremely ill and the doctors found she had a severe infection that caused her to be away from her newborn for days at a time. After three weeks in quarantine, Meghan was treated and released from the hospital and is now happy and healthy with her husband and son. The day after Meghan was released from the hospital, Josh Oliver, drummer of Decyfer Down, and his wife Victoria received some devastating news. Victoria was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer. Thankfully, the doctors caught it early enough so that it didn’t spread to any other parts of her body. The tumor is located between her lungs and heart and is the size of a softball. Due to the fragile location of the tumor, the doctors are unable to operate, so Victoria has started chemotherapy treatments for a period of 18 weeks. Making matters even more difficult they were denied health insurance coverage. Throughout this time, the band has received an outpouring of letters and emails from fans who have expressed their sympathies and prayers for the band and their families. “I am graciously thankful and humbled by the outpouring of love and support for my family and for the Decyfer Down family,” says Josh Oliver. “Please continue to keep us in prayer and we will keep you updated via the band’s myspace and website.” They ask that you please keep Josh and Victoria in your prayers, and if you, or your readers would like to know about how to donate or send gifts, you may do so by visiting victoriasvictory.org where you an also check on her progress.

SSE welcomes Wrench In The Works to the Family
Secret Service Entertainment is proud to announce and welcome Facedown Records artists Wrench In The Works to the family. Taking the innovation of a “contempo-noise” alternative genre and joining it with the fundamental excellence of bands like Converge, Deadguy and Zao, Wrench In The Works has honed a style of progressive music that is genuinely unique and savagely majestic. A sound which is brutally aggressive joins with well-written metal-influenced-hardcore to show its unabashed rebellion against the genre’s restricting conventions. As experimental metal begins to flow with the mainstream, Wrench In The Works desists from the gimmicks that plague the stage during so many metal-hardcore hybrid shows, allowing the unconventionality of their writing to shine through. Wrench In The Works’ accomplishments have exceeded the status quo of the average underground band. The release of their 2005 full-length, “Prodigal Transmission,” took the band on their first self promoted national tour as well as an eastern Canadian tour and countless weekend shows, continuously teaming up with a broad range of bands. With seemingly limitless ingenuity and passion, members Andy Nelson, Justin Mehl and Darrell Tauro will continue shattering ear drums as well as genre barriers as they write and record for their debut Facedown release.

Sidewalk Prophets Release New Album
New Fervent Records band Sidewalk Prophets will make their CBA industry debut on Aug. 25 with the release of These Simple Truths. Already touring more than 150 dates per year, the band has shared the stage with acts like MercyMe, Michael W. Smith, Jeremy Camp, Audio Adrenaline and others before signing with the Nashville label. Sidewalk Prophets initially made a name for themselves at Indiana’s Anderson University where frontmen and main songwriters Dave Frey and Ben McDonald met. The band was unwittingly submitted for a campus recording competition, won and later attracted the attention of music executives before relocating to Music City. Members Cal Joslin and Justin Nace joined the band upon Sidewalk Prophet’s arrival to Nashville. Produced by Ian Eskelin (Stellar Kart, Francesca Battistelli, Sarah Reeves), These Simple Truths centers on the hope that Christ’s love provides. Like most of the band’s recordings, their ministry focus is to help people embrace the uniqueness God has given them. “The more we look at today’s problems the more we see that a lot of times people are fearful of being themselves,” explains Frey. “And finding our identity in Christ is one of the most crucial steps in loving others. Once people start realizing this and living confidently we’ll see a visible change from households to communities to ultimately the world. “That’s what we’re all about. The name ‘Sidewalk Prophets’ even means that we are common people speaking the truth about life from our perspective as followers of Christ.” Already garnering radio airplay on KLTY’s “New Music Café” with “You Love Me Anyway,” Sidewalk Prophets’ first album single, “The Words I Would Say,” is scheduled for release to radio 6/19.

Coriolis Signs To YoungSide Records
After 2 years of inactivity, the popular industrial metal band, Coriolis, is back with a vengeance. "I am truly excited about the future," says Arlene Marais, president of YoungSide Records. "It is a great opportunity to work with Coriolis, and be a part of the growing Christian industrial scene." YoungSide Records is a label which specializes in "bands who rock hard, but clean." After working with and developing artists such as Disciple, The Awakening, and Bridgeshadows, YoungSide has enjoyed a reputation for providing high-quality music that doesn't compromise. Coriolis is an industrial metal band, in the vein of Circle of Dust and Klank, (or Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, in the secular scene.) After selling out of the first pressing of their debut album, Coriolis is now working with YoungSide Records to immediately put out a re-release with a bonus track. "I was blown away when I realized that we actually sold out of the first run of CD's, especially since we weren't playing any shows during that time," says Coriolis founder, Jonathan P. Stamets. "Now that we realize that people really dig this music, we're looking forward to working with YoungSide. It's been way too long since bands Circle of Dust and Klank made their splash, and too many labels have been afraid to work with the newer bands. I think that with YoungSide's help, we have a real chance to breathe some new life into the scene." The Coriolis self titled re-release will be available in late June, at youngside.com, and also at Coriolis' live performances at Cornerstone 2009.

Breaking The Silence News
Breaking the Silence has changed their name and have signed with Tooth & Nail Records. Soon after inking the deal with Tooth and Nail, a great opportunity came the bands way. Legendary producer Toby Wright (Alice In Chains, Korn, 3 Doors Down) just happened to have an window open and expressed interest in working with BTS. Of course, they jumped at this rare opportunity and for the past couple months, the band has been locked away in Seattle with Mr. Wright creating what will be their first release for Tooth and Nail. Things are going absolutely amazing right now and they will keep you updated as things progress. The tentative release date is 9/22nd, 2009. With all things great, there are always bumps along the way.... We have found that another band has a name that is similar to Breaking the Silence. To avoid confusion, Breaking the Silence has officially changed their name to "THE LETTER BLACK". The band states this about the meaning of "THE LETTER BLACK": "All of us go through different chapters in our lives. In these chapters we write letters of good and bad times. Some letters in our chapters, we are happy to share. Others, we are not so proud of. "The Letter Black" reminds us of the past mistakes we have made and helps us remember to not keep making the same mistakes". THE LETTER BLACK can be seen this summer at select spot dates as they put the finishing touches on the new album including festivals such as Cornerstone, Signal Light and a main stage spot at Rock the Desert in Texas. You will get a chance to hear them try out new material before joining Skillet on the fall leg of the Comatose Tour.
