Haste The Day Raises Money For Red Cross
Indianapolis, IN plays home to two groups of friends and musicians, Solid State Records’ Haste the Day and Ferret Music’s Gwen Stacy. These two bands wanted to make an impact on the area around them in a positive way following a natural disaster that left the bulk of southern and central Indiana devastated. On July 18th they played a benefit show at The Music Mill in Indianapolis and raised over $5,400 for the Red Cross to help support those affected by the floods and tornados that struck the state earlier this year. Haste the Day’s guitarist Mike Murphy commented on the show, “We completely weren't expecting turnout to be as good as it was. Butler Scion got involved and matched whatever money their employees donated to go along with what we raised. The vibe was special, once we went on stage; there was something magical about it for us. Everyone was there to have fun; everyone was there to give back to the community. The venue let us play there for free and the staff worked for free, it was just great. On a personal level, I feel I've been gifted with music and the ability to perform and to be able to use my gift to somehow help somebody else, it feels really special. We are in central Indiana so we haven't seen any of the flooding really so we're disconnected from it, but we know people in southern Indiana who have lost everything, lost cars, lost fields, lost houses, lost hope. It was great to be able to help them.” Gwen Stacy’s drummer TJ Sego commented on the recent disaster in the midwest, ““This whole flood thing has hit really close to us. My high school and our bass player Brent's high school were both destroyed. Both of our hometowns are now disaster areas. Nobody has flood insurance there, everyone has lost everything. We just wanted to do our part.” The two bands will hit the road together in August on a mini tour. Haste the Day and Gwen Stacy will play The Purple Door Festival, a large Christian music festival in Pennsylvania, while they are out together. New Book from To Write Love On Her Arms
Non Profit organization To Write Love on Her Arms announced today the upcoming publication of the first book by Renee Yohe, entitled PURPOSE FOR THE PAIN, which paints an intimate portrait into this young woman’s life. Comprised of poems, journal entries and personal experiences, Yohe is sharing with the world her uncensored memoirs which are near and dear to her heart. In openly sharing her story, Renee hopes to open the lines of communication between those who are struggling or those who know people who are struggling in telling them they are not alone in this battle. “I want to provide people with a journey toward the hope that I found, and to inspire them to discover their own stories. I pray that this book will start conversations for people who are going through similar situations, or who know people in a similar situation. Through both the ugliness and beauty of my story, I want people to see the tangible redemption that’s available to them,” says Yohe. “Writing has always been an outlet for me to process my pain and joy in a productive way. It’s the most tangible outlet to connect people to my story, and show them a purpose for what I’ve been through and let them know they’re not alone in their struggles” says Yohe. She would like to continue helping others by traveling, speaking and finding avenues to invest in other people's recovery in a sustainable way. “There are so many ways I want to practically help people who are looking for a better life and a way out of situations that seem inescapable.” “I feared my story would be like Emily Dickinson; that my writing would be discovered and appreciated posthumously. So, the fact that I get to share and see the impact of my writing is a dream come true” says Renee. Yohe’s journal entries begin during the summer of 2003 and end in December of 2007. "To Write Love on Her Arms began as an attempt to tell a story and a way to help a friend. Renee Yohe was that friend and I had the privilege of telling part of her story. We realized quickly that this story was one that represented thousands and thousands of people, all over the world. We're so excited about Purpose for the Pain, as we believe it means that people will be moved and encouraged by Renee's story, in her own words. Renee has an undeniable gift as a writer and communicator and we believe she will be moving people with her words for many years to come" says Jamie Tworkowski, founder of To Write Love on Her Arms. In February 2006, Jamie Tworkowski wrote a story, a glimpse into a Renee’s life and her first steps to recovery. The story, titled To Write Love on Her Arms, along with the t-shirts Tworkowski printed to help pay for Renee’s recovery, started a movement, not only within the local Orlando, FL community, but one that was swiftly embraced by people everywhere. Renee contributes to the organization by writing blogs, sharing her story at speaking engagements, and providing consultation. When questioned if Renee plans on writing another book, she responds “While it's not my main drive or focus, I know there's more of the story to be told.” PURPOSE FOR THE PAIN, is to be released August 23rd by Orlando based publishing house, Bonded Books. Brash Music Signs The Michael Gungor Band
