Delirious? Takes A Break
The UK-based, RIAA Certified Gold-selling, GRAMMY-nominated and Dove Award winning, globally relevant band Delirious?
recently announced to its fans worldwide that it is taking a break from recording and touring after 2009. Known as one of the industries best live bands, Delirious? will keep its commitments through 2009, continuing to inspire music lovers worldwide while carrying on its tradition of spiritually challenging lyrics and pointing people to see the wonders of what God has done for them. "We are all so deeply grateful to our incredible fans who have sung the songs and allowed Delirious? the privilege of providing the soundtrack to many lives over the years," said the band members collectively. "From the school hall in Littlehampton to the stadiums of the world, we have many stories to tell our children's children. Delirious? also would not be what it is without our amazing wives and families, and our gratitude to them is immense. We will now move forward to the next part of our lives where new challenges unfold and greater stories will be written. "We want to make it absolutely clear that although this decision has been extremely difficult, we are still great friends and our respect for each other is unquestionable. We love playing in this band together and know that even though 2009 will bring an end to this current journey, there will be more adventures together in years to come." The decision for the band to take a break from touring and recording was sparked by lead vocalist Martin Smith's request to be released from the band to pursue his work with CompasssionArt and to be at home more with his wife, Anna, and his children. After traversing the world for more than a decade, the band honoured this request and made a decision together to end this chapter of their lives. Delirious? is regarded internationally as the galvanizing force that changed the face of worship worldwide and currently has 14 songs on the CCLI charts, including such international classics as "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever," "Shout To The North," "Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble" and "Majesty." "For more than 15 years, Delirious? have been one of the most influential and phenomenally popular bands in Christian music," says Soul-Audio.com in a recent story. "With their signature blend of U2-style musicianship and poetic but accessible lyricism [Delirious] are responsible for one of the richest discographies in recent musical achievements."

The Lost Dogs Tour Route 66
Michael Roe, Terry Scott Taylor, Derri Daugherty and Steve Hindalong are The Lost Dogs. Over the past thirty years, these veteran travelers, who are counted among the best musicians in the business, have separately and collectively performed innumerable concerts throughout America and Europe. Since the formation of The Lost Dogs in 1992, they have joined forces to produce nine critically acclaimed albums of Americana-style music, while continuing with their individual musical endeavors. Taking a cue from lyrics penned for the title song off their debut album, the Lost Dogs will once again be taking the ‘Scenic Routes’. September will find them traversing The Mother Road in a pursuit to rediscover an America gone but not forgotten, which now seems more alive in the imagination than reality. More than just an itching of four aging and wandering spirits, the journey they take will be a search for artistic inspiration along America’s most iconic highway. Whether sharing a cup of joe with a stranger at Dixie Truckers Home or playing for tips on a street corner in Santa Fe their adventures will be captured in film and songs written on the road then recorded and released as their next studio album with an accompanying documentary of their journey. Emphasis will be placed on their various encounters and interviews with the uniquely fascinating people found along Route 66. The band will travel by RV and trade in the comforts of three star hotels for the simple pleasure of a campfire shared with friends. In true Lost Dogs style they are offering fans several unusual opportunities to participate in the experience with them. A GPS unit, provided by BrickHouse Security, will allow fans to go online and watch the bands every move in real-time. Video blogs will also be posted on their website so fans can watch as their experiences are transformed into a musical narrative of the Mother Road. Fans will also be afforded the chance to get involved with several tour support opportunities. From donating money to have their names included in the credit roll of the DVD, to purchasing items from the tour including the Waterstone guitars the band will use while on the road. The tour will end with a beach party at the Santa Monica pier, where the band will share new songs and clips from the road.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Recording Second Album
