In Your House I Long To Be

Satisfaction...It is the one thing in the world everyone is looking for. Some people search for it in religion. Some look for it in sex, drugs, and rock n roll. People try to buy it, sell it, some people even kill to try and get it. Mick Jagger has been looking for it since the seventies and still can't get none.

Though I have moments of satisfaction in my life, I must admit that most of the time I am hungry for something more. I may have just accomplished a great task, or eaten a great meal, or spent time in the presence of God, whatever it is, one thing is for sure; the satisfaction that I feel will soon be replaced by a yearning for something deeper.

I believe that God is the designer of this yearning. I believe that God has placed a hunger inside every one of us that will not be satisfied until the day of Christ’s return. As a believer, I am only moving towards satisfaction when I allow God to accomplish His purposes through me so Christ’s return becomes closer. Only when heaven is on earth and we are all living in the presence of God will we be truly fulfilled.

So, don't let the uneasiness rattle your faith, realize it's a tool that God uses to keep us striving and coming back to the cross for His mercy. Remember by Christ's example the only way to advance God's Kingdom is by loving God and loving people.

By prayer, acts of mercy and kindness, and speaking the truth in love....

Prayer: I ask you to pray for me that I would not be side tracked by chasing after the wrong things as I pray for you this month.

Verses: Matt 6:19-21
Matt 6:33