The critically-acclaimed Michael Gungor Band has signed with Atlanta-based Brash Music, and will release its debut CD for the label, Ancient Skies, on September 9. The project was self-produced, and features a set of thirteen songs either written or co-written by Gungor. Although this is The Michael Gungor Band’s first project for Brash Music, the group has already achieved a level of success more commonly associated with a veteran artist. They have performed for more than a hundred thousand fans around the country, including this year’s Hillsong Conference in Sydney, Australia. The first single from Ancient Skies, “Giving It All,” is rapidly climbing the radio charts, and “Say So,” a song co-written by Gungor won a Dove Award earlier this year. Additionally, the group’s music has met with critical acclaim from national media outlets including Christianity Today.com, which named the band’s 2007 independent release as one of the year’s top worship projects. “The Michael Gungor Band is a great fit for Brash,” said Steve Jones, president of Brash Music. “More than anything else, we’re looking for multi-faceted artists who are passionate about their music. This band has an excellent mix of strong songs and great musical talent, and we’re excited to partner with them on this album.” The Denver, Colo.-based Michael Gungor Band has quickly become one of Christian music’s most exciting new groups. Led by front man Michael Gungor and his wife Lisa, the group also includes Brad Nyght (drums) and Brad Waller (bass). As a songwriter, Gungor has penned several well-known worship songs including “Friend of God,” a song co-written with Grammy Award winner Israel Houghton that has become one of the Top 20 songs sung in churches around the world according to CCLI.

Andrew Peterson Signs With Centricity Music
Centricity Music is happy to announce the signing of one of Christian music’s most respected singer/songwriters, Andrew Peterson. Peterson will release his label debut, The Resurrection Letters, Vol II on October 21, 2008. “When we discovered that Andrew was interested in partnering with a label again we were incredibly excited,” says Steve Ford, Centricity’s Vice President, Marketing. “Bringing to Centricity’s existing roster an artist with Andrew’s artistic vision and commercial appeal will be a great addition. He feels like family, he is like-minded in his desire to make the best art possible while impacting culture for Christ.” “The people at Centricity have surprised me at every turn with their genuineness, their hard work and their commitment to doing things not the easy way or the old way but the best way. I’m really excited about this partnership,” says Peterson. The Resurrection Letters, Vol II was produced by Ben Shive and Andy Gullahorn and will once again showcase Peterson’s strong vocals and songwriting skills. "Whenever it's time to put a new album together, I look for a common strand that connects all the songs. This time around, it was clear to me that the songs are mostly about resurrection, about the way God makes all things new,” explains Peterson.

Lincoln Brewster's New Album Out on September 23rd
On September 23, 2008, Integrity Music artist Lincoln Brewster will be releasing his much anticipated new album titled Today Is The Day. The first single “Today Is The Day” achieved the extraordinary feat of charting after only one week of being released to radio, thanks to early momentum from several major radio reporters, including K-Love Network (National). It also was the most added single at Christian A/C 3 weeks in a row! Brewster has been out all summer premiering the new single and other songs from the upcoming release hitting several concert events and festivals. These include KLTY’s 2008 “Celebrate Freedom” in Dallas, TX on June 28; Creation West in George, WA on July 25, Kingdom Bound Festival in Darien Center, NY on August 3 and the National Outreach Convention November 5-7. Brewster’s previous single, "Everlasting God" from Let the Praises Ring – the Best of Lincoln Brewster, reached #1 at the three major A/C radio charts – Radio & Records’ A/C Monitored; Radio & Records’ A/C Indicator and Christian Radio Weekly’s A/C chart. In addition to Let The Praises Ring, Brewster has recorded four other solo albums – his self-titled debut, Live To Worship, Amazed and All To You and has made guest appearances on numerous Integrity projects. This accomplished multi-instrumentalist garnered a Dove Award nomination in 2007 for the special event album, Arise – A New Celebration of Worship. The three loves of his life are his family, his faith and his music. Lincoln was raised by a single mom who taught him to play the Mandolin by age 5 and the electric guitar by age 9. He married his high school sweetheart, Laura, and is the father of two young sons named Liam and Levi. Early on in his career, Brewster played/toured with rocker Steve Perry (Journey) and received recording offers from mainstream labels. All this happened before he turned 21. Brewster then stepped away from his pursuit of mainstream rock stardom to serve in his local church. He currently serves on staff at Bayside Church near Sacramento, CA as Worship Arts Pastor. Spreading the word far and wide, he also is an instructor for worship seminars and workshops around the U.S. and is a guest columnist for worship/ministry publications. He has incorporated touring back into his life, with appearances at major faith-based festivals and conferences including Creation, Kingdom Bound and Hillsong Conference (Australia). Kekal Posts Update About Upcoming Album
