We should be done in the next couple weeks. Soon after that, we'll be announcing release date, etc. I love these songs...so much energy. I can't wait to share them with you all. More soon.....

Means Calls It Quits
Today Facedown bids a fond farewell to Means, a bright, young band who brought enthusiasm and good spirits to the Facedown family. Here is the blog on the breakup:
On October 26th we will be packing into the van one last time for a cross-Canada headlining tour. Here is how the tour breaks down.
28 Shows:
16 Ontario and Eastern Canada Dates
5 US Dates (Midwest)
7 Western Canada Dates
For the Eastern Canada portion Means will be a part of the Underground Operations UNITY TOUR that features KTO and guests, while the final Western Canada shows will be alongside our friends in HORIZONS. These will be our final shows together, and Means will be disbanding after a final performance scheduled for November 28th in Regina, SK. What began as new friends playing music together in a small northern Manitoba town is now nearly seven years later, a cloud of experiences upon which we look with both gratitude and pride. Grateful to have been a part of this band, through such formative years of life, all while having the opportunity to share in something meaningful to each of us; Music. For the outlet of this particular sound, which we cherish and trust, and for those of you who shared these years and become the community that surrounds us, we are ever grateful. Thank you for the camaraderie that we share and for your sincerity and spirit. As a band, we are proud of the miles behind us and the work ethic we maintained even though nothing-is-perfect. We are proud that we were a band that was able to laugh with one another and at ourselves along the way, often to the point of vomiting, crying, soiling etc., or all-of-the-above. Happy for all the pathetic inside jokes that for good reason mean nothing to anyone but us. Finally, we are proud of one another and the people we are becoming; trusting that through the experience of playing in this band we are growing to be more compassionate and understanding individuals. We would like to thank Underground Operations, Facedown Records, Ian @ Blackbox, Kevin Gales, Rosesdead, Everynewday, Misery Signals and Life in your way; for your guidance, inspiration, good faith and friendship throughout the life of this band. In closing, we would like to say that though it is rare when something ends, means will finish this winter on good terms and we are happy to announce the upcoming month long tour to celebrate together. Specifics will be posted for all final tour dates soon, so please check back and make plans to come out to the show one last time.
Kindest regards,
Aaron, Blair, Dylan, Todd and Matt

Charlie Daniels To Release DVD On November 11th
On Nov. 11, 2008, Blue Hat recording artist Charlie Daniels will release the live concert DVD package Preachin', Prayin', Singin' with Charlie Daniels & Friends: Live From Nashville, distributed through KOCH Records. When Daniels performed in Nashville in 2005 to debut songs from his Grammy-nominated bluegrass-gospel album Songs From the LongLeaf Pines, the evening quickly took a historical turn. Daniels surprised his Country Music Hall of Fame audience by inviting several of his personal bluegrass heroes up on the Ford Theater stage to jam. Guest pickers included Mac Wiseman, members of the Scruggs family (Earl, Gary and Randy) and McCoury family (Del, Ronnie and Rob), as well as singers Sharon, Cheryl and Buck White. In addition to the riveting performance footage, Preachin', Prayin', Singin' features commentary from Daniels as he reflects back on the early days of The Charlie Daniels Band, playing with The Earl Scruggs Review in the late '60s and the music of close friend Mac Wiseman. Other features include intimate interviews and behind-the-scenes conversations with Daniels, Scruggs, Wiseman and others who were an integral part of this magical night.

Copeland's On The Safest Ledge Exclusively On Spin.com
Florida indie rockers Copeland have an exclusive track “On The Safest Ledge” from their upcoming record You Are My Sunshine (October 14th via Tooth and Nail Records) on Spin.com. Copeland recently announced a US headlining tour to kick off in Carrboro, NC on October 21st, 2008 spanning the country from the east to west coast. Lovedrug, Lydia and Lights will support. Copeland is already generating a huge buzz online with the upcoming release of You Are My Sunshine and their elaborate viral campaign to announce the album. Beginning with a confused thread on Absolute Punk and a breakthrough story on MTV.com, news about Copeland has spread like wildfire to sites such as VH1, Absolute Punk, Buzznet, Buzzgrinder and the blogging community. You Are My Sunshine is a rich playground of sound unfolding into layers of angelic tenor, driving guitars, experimental backdrops and rousing lyrics (some of which can be found in an elaborate maze the band has recently confused web goers with). The production team of Aaron Sprinkle (Eisley, Anberlin, Pedro the Lion), Copeland vocalist Aaron Marsh, and mixer Michael Brauer (Coldplay, John Mayer, My Morning Jacket) joined forces with Tooth and Nail and the result is a brilliant 11-song collection.