Jacksonville, Florida's platinum rockers THE RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS have been hard at work since early July in the Valley Village, California studio of rock super-producer Howard Benson (Hoobastank, P.O.D., Less Than Jake, Daughtry, Seether, All-American Rejects), recording the follow-up to DON'T YOU FAKE IT, one of the longest-running breakthrough albums in recent rock history. The rock quintet comprised of Ronnie Winter (lead vocals), Elias Reidy (guitar, backing vocals), Duke Kitchens (guitar, piano, vocals), Joey Westwood (bass, vocals) and Jon Wilkes (drums, vocals) forged a rare bond of closeness and healing with listeners from their very first single "Face Down," an unsparing, full-throated cry against domestic violence. The album DON'T YOU FAKE IT charted for 62 weeks on Billboard's Top 200 while "Face Down" stayed atop the Top 20 Modern Rock airplay list until chart rules mandated its retirement after 52 weeks. Additionally, "Face Down" has sold over 1.5 million digital singles and been streamed over 16.6 million times on MySpace. In fact, nearly a year after the July 2006 release of the album, several of the tracks are still going strong, collectively garnering close to 50 million streams on the band's MySpace page. Another track of note "Your Guardian Angel" was adopted as a touchstone anthem of both solemn and festive occasions: in addition to 10.2 million MySpace spins and 455,000 single downloads, thousands of Facebook and YouTube photo flipbooks and videos appeared with the images of loved ones set to the song, not to mention the countless plays received at weddings, school gatherings and proms, while "Damn Regret" and "False Pretense" are both nearing 100,000 single downloads apiece. The overwhelming response to the band recently prompted RJA to send regrets via their MySpace page to their now-worldwide fanbase that they would not be joining this summer's Warped Tour. Although RJA have been fan favorites for three years running, they assured fans that the time was being well-spent in the studio and even more productive than anticipated with Benson behind the board. Since the release of DON'T YOU FAKE IT, RJA has also been an active force for a wide array of charitable organizations and social causes, including teen suicide prevention, mental health parity and a strong commitment to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. In addition to these charitable commitments, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Guardian Angel Foundation has been formed as an umbrella group to support under funded high school band programs, to promote and enhance student musical development; support individuals affected by domestic violence, to break the cycle of abuse; and contribute to research that focuses on management of acute hyperglycemia in hospitalized patients. The new CD is slated for release in early 2009.

SonicFlood Releases A Heart Like Yours In September
Modern worship band SonicFlood will release a new studio album, A Heart Like Yours, on September 9th. The first on their independent label Resonate Records, the new disc features 11 uplifting praise anthems, centered on changing our hearts to be more like Christ’s, and living courageously for Him. The album’s first single, “Look to Love,” along with “How It’s Supposed to Be” are pulsating, hook-filled invitations for every believer to live boldly in their faith, while “In Your Presence” and “Psalm 91” (with its almost tribal beat and Hebrew chant-infused background), praise God for His limitless power and love. SonicFlOOd front man Rick Heil says of writing A Heart Like Yours, “I love all kinds of sounds from reflective to high energy. For this record, we wanted to get past our human fears of insecurity to really open up and be transparent in writing these songs of adoration. These are some of the most vulnerable songs we have written yet.”

Sara Groves Kicks Off Art*Music*Justice Tour
Critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter Sara Groves has gathered a group of fellow-acclaimed artists and friends Brandon Heath, Derek Webb, Sandra McCracken and author/artist Charlie Peacock, for her ART*MUSIC*JUSTICE tour this fall, which will benefit both the International Justice Mission and Food For the Hungry. The International Justice Mission is a human rights agency that secures justice for victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression. Food for the Hungry works in more than 26 developing countries providing disaster and emergency relief, and implementing sustainable development programs to transform communities physically and spiritually. With dates running from this week through October 26th, the tour is a unique concert opportunity to “add to the beauty, seek justice and give God praise,” desiring to further educate the church on God's heart for justice, gain advocates for the oppressed, and show evidence of a God at work in this world. Each evening will bring inspired music and stories of God's people in action and their heroic experiences across the globe. Incredible stories of rescue from the International Justice Mission will be told, while giving audience members the opportunity to be involved in Groves 'adopted' village in Rwanda thru Food for the Hungry. "God is mighty to save and is actively rescuing the oppressed through His people,” comments Groves. “ Scripture references to the 'slave, the poor, the oppressed' are not figurative. There are 27 million people enslaved today, after more than in 400 years of trans-atlantic slavery. God is calling us to respond. All of us on this tour want to convey, it is not a burden to help, it is an adventure. We’re excited to get out there and share what God is doing!"

