Kevin Max Releases New EP
Kevin Max returns December 9th with his latest recording, CRASHING GATES – an all-new 7-song studio recording that brings Max back to the passionate rock sounds that his fans have come to expect. This will be Max’s first release on the dPulse Recordings label. "This is where THE IMPOSTER left off,” says Max about the new project. “I view this EP as a more focused collection of songs about the Apocalypse." Joining with his frequent guitarists Erick Cole and Cary Barlow (of Luna Halo), and producer Jonathan Smith, Max recorded CRASHING GATES during a week of late-night sessions at X Marks the Spot Studios in the Green Hills area of Nashville. “The process was interesting, more like a band than any other effort I have done, to date,” says Max. “We cut the songs, playing together, and sometimes found ourselves jamming into 10 minute long vamp sections.” Max and his band will be touring the USA and Europe in support of CRASHING GATES, including upcoming dates in San Antonio, Dallas, Little Rock, Nashville, Bakersfield and Ballymena, Northern Ireland. "Rock and roll has always been the most interesting music to me, because it is simple and yet undeniably emotional at the same time,” summarizes Max. “I am excited to see how this project connects."

DecembeRadio Releases Digital EP
Slanted Records’ recording artists DecembeRadio are bringing in the Christmas season with a new three-song digital EP entitled Comfort & Joy, which is available now. The release includes a unique rendition of the classic “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” which has been serviced to Christian AC and CHR radio, as well as a cover of the rollicking “Run Run Rudolph,” made popular originally by the legendary Chuck Berry. “Run Run Rudolph” has been serviced to Christian CHR and rock formats. “We hit the road pretty much ongoing the year round,” stated lead guitarist Brian Bunn. "But we take off much of December to be with our families, which is a very special time for us. Getting this time to be at home and rest in the Lord just adds to our Christmas celebration. We enjoyed celebrating it this year in song as a band and hope fans will enjoy these Christmas classics.” Bunn added with a laugh, “We really wanted to record ‘What Child Is This?’ but MercyMe did it recently, so we figured we’d better pick something else!” Christianity Today, known for their detailed Christian music reviews, has just released their Best of Christian Albums of 2008 list which honors DecembeRadio's Satisfied release coming in at #10. "This is a rock lover's album clearly descended from Southern-flavored bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Black Crowes, as well as the classic pop-metal of Petra,” stated the reviewers. “Time together on the road has only tightened their rhythm section and blistering guitars, and it's refreshing to hear unadorned rock instrumentation without flashy effects or studio enhancement. There's also something to be said for a band such as this being so forthright with their beliefs. Regardless of which DecembeRadio album you prefer, this one lives up to its title, if not more so.” DecembeRadio’s current CHR single, “Believer,” from their latest acclaimed release Satisfied, has just hit the Top 20 R&R chart this week, garnering four new adds and over 172,000 impressions. The first rock single from the new release, “Better Man,” received the #2 most increased plays this week nationwide and was #1 on the New & Active chart for the week. “Better Man” has been on the New & Active chart for seven weeks. "’Better Man’ is a great song - one of the better rocking tracks this year,” stated Bob Felberg, music director/program director of New Creation Radio in Myrtle Beach, SC, "It stampedes out of the speakers with a message of encouragement and strength!” DecembeRadio is currently headlining a tour that also features bands Ruth (Tooth & Nail Records) and Sevenglory (7 Spin Music) as well as speaker Billy Wayne. The tour runs through North Carolina, New York, Maine, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa and South Carolina.

Drummer For Blueprints Of The Heart Passes Away
Blue Duck records announces the passing of Carlos "Shorty" Montes de Oca, the drummer for Blueprints of the Heart:
We at Blue Duck are mourning the loss of Shorty, drummer of Blueprints of the Heart. Shorty went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning after a fatal car accident. To know Shorty was to love him. He brought excitement and energy everywhere he went. He always made you feel welcome and important. He was naturally good at everything he did, from playing drums, gymnastics, breakdancing...you name it, he could probably do it. It is so hard to understand why God would take someone so young, talented, and well liked so early in his life. "My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,' says the Lord.