Dizmas Visits Czech Republic
Members of Forefront Records rock band Dizmas have joined Josiah Venture to bring music and evangelism to Eastern Europe. The band will serve as team members with Josiah Venture for the “Exit 316 Tour” this October and November in the Czech Republic. Frontman Zach Zegan first experienced the Czech Republic in March 2008. During his short trip to the country, Zegan fell in love with the Czech culture and witnessed Josiah Venture’s passion to reach Eastern Europe through music and evangelism. “As you might imagine, we have a huge opportunity to impact this country with the truth of the gospel,” says frontman Zach Zegan. “In fact, we have been told that we are the first Christian band to be allowed to play in Czech schools in the last 50 years. We consider this opportunity an honor and would like to ask for your prayers as we begin this new adventure.” After much prayer, Zegan and band mates Jonathan Howard, Nick Aranda, Clayton Hunt and Joshua Zegan accepted the invitation of Josiah Venture to help reach the youth of Eastern Europe by putting together an 8-city tour. Fans around the world will have the opportunity to follow the band’s journey here. The blog will include video and blog updates from Dizmas while the band members serve in the Czech Republic. Josiah Venture is a movement among the youth of Eastern Europe that finds its home in the local church and transforms society. Josiah Venture’s mission and calling is to equip young leaders to fulfill Christ’s commission by reaching and making disciples. More than just conversion, the movement wants to see passionate followers of Jesus Christ with a vision to reach and disciple their generation for him.

Ruth's Sophomore Album Out On 10/28
After a successful debut in 2007 (Secondhand Dreaming) and extensive touring with Switchfoot and Relient K (2007 "Appetite for Construction Tour with Habitat for Humanity") as well as Emery, Ruth is proud to return with their sophomore release, Anorak, on October 28th. Titled after the British slang definition of an obsessive enthusiast, Anorak is a reference to a person who has an unfathomable interest in something and feels compelled to talk at length about it. The project was produced by acclaimed roster of Aaron Sprinkle (Copeland, Anberlin), Chris Keene (Surrogate, Number One Gun), and Kelsey Smith. The album was also mixed by Ken Andrews (Mae, Pete Yorn) and JR McNeely (The Almost, Relient K). "I would hope that the music we play is something a little more timeless," band's founder, singer/guitarist Dustin Ruth confesses. "Hopefully whomever gets one of our albums ten years from now, they're driving somewhere, and they can still listen to these songs and enjoy it. Our ten year goal for the band is that no matter what, we would still be real, that we would still be who we are, no matter how many records we sold." Written primarily at rest stops and hotels, Anorak captures the emotions and experiences of watching dreams come true and others fall beyond reach. Ruth's music is liberating, freeing and uplifting, while at the same time avoiding the pitfalls of cliché and easy, safe or predictable melodies. Anorak is at once challenging and yet simple to understand, recalling the best of '80s radio, '90's English pop and contemporary indie without sounding derivative of any particular genre. "This one feels more like a band album," Dustin says. "We had a lot more time to develop through a year and a half of solid touring. It made going into this album a lot different. As a songwriter, I put a lot more time and devotion into writing the songs that we really wanted on this album. These songs were written more intentionally for this album." The band will also return to the touring sector with Decemberadio after a summer filled with dates

Red's New Album Comes Out In 2009
GRAMMY-nominated rock band Red’s second album, Innocence & Instinct (Feb. 11, 2009), is a primal and provocative look into the dark and sometimes seemingly hopeless “fight inside” each one of us, told through the powerful sphere of the band’s hard-hitting, intense music. “Innocence” is where we all begin. “Instinct” can quickly take over. A lifetime is spent in this internal tug of war between who we really are and who we hope to be. Produced by the award-winning Rob Graves, mixed by Ben Grosse (Sevendust, Disturbed, Depeche Mode) and including a song co-written by Benjamin Burnley of Breaking Benjamin, Innocence & Instinct is thoughtful and powerful rock music, with a challenging look at the personal struggle inside each of us.