Disc Makers Launches Elite Artist Services
Disc Makers have announced the launch of Elite Artist Services, a new division geared towards major artists who want to go independent. Elite Artist Services will make it easy for artists on major labels and major indies to leave their labels and generate substantial additional income associated with selling CDs and downloads directly, without the record label. Elite offers major artists who go independent virtually all of the manufacturing, distribution, download, and ecommerce infrastructure services required to release their projects. “With major artists like Radiohead, Trent Reznor, and Tori Amos leaving their labels in increasing numbers, going independent has quickly shed its undeserved stigma, and is now seen for what it is – a major profit opportunity for established artists with a solid fan base,” said Elite Artist Services vice president Jeffrey Epstein. “An artist that has already sold 100,000 records clearly has the name recognition to go out on their own, and could increase their profit margin by as mush as tenfold with EAS.” Elite offers today’s major artist a complete team and infrastructure to make going independent a turnkey process. The company offers a comprehensive suite of services that used to be offered by the record label, including graphic design, mastering, disc manufacturing and packaging, download sales through the artist’s web site and major sites like iTunes, Rhapsody and Amazon.com, CD distribution through Sony RED, custom merch production, product warehousing, ecommerce processing, web site development, digital and print marketing, and more. There are no long-term contracts, and the artist retains complete control over their music and their rights. The company offers an interactive revenue calculator available for download at its website for artists and managers interested in finding out the revenue potential of going independent versus staying on a label.
Starfield Takes Show Overseas
Sparrow Records Dove Award-winning modern rock band Starfield from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, has gained quite a following here in the U.S. Even so, this year’s recipient of the Gospel Music Association’s International Award takes its show overseas to share its music and message with fans in Europe and the UK. This month Starfield made appearances in the United Kingdom and Europe, taking part in seven festivals including Flevo, Soul Survivor and Greenbelt. Starfield first performed for fans in Sweden at the Frizon Festival and headlined a show in Biel, Switzerland. Between performances at the UK’s Soul Survivor on August 13 and 18, the band entertained audiences at Flevo in the Netherlands on August 14, Revo Fest in Germany on August 15 and Fuel Festival in Belfast, Ireland August 16. Before returning to North America, Starfield plays main stage at the Greenbelt Festival on August 22. In addition, the band is already confirmed to headline Scotland's Frenzy Festival in June 2009. Starfield also played the Netherlands’ EO Youth Day in June. Says EO Youth Day Music Director Tim Dik, “I was very excited that Starfield would be playing EO Youth Day 2008. I saw the band several times in the U.S., and I knew immediately I had to invite them to the Netherlands. I was convinced that their great live performance and powerful worship songs would match perfectly with all the other things happening that day. With 30,000 visitors, EO Youth Day is Europe’s largest Christian youth event and is broadcast live on national television. It was an unforgettable experience for all of us.” The band’s busy summer came on the heels of a spring tour in native Canada. The tour sold 18,000 tickets in just 16 cities with the largest sold-out show in Toronto welcoming 2,000 fans. Starfield will visit 12 Canadian cities again this September alongside Will Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Returning to the States this fall, Starfield will be joined by new Sparrow Records artist Above the Golden State for a 35-city tour in October and November. Crisscrossing the country, the tour will kick off in Sacramento, Calif., work its way to New York City and finish in Seattle.
