Hundred Year Storm Is Back
After a two year hiatus from an exhaustive amount of touring (400 shows in 3 years), the band is poised to return with their 12-track epic opus "The Future Belongs To The Brave". Their signature space-rock sound has been redefined around themes for our current times: recession, war, disasters and personal loss. Despite the feelings many associate with these, the message of "The Future." is one of confidence, anticipation, optimism and the facing towards a new horizon. With destruction surrounding us, whether it is literal or metaphysical, addressing these events we are reminded 'nothing ends here, our hopes and our journeys continue'. Engineered and mastered by David Dreesen (Knockout Kings, widows&orphans), "The Future." soars to HUNDRED YEAR STORM'S familiar heights but takes time to come back to earth for more somber passages that it's intense subject matter demands. From the powerful opening chords of "Look to the Skies" to the aural collage of "Dying Giant"
and refrain of "Come Broken Heroes" this is the band's finest hour. HUNDRED YEAR STORM has previously released music with Northern Records and Floodgate Records. This is their debut for Doll House Recordings.

Mike Farris Releases Live Album
Soul-stirring rocker Mike Farris releases Mike Farris SHOUT! LIVE, a collection of live recordings from the Sunday Night Shout series at the legendary Station Inn in Nashville. Featuring the McCrary Sisters and the Roseland Rhythm Revue, Mike Farris SHOUT! LIVE captures the energy, power and emotional conviction that has become synonymous with a Mike Farris performance. The album will feature songs from four nights of recording during the fall of 2008 and will be released on both vinyl and CD on April 14th by INO/Columbia records. The Sunday Night Shout series showcases Farris' passionate blend of soul, gospel, American folk, and rock, and it has become a wide-reaching platform for the testimony he preaches through his vibrant music. In his own words Farris says the mission of the Sunday Night Shout is "...To provide musical manna to the hearts, souls, and minds of the good people of Nashville and beyond...Our wish is for every person to leave us on Sundays to go back into the world feeling excited, delighted, and loved." The Sunday Night Shout has become a must-see event in Nashville and will take up residency once again at the iconic venue in March. The selections on Mike Farris SHOUT! LIVE range from vulnerable and mournful to joyful and celebratory, full of struggles and ultimately healing. These intimate recordings feature powerhouse vocals and funky, solid grooves that pull you into the soulful environment of friendship and fellowship. As Farris says, "Church is the people, the music, a warm and comfortable place for humans to connect with each other and with God." The Sunday Night Shout series certainly epitomizes this redefined notion of church, which is undoubtedly why people from all walks of life and all religious backgrounds have found themselves caught up in the spirit and emotion of Farris' music and performance. Like all great artists, Farris transcends boundaries. His career kicked into hyper-drive after a poignant rendition of "Green, Green Grass of Home" at the 2007 Porter Wagoner Tribute during the Americana Music Festival & Conference. In 2008, Farris was named the Americana Music Association's New/Emerging artist of the Year. Music luminaries including Buddy Miller and Marty Stuart are raving about Farris, the former hard rocking frontman for the Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, and his music has been embraced by AAA radio, the Gospel Music Channel and the Americana format.
While continuing to blend his rock and folk roots, Farris also found himself drawn to ancient spirituals and sacred songs of old. Driven by his own life experiences, he wanted to capture the strife and struggle for peace that can only be found in what he calls, "Music with dirt on its feet and sweat on its back. Weathered by the elements. Music birthed into this world by the sound of our souls declaring this life for its own!" Combined with his electric stage performances, it is this distinctive and gut-wrenching sound that has turned Mike Farris into an artist with whom so many fans connect. Farris' rousing and spiritual live shows have won over thousands of fans and his reputation as a force of positive energy continues to grow. Farris has again been invited to appear at the Strawberry Festival in Yellowstone National Park in May, as well as at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in June. This summer Farris will also perform at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival for the second year in a row and in August he will be opening for the incomparable Patti LaBelle at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Mike Farris SHOUT! LIVE offers a taste of this unique live experience and gives listeners a chance to be a part of the undeniable energy and spirit that surrounds Mike Farris.