Some updates from guitarist/vocalist of Kekal, Jeff: "Audible Minority" is a very difficult album for me, both technically as well as emotionally, because I had to use many different DAW programs, different places and different computers to record as well, even within one session/one song. There are lots of technical challenges and headaches (literal headaches). Emotionally, all those 'drifting' atmosphere made me feel like a nomad; taken-out-of-home and exiled. The good thing is that I didn't set-up any deadline, so let the music finishes itself. To be honest, I don't see "Audible Minority" as a complete album, I see it as a continuing process, or as a bridge to the future unknown. This is an album which ends with a triple dots, not with a period. It is like snapshots of certain moments within a dark journey, and the journey continues. All of the band members were having their own personal struggles in life when the songwriting started, and it continued as the music shaped itself. Most of the (limited) communications between me and other members at that time were never about discussing the music, but all about sharing our own problems. I had to deal with all the songwriting and recording on my own this time, because of the geographical reasons as I was moving to a different country. There were times I thought that it was impossible to finish the album myself, and even there were times I thought about quitting the band as I was not having a good time working on this album. All I felt was the overwhelming sorrow, but I could not stop doing it. Making music is the only therapeutic way, to ease myself from the pain. The main concept of "Audible Minority" is all about perseverance and facing the life itself. Musically, it turned out to be a very dark, low-key and introspective album ever made under the name of Kekal. Be forewarned: Don't expect yourself to bang your head while listening to "Audible Minority". There are traces of extreme-metal at some points, but they collide with extreme electronic elements (with the use of multilayered power electronics, Moog synths and theremin) as well as dark, stripped-down emotional jazz and blues. I don't want to call this album 'experimental' or 'progressive', I prefer to call this 'expressional'. The title "Audible Minority" is based to the fact that the music on the album has mapped itself into the extreme minority status; something beyond recognition of the musical norms. "Audible Minority" is a stateless, nameless, and label-less manifesto made from all the bitterness and pain. The album that is entirely bleak, gloom and dark. Almost 2 years in the making, "Audible Minority" has been constructed during various personal events in life. It all began in September 2006, before the release of "The Habit of Fire", and continued to shape itself up until May 2008. First 8 tracks will be available for FREE DOWNLOAD (yes, no kidding, free download) with the option of paying some small donation. However, the "official", label-released versions (CD and digital) will have all 11 tracks plus some possible extras. After some discussion with the record label who will release the official version (CD and digital), we agree to push the release date to December 2008.

Keith Green's Life Celebrated Thru Book and Film
On July 28, 1982, Christian recording artist Keith Green and his two young children died in a small plane crash. Left behind were Keith’s pregnant wife Melody and their one-year-old daughter. Keith Green was just 28 years old. It took several years to write, but a book about Keith’s life was released in 1989. Melody had no way of knowing that No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green would end up in a half-million hands of people of all ages, from all nations. "In this book, they get to meet the man behind his music," says Green. "I fully believe, if Keith had not lived before the Lord as he did, his songs would not live on today." In conjunction with the new book, Sparrow Records has uncovered hundreds of hours of unreleased live concert recordings, videos, teachings, photos, and previously unheard songs from Melody’s storage room. After 18 months of work, the music and video has been fully restored to commemorate the extraordinary life of Keith Green. THE LIVE EXPERIENCE, 16 previously unreleased live recordings enhanced with more than four hours of never-before-seen video, and the GREATEST HITS CD are both in stores now. “It is my privilege to partner with Thomas Nelson in this revised and expanded 25th Year Special Edition of No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green” (Thomas Nelson October 7, 2008) “So much has happened since the first edition was published. People want to know what’s happening with our ministry. What has it been like for my two precious daughters to grow up without knowing their dad? What about unreleased songs? It’s time… time to catch up with old friends and meet some new ones.”