'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9 Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Montes de Oca family and to Blueprints of the Heart. We know Shorty is in a better place and there is a good chance that right now he is teaching the angels how to breakdance. Information for the Wake and Funeral (Westfield, MA area) will be posted on BlueDuckRecords.com as soon as it is available.
LA Symphony's Flynn Adam Releases New Singles
In keeping with their boutique approach to finding and nurturing musical talent, Gotee Records has signed a deal with Flynn Adam, with his first two singles “Such a Time” and “Just Don’t Get It” being given the finishing touches for a January 27th, 2008 release via ITunes. A music video for “Such a Time” and remix version of the song will also accompany the singles for the New Year launch. The Flynn Adam songs will be marketed by Gotee Records in an A/B side single format with the music video included as well. “Such a Time” will be the first single to be promoted to radio, video, digital, TV, and Para church organizations. Gotee plans to release three of these dual singles digitally over the next six to eight months time. All of the total six songs will be available as an EP exclusively at Flynn Adam live shows in 2009. "We're all so frustrated right now about how this music business is not giving us the same results it use to, but we're not changing how we approach the consumer, and its clear they're telling us they want something different,” said Gotee label president Joey Elwood. “When I heard Flynn Adam’s new music I knew he was the right artist for us to launch our ‘content’ deal with. For years the labels have been focused on coupling 10-12 songs together for whatever configuration the consumer was demanding based on the most current technology. I'm now convinced that as labels we need to collect content and then decide on a configuration once we understand what the consumer is demanding for that particular artist. We don't like what the consumer is asking of us because it doesn't match our business model, but if customer service is the #1 priority of any business, we need to adapt and serve. This new deal with Flynn Adam is Gotee’s attempt at servicing the new music consumer." With this newest to-be-titled solo effort in progress song-by-song, Flynn Adam gets ready to serve up more of what fans have come to expect from him over the years with a guitar-anchored conflation of hip-hop, alternative, and new-wave sensibilities in the vein of Gnarls Barkley, Beck, and TV on the Radio, plus a healthy dose of Flynn Adam’s own idiosyncratic lyrics and hooks. The music video for the song “Such a Time” was also recently shot with director Daniel Chestnut (Hurley Entertainment). Chestnut just recently wrapped the new Norma Jean video “Robots 3, Humans 0". As one of the founding members of the highly renowned Dove- nominated L.A. Symphony crew, and also as an accomplished solo artist and producer Flynn Adam has worked with artists including the Black Eyed Peas, Will I Am, Mario C. (Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson), Posdnuos (De La Soul), Madlib (Madvillain, Jaylib), Evidence (Dilated Peoples), LA Jay (the Pharcyde), Benny Cassette, KJ-52, John Reuben, Mars Ill, Soup The Chemist, Royal Ruckus, Phonetic Composition, The Tunnelrats, Joey the Jerk, Tonex, Cookbook & Uno Mas, Deux Process, The Procussions and Murs. While with L.A. Symphony, Flynn Adam also shared the stage world-wide with the likes of the Clipse, P.O.D., The Black Eyed Peas, Jurassic 5, Talib Kweli, Xzibit, Public Enemy, EPMD, Pax 217, Stavesacre, the Visionaries, Busdriver, Relient K, Suicidal Tendencies, Good Charlotte, the Living Legends, Zion I, Atmosphere, Dr. Oop, and Sage Francis. Flynn Adam, a prolific producer, songwriter and mix engineer, founded his own record label, Eartube Empire in 1996 under which he successfully released his first two albums "Louder" and "Burntout", as well as L.A. Symphony's highly sought-after marquee independent album "Composition No. 1" and partnering with Illect on his third release "In Like Flynn".
