Alive In The Superunknown

I have good friend who plays guitar in a prominent rock band. This band has toured all over the world, sold thousands of records, and won prestigious awards. My friend has been playing guitar since he was a teenager. He dreamed of being in a touring rock band.

Now, after being on the road for some time he feels very strongly that God is asking him to give it up. To walk away from the very thing he dreamed of doing.

I asked my friend what he planned to do after leaving his band. He told me he didn't know, but that in his heart he is sure that it is time for him to step away.

I am happy that my friend is willing to take such a courageous step of faith, having no plan except to find and obey the will of God. Such a plan is a guaranteed success.

I have found in my own life that true lasting joy and peace comes from being obedient to God, whether we know our next step or have a plan B. Sometimes we just have to take the step, search, and believe that God will reveal the right path.

I guess that's the mystery of faith, giving up what you see for what you don't see.
Following the voice inside your heart instead of the worry inside your head.

Verses to consider:
Luke 9:23-25
Jesus said to all of them, "If people want to follow me, they must give up the things they want. They must be willing to give up their lives daily to follow me. Those who want to save their lives will give up true life. But those who give up their lives for me will have true life. It is worth nothing for them to have the whole world if they themselves are destroyed or lost.

John 10:4
When he brings all his sheep out, he goes ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice.

Josh,
I am in awe, I am touched and inspired as I read your words of wisdom, knowing how your life has truly evolved ~ Knowing you from where you have been and then losing touch for so long, it is a truly moving experience to now see where you stand this day. You have chosen to take a stand for Christ and share His love with the world. I can't tell you enough how proud of you I am!!! Sending lots of love........

Exodus 4:2
And the LORD said unto him, What [is] that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.

Exodus 4:3
And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

Exodus 4:4
And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:

Moses had just a plain old rod but he obeyed the LORD and cast it on the ground.. The LORD put power into that rod & told Moses to pick it back up..
Moses trusted the LORD & picked it up.. We all know the things that were done with that rod ..
Anything we cast to the ground for the LORD.. He may just fill it with power and then have us pick it up again.. does that sound familiar?

I really appreciated that devotional. I have often had a hard time hearing the Holy spirit's voice but through many experiences over the last several months, God has really grown me.
i trusted God's will for me and it was not I wanted for myself but He has opened up wonderful new oppurtunities for me, because of it. He always does. What He wants for us is so much better than anything we could imagine, plan or want for ourselves.