Stryper News
Legendary Christian rock band Stryper has announced plans for a 25th Anniversary Tour, hitting 50 cities in North America this fall before going international in January and February 2010. Stryper's upcoming studio album Murder by Pride (Big3 Records) will be released in July. The 25th Anniversary Tour, scheduled to launch in September, will be a two-set show. The first set will feature new Stryper material and include current bassist Tracy Ferrie, along with original members Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet and Oz Fox. The second set will feature all four original members, including original bassist Tim Gaines, wearing the original yellow and black stage outfits and performing the band's hits from the last 25 years. "After recently learning about how precious life is and how often we take for granted the time that we have here on earth, I realized that this tour may very well be the most important tour in the history of Stryper," said Michael Sweet. "Tim, Robert, Tracy, Oz and myself are all stepping out together to show the importance of unity and forgiveness and the only way to show this is to live it. We've been faced with challenges over the past 25 years but two things have remained certain within our hearts and within our lives - the power of God's love and the beauty of God's grace." The tour will be a family project, with Michael Sweet Jr's band Flight Patterns opening all dates. Their debut album will release on Fifty Three Five Records in July. In 1984, Stryper broke on to the scene with their debut EP Yellow and Black Attack, and have since gone on to sell 8 million albums and tour the world spreading an inspirational message through their branded sound of rock songs, heavy guitars and pristine harmony vocals. The group's unprecedented 1986 album To Hell with the Devil went platinum and was named one of the “100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music” by CCM Magazine. In 2008, Michael Sweet joined legendary band BOSTON on vocals and guitar for their 54-city summer headlining tour of North America, performing the band's classic hits like "More than a Feeling," “Peace of Mind,” “Amanda” and “Don't Look Back.” BOSTON has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, including the band's 1976 self-titled debut, which has sold over 17 million copies to date and was the highest selling debut of all time. Murder by Pride will include a cover of the BOSTON song "Peace of Mind" that features BOSTON guitarist Tom Scholz on the recording. Ironically, Stryper had recorded "Peace of Mind" and planned to put it on their 2009 release long before Michael Sweet was even considered as a new member of BOSTON.
In 2008, BOSTON's Tom Scholz and Gary Pihl joined Stryper on stage to perform “Peace of Mind” for VH1 Classic's After Math: The Station Fire Five Years Later – a televised benefit concert also featuring performances by John Rich, Dierks Bentley, Gretchen Wilson, Aaron Lewis (Staind), Tesla, Twisted Sister, Winger and more. "This record is a true miracle," said Michael Sweet. "We began rehearsing the new material in 2006 and now here we are looking at a 2009 release. It's been an extremely difficult process yet through this came one of the most powerful records that we've ever made. We decided to go back to what we were known for - vocal harmonies, guitar harmonies, solid grooves and melodic melodies and arrangements. We put our hearts and souls into making this record and we can only hope that it changes a few lives along the way. If so, it was all worth it!"

Former Lovedrug Guitarist Releases Solo Album
Existing somewhere between a fairy tale world of castles besieged by dragons and the sobering reality of real life, David Thomas Owen IV's inaugural LP, Solace My King, will be released July 14 on Esperanza Plantation (Colour Revolt, Bear Colony). The former guitarist for the band Lovedrug has created a debut solo album where he takes center stage for a multihued, piano-laden "therapy session." In 2008, after playing hundreds of shows in a total of 41 states with Lovedrug, Owen decided to focus on his own material. The Ohio native packed his bags for the mountainscape of Montana and with the unexpected help of a piano, began to purge himself of years of bottled-up emotions. "The inspiration for Solace My King comes from a combination of events building up and forcing their way out in song," reveals Owen. "The whole process was one big cathartic experience." From the apocalyptic bombast of "Armageddon" and the enchanting Edward Scissorhands-esque "Castles" to the soaring, string-filled "Liars," it is evident that this is a marked departure from the material and aesthetic of Owen's former band. Over 10 tracks, he transports the listener to faraway lands where knights protect castle walls, lava spills into streets, and all is rendered into dust. Each song is a colorful journey to a different place and time, coasting on Owen's airy vocals and rich melodies. Recorded at Insomniac Studios in Arkansas with friends and former Lovedrug members Matthew Depper (bass) and Matthew Putman (drums), Owen composed most of the songs on piano, an instrument he wasn't very familiar with but one he quickly realized better suited his vision. The result is a spectral, mystical world one might expect to find sealed within a music box or trapped under the glass of an ash-laden snow globe; fortunately for us it can be visited with each play of Solace My King.
