MxPx Interview

The Warped Tour stopped in San Antonio, Texas last June, so I took the two interns, Tim and Frances, down there with me and we interviewed a couple of bands in addition to reviewing the festival. One highlight was meeting up with freelance writer Dan Frazier, who was Warped's "Pit Reporter" for the tour. He's a great guy, and showed us some sites we ordinarily wouldn't see. I made a big blunder when I tried to introduce the guys in Underoath to Frances at the start of the interview (Tim wasn't there at the beginning...I think he was out picking up chicks or applying LC stickers to automobiles...he showed up later). I wish I could take this "intro attempt" back, though. A couple years previous I had lunch with guitarist Tim McTague and Tooth & Nail musical guru Chad Johnson, where McTague lamented that it was a couple years before people at the label knew all their names and actually talked to them. I made a mental note then and there to shore up on my name memory skills, but they failed me when it counted most. McTague probably added me to his poop list when it became apparent I didn't know the first names of each member. But...anyways...this is a different (the second) interview and this band is MxPx. And here is their interview...

My name is Tim Frances, but I never interned at a magazine of any sort before. I take offense, though, that you would act like those interns were nervous. I didn't want to tell you this, but those two young people were not college students -- they were federal agents. They were sent to protect you. The word is out amongst the Warped camp that you are dangerous. What, with all the "What do you think of Jesus?" questions. You are stirring up trouble and these two were sent to protect you. Early word was that a member of Underoath was going to jump you and break your arms. I know they look small, but the threat was real.
Nice interview! It was very introspective of the guys and their feelings! I like it! Good Job!
Cool 2B @ the right place @ the right time Many more cool ints and good fun and blow away gigs to you. Staying true to your souls like you did in the interveiw isnt always easy. Keep it up and youse cant go wrong. It might not seem like it but your dealing with contraversal issues that to many would love to sweep under the carpet and go way and you do deserve a pat on the back so recieve. Blessings and Salutations from Aussie ps Well spoken int You guys Rok CHEERS
I have to agree with Mike and Tom. The format is one of the reasons that I did not renew my subscription. The minimalist, gray on black, big areas of nothing, style did not allow a lot of room for much. When I first got started with HM, it seemed like every square inch was filled with info and news. It was rad.
Yes! At last I got to read a good interview! There's just to much of the same questiosn and answeres going around. Tom and Mike really made the difference I think. Super guys those two.
I think your song is very good and nice to heared
