Underoath Releases Fourth Album on September 2nd
Coming off their gold-certified Define The Great Line disc, UNDERØATH--who've built their career on being both heavy and experimental--return September 2 with the succinct and resolute LOST IN THE SOUND OF SEPARATION, their fourth album on Seattle's Tooth & Nail/Solid State Records. A diverse musical display coupled with the input of six opinionated souls, LOST IN THE SOUND OF SEPARATION is their most accomplished album to date. By trusting their instincts, pushing their song craft to the limit and meticulously perfecting it with Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, Atlanta-based producer/drummer Matt Goldman and the skilled mixing of veteran David Bendeth, UNDEROATH has soared to new artistic heights with LOST IN THE SOUND OF SEPARATION. Catapulting them far beyond their previous works to create a sound that's both epic and intimate, brutal and beautiful, UNDERØATH deliver one highlight after another including "A Fault Line A Fault Of Mine," the melodic reprieve of "Too Bright To See Too Loud To Hear" and "The Created Void," as well as the striking first single "Desperate Times, Desperate Measures." Defying the band's traditional approach, the stunning and uplifting "Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear" is a beautiful near-ballad destined to become a fan favorite. UNDEROATH--lead vocalist SPENCER CHAMBERLAIN, guitarist TIM MCTAGUE, bassist GRANT BRANDELL, drummer AARON GILLESPIE, keyboardist CHRISTOPHER DUDLEY and guitarist JAMES SMITH--whose last three albums count combined sales in excess of one million copies--have worked diligently to reach this creative apex while building one of the biggest metalcore followings in the world. UNDERØATH will launch their world tour beginning Saturday, August 30 in Mexico City at the Centro De Convenciones. This show marks the group's first-ever visit to Mexico. On September 2, the day of release of LOST IN THE SOUND OF SEPARATION, UNDEROATH will hold a special in-store signing at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square beginning at 4:00pm (1540 Broadway, New York, NY; 212-921-1020). Later that evening, the band will perform at their CD release party at The Fillmore at Irving Plaza in the city. Following the CD kick off party, the group will launch the U.K. portion of the trek September 6. Tours of Germany, Italy, South Africa and Australia will follow. The band will return to the U.S. for a special show on October 4 at Honolulu's Pipeline Café before launching their major autumn nationwide U.S. tour on October 15 with Saosin, Devil Wears Prada, P.O.S., Person L and Famine supporting. Look for more dates to be announced shortly as UNDEROATH will tour throughout 2008 and 2009. In other news, the group recently shot a video for "Desperate Times, Desperate Measures" with director Walter Robot (Modest Mouse "Missed the Boat") in Los Angeles. Expect an announcement about the clip's debut soon.

Haste The Day Releases New Single On September 9th
Solid State Records’ Haste the Day has announced that on September 9th they will release their first single, “Madman” via I-Tunes. The song is from their forthcoming album Dreamer, which is due out October 14th. Singer Stephen Keech commented, “The entire album is about the fall of man and humanity’s imperfections. The song ‘Madman’ plays off of that. It’s about a man who is stuck in a jail cell because he’s been ratted out by his accomplice and how he goes nuts, writing on the walls and trying to deal with the guilt and feeling of betrayal.” A video clip has been posted on the band’s YouTube site in promotion of the single that can be viewed here

Sonshine Fest Celebrates Record Breaking Attendance
One of Christian music’s premier summer events, Sonshine Festival recently wrapped up its 2008 event at the Willmar Civic Center in Willmar, MN, seeing great success in its 27th year. Despite most Festival and event attendance being on a downturn, Sonshine Festival experienced one of the best years in its history, with 20,000 fans in attendance for the weekend’s events. The added fourth night, a free concert intended as a “thank you” to the community, was also a huge success as over 15,000 people enjoyed Jars of Clay’s Wednesday night performance. “We want to thank everyone who came out and made Sonshine Festival 2008 one of our biggest years ever!” expresses Michael Scanland, Festival co-director. “We had a great success with our new free night on Wednesday – all who attended were blessed with the music of Jars of Clay. It is the least we can do to thank our loyal supporters for the last 27 years. We look forward to continuing the tradition with another free Wednesday night performance in 2009!” This year’s schedule featured six stages of events, with popular artists such as TobyMac, Flyleaf, Newsboys, David Crowder Band, Hawk Nelson, Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, and John Reuben. The HM Stage raised the roof with its biggest year ever, featuring As I Lay Dying, Flatfoot 56, August Burns Red and others. The Sports Arena Stage also had great success with thousands of extreme sports fans taking in the Powerteam, Chaos on Wheels and World Impact Wrestling. New for this year, the Hip Hop Stage was also a hit. Sonshine Festival also offered children’s programming at the Big Top Stage where younger attendees could watch Bob and Larry from Veggie Tales and comedy performances, as well as take part in arts and crafts. Bob Poe, Festival Founder sums up the event and looks to the future: “Sonshine 2008 is in the history books and we are grateful to all the attendees who spent the weekend at Sonshine. I trust it was a highlight of the summer for many and, as we start to plan Sonshine 2009, so will many of the thousands who attended '08! Our commitment is to continue to provide the best in Christian music and an opportunity to broaden relationships with God and friends. Sonshine 2009 will once again be a four day event, July 15-18, and contain something special for the whole family!”

Copeland Returns With You Are My Sunshine
Two years after the release of the intricate sonic landscape known as Eat, Sleep, Repeat, Copeland is back following that road further on their most distinguished effort yet You Are My Sunshine. You're going to want headphones for this one: You Are My Sunshine is a rich playground of sound unfolding into layers of angelic tenor, driving guitars, experimental backdrops and rousing lyrics (some of which can be found in an elaborate maze the band has recently confused web goers with). The production team of Aaron Sprinkle (Eisley, Anberlin, Pedro the Lion), Copeland vocalist Aaron Marsh, and mixer Michael Brauer (Coldplay, John Mayer, My Morning Jacket) teamed up with Tooth and Nail and the result is a brilliant 11-song collection. With songs like the guitar-driven "What Do I Know" and the ethereal tinges of "Good Morning Fire Eater," You Are My Sunshine bursts with that bright hook Copeland has been longing for since they set out to make music eight years ago. The gossamer epic beauty of "No So Tough Found Out," one of the many standouts featuring the dramatic vocal delivery of Wisconsin-bred songstress Rae Cassidy Klagstad, nicely culminates Copeland's desire in keeping the message of the album an individual matter. The decision to collaborate with Tooth and Nail certainly allowed for Copeland's creativity and passion to emanate from this album. "Tooth and Nail have been fans of our music from the very beginning, even before our first full length album," says Bryan Laurenson. "Throughout the years, we have made many friends who work at the label. We talked with several labels after becoming free agents, and in the end Tooth and Nail was the obvious choice for us. They are passionate about our band, and they are some of the hardest working people in the industry." Originally formed in 2000, Copeland released their label debut Beneath Medicine Tree via The Militia Group in 2003, and In Motion in 2005. In 2006, the band signed with Columbia Records to release Eat, Sleep, Repeat and followed up with the independent release Dressed Up & In Line, a 2007 album of B-sides and rarities. You Are My Sunshine will be released on October 14th, 2008 via Tooth and Nail.
