War Of Ages On 10 For $10 Tour
IndieMerchStore.com is bringing back the hardcore matinee! Amid economy woes, rising show costs and the dilution of hardcore packages, they will present the 10 For $10 summer tour. Ten quality bands for ten dollars, headlined by Poison The Well, who will be performing on every date, and on separate legs of the tour headline spots from Madball, Bane and Vision Of Disorder. Also appearing will be established bands with rabid followings such as Terror, Death Before Dishonor, War Of Ages, Crime In Stereo, Trapped Under Ice, The Mongoloids, The Ghost Inside, This Is Hell and Vision. Speaking on the creation of the tour booking guru Tim Borror of The Agency Group said, “This tour is important because hardcore music is a lifestyle and has been an inspiration to the people who get involved and know what the movement and music is all about. In the last few years the crowds have been a bit smaller than what they should be and we hope an idea like this where kids are getting an opportunity to check out a lot of bands for cheap will inspire some new kids to come out, get involved and become a part of this scene to help it grow.” 10 for $10 has been made possible by these companies: Facedown Records, Century Media Records, Pitchfork Hardwear, Bridge Nine Records, Peta2, Black N Blue Productions, Hollywood Music TV, Ferret Music, The Agency Group, and all the bands taking the stage!

FM Static Teams Up With Youth Specialties
Following in the footsteps of their conceptual album "Dear Diary" from FM Static, the band has teamed up with Youth Specialties to bring a free devotional guide to youth pastors. The "Dear Diary" Bible study guide is designed as a Vacation Bible School or outreach for teens. "This is something special that has never been done on one of our records before," shares Trevor McNevan of FM Static. "It's a fresh modern day twist on the traditional Bible study as we know it. This goes hand in hand with the story and the songs on the record. It's a more in-depth look at life's questions and makes the points made in the story more relatable and conversation based." The study takes 10 days for the youth group to complete, using one song per day from the album. Each teen will listen to one song per day followed by a corresponding verse given by their youth leader via Facebook, Twitter, phone or email. The youth leader will then provide a series of questions to ponder per verse. "'Dear Diary' captures so well the teen angst and the 'unavoidable battle of feeling on the outside' that youth workers see on a daily basis as they minister to kids," states Bethany Marvin of Youth Specialties. "The music itself says that where there may not be answers, there is still a purpose. Communicating that message is at the heart of every youth worker's ministry. We hope the downloaded Bible study will be used as a tool to take the listener that much closer to the powerful message woven throughout this record." Youth leaders just need to go to www.fmstatic.com/devo and download the PDF guide. Students and leaders can also listen to the album streaming as well as watch the animated music video for "Boy Moves to A New Town with Optimistic Outlook." Radio airwaves continue to tell the story from FM Static with the debut singles from "Dear Diary." The first CHR single "Take Me As I Am" has steadily moved up to #11 this week, and at Rock "The Unavoidable Battle of Feeling on the Outside" moved into the Top 10.

Underneath The Gun Announces Final Show
Ferret Music artists, Underneath The Gun has announced the unfortunate dissolution of the band. Due to growing health concerns from singer Harrison DeGrote which prevents him from touring the band have been forced to part ways. The band recently released their debut full length Forfeit Misfortunes on Ferret in January of 2009. Abort Mag said the album was an “intense battle of underground death metal insanity that just can’t be contained.” Bring on Mixed Reviews agreed, saying “passion explodes from every track.” Underneath the Gun will be dropping off of the Artery Metal Tour and will play their last show on May 24th at The Glasshouse on the second day of the Spring Breakdown Festival in Pomona, CA. In member related news, Drummer Isaac Bueno will be filling in for Impending Doom on the Artery Metal Tour and the other members (Trevor Vickers [guitar], Kyle Sims [bass]) may pop up in the lineups of other bands shortly.
